South Park Goes North

By Kimberly Nordyke

Season 11 was a good one for "South Park."

Comedy Central's animated series posted its most-watched season since 1998 -- its second season -- among total viewers, averaging 3.6 million, up 4% from last season, according to Nielsen Media Research.

It also was the show's highest-rated season among men 18-24 (6.0 rating, up 34% from Season 10) since 1998 and its best performance in adults 18-49 (2.3, up 6%) since 2000 -- its fourth season.

Comedy Central attributed the show's growth in its 11th season in part to the recently aired "Imaginationland" trilogy. The conclusion to the trilogy, which aired Oct. 30, drew nearly 4 million total viewers, making it the network's most-watched telecast of the year.

Year-to-date, "South Park" is the No. 1 original series in cable among the male demos of 18-24, 18-34 and 18-49.
