Sarah won the Supporting Actress Emmy in 2000. She has two wins for Younger Actress, and one win for Supporting. Had she stayed, she would've been upgraded to Lead Actress, but she left months into JFP's tenure at GH (I hear the two never got along).

If she's back and eventually upgraded to a leading actress and wins an Emmy in that category, she will be the first actor in the history of the Daytime Emmy's to win in an Emmy for Younger, Supporting, and Lead. However, I don't see that happening.

She won the Supporting Actress Emmy when she was VERY YOUNG, I believe she's the second youngest actress after Judi Evans (who won for portraying the original Beth on GL) to win in that category. Given her age at the time, I can see why GH never submitted her for Lead.

She was pre-nomed every year under the new system for when she was on GL, as supporting actress. She was never able to land a final nomination, while much talented actresses who joined the show after her, like Gina Tognoni and Crystal Chappell, were able to land nominations and WIN Emmy's.

ITA with everything you're saying. I quit watching GL after 5 years last June, I just couldn't bear to watch any of it anymore, and I still can't to this day. I loved Laura Wright as Cassie, and to me she will always will be Cassie. Nicole Forester has done a great job in the role as well, but it is just not the same. If Sarah Brown is going to play Carly again, Laura Wright should definitely stay away from GL at all costs. GL is not the same show and Cassie is not the same character back when Laura was on, which is why she shouldn't come back. I would love for Laura to return as Cassie, but it would probably be a total disaster at the same time.

Back on topic now...I hope we get some more news on who Sarah Brown is going to play, even though the answer is rather obvious. I would like some official word so we don't have to speculate for who knows how long.

I feel the same way Dan, I hate that character and never cared for Laura Wright as an actress. Cassie was and will always be a total rewrite of history, she should've never lasted this long on GL.

I wonder if Cynthia Watros had stayed maybe Cassie would've been gone or it would've turned out it was a hoax Annie set-up to drive Reva crazy (though I know some details would've had to been changed).

Hell, Cassie must thank that Annie/Reva feud for her being on GL. After all, she was an outgrowth of the Annie/Reva storyline.

Re: Cassie --

I do not believe Cassie is Reva's half-sister by Sarah. I didn't believe it when Sarah told Reva on her deathbed, and I don't believe it now. I believe Sarah lied to Reva in order to hide the real truth: Cassie is Hawk's daughter by another woman, and she needed to ensure that her own children would accept and take care of her after she was gone.

Believe me, Sarah Shayne never would have had an affair (by "some businessman in Chicago"...see how that fishy sounds?) let alone give up the product of that affair. To me, she was just too pious to do something like that. Plus, she could have given up Reva, Roxie or Rusty, but she didn't.

As I see it, Sarah might not have known about Cassie until later in life, after Cassie was already grown and with a daughter of her own. She could have resented Cassie's existence, b/c it reminded her of Hawk's indiscretion. But, OTOH, I think Sarah realized Cassie was as much a victim of Hawk's mistakes as she was, so she kept tabs on her from afar, choosing not to interfere in her life unless absolutely necessary.
