I'm not surprised that Y&R went up last week. I actually enjoyed the Out of the Ashes storyline.

And as bad as GL is some days, I think it would be higher than a few of the other soaps if it aired in all markets. I'm hoping that the returns of Edmund and Bill help to push it up even higher!

You're kidding right? AMC is just as bad if not worse than GL. AMC deserves where its at, because this show NEVER learns. It's gotten new head writers and things continue to get worse. The idiots in charge at AMC have no one to blame but themselves. Granted all soaps are in a bad condition, but I truly find current AMC to be the most boring program on television.

If you watched GL lately then you would know that your statement is not true. GL is in the worst shape of all the soaps in daytime and it will not be getting better anytime soon. The budget cuts, poor writing, destruction of history/characters and out of order sorasing. Everybody is living in a one room hotel and they go to a hospital that looks like a tiki hut.

Horrible AMC!!!

B&E need to go PRONTO!! I tried to give them a chance but what they are doing is freakin drowning the show!

Even McTavish never got AMC this low. At least she had some historical information on AMC. As much as I hated it but McT gave us wonderful years from 1990-1995.

B&E are just bringing their crap from PC to AMC.

Also we need more balance!

Zendell, Greenlee, Adian, JR, Ava, Jonthan, Ryan, Annie crap is BORING!!!!!! Get a move on!

Frons is just a peice of [!@#$%^&*]! I am sorry but he is!!!!!!! How could you bring one of your show down all the way to last place!!!!!!!!

I rather have McT over B&E at the rate they are going. At least McT gave us a good storyline fore a year rather then a month that B&E gave us.

AMC deserves these ratings...it has become the worst soap on television bar none. GL is practically Y&R (circa 1995) worthy in comparison to AMC. The show is a total and complete disaster. You can just see Frons' memos: "Sabine Sing is young...use her...F--k Susan Lucci, viewers don't like to watch that old hag!"

Well guess what ABC, Frons has not only taken AMC to its grave but he's taking OLTL and yes, precious, legendary, magical GH down too!

Good for ATWT, that show is clicking (I guess, since I don't really watch admittedly).

DAYS, well here's hoping John's death will continue to give the show the momentum it so desperately needs. They better give DH a big storyline and fast otherwise it'll be totally botched.

B&B, hey it was a slower week, but it was still excellent and the show is still the best soap on TV. The ratings will slowly come back.

Y&R...ugh...that stupid stunt worked. But for how long I wonder? It was horribly written, maybe it will still come to bite LML in the ass (and if it doesn't, hopefully those delightful Nielsen surveys will!).

JHC as EP has two soaps in last place: PC and AMC

B&E as HWs has 4 soaps in last place: LOV, The City, PC, AMC

Hey Frons, maybe now you regret not giving AMC to Kay Alden? Frons is such an idiot.

What up with the day to day ratings? Will they be posted? thanks.

As for the ratings,

AMC is horrible, GH is okay, OLTL is good right now I am surprised they went down. They need to end that baby storyline, other than that I think the s/l's are going in the right direction. I think all will be alright with OLTL when the sl's hit their climax.

Happy to see that Johns death helped DAYS ratings.

Don't watch the rest.

I think the reason why OLTL's ratings are going down is the Marcie story, the main focus of the show, is slow-paced and is getting a bit repetitive. She's right under the cops and FBI's noses but she always gets away. RC has good direction, I just think pacing may be the only thing he needs to work on, but it is getting better.

    • I assume they did at some point during the finale...
    • Kelly was a horribly-written character overall. Just think, two Emmy-winning actresses (including Cynthia Watros, Nina, GH, and Annie, GL) couldn't make it work. Pamela is campy, but so are Dani, Vanessa, Leslie, and Joey. And, I don't want to be too judgy because my love for camp changes depending on the show. OLTL, DAYS, and some eras of GH had me rolling with the camp. However, Passions was overkill and I hated it. And, here, I can take it or leave it. It's ok in small doses (note to RC). I see this show as more of a serious drama.
    • I think one of the reasons that pilot didn't get picked up was because Vicki L was associated more with being Thelma Harper and playing older then she was playing her own age.  It was a blessing it didn't get picked up, or we would have been deprived of the syndicated era of Mama's Family.   Also, worth noting a Pre Night Court Marsha Warfield and pre Perfect Strangers Rebecca Arthur in the cast.  All talented women, but stuck with a bad script. And the other pilot had a pre Fran Fine.. Fran Drescher as the best friend.  I think that pilot might have been picked up if Karen Valentine and Fran Drescher switched roles.
    • So, on rewatch....did Rick and Mindy never have sex?
    • Cady had a fairly posh accent or manner as Rosanna - the character was a 180 from Dixie when she went to ATWT, and it was a huge success initially. As someone mostly only familiar with the nagging, miserable or clueless Dixie of the mid-late '90s and early 2000s it was what convinced me Cady could act. I thought she was incredible in her first run. Later, in future stints, her hair and story and performances were all over the place but a lot of that was down to the show for me. She brought some of Rosanna back with her to Dixie in her ill-fated return and a lot of people didn't like it, which I understood but I did think the character needed some change. I think she's had a little bit of the same persona and arch performance in every role she's played since, including Jennifer Horton at DAYS or Kelly at Y&R, who later became a maniac and was easily the worst work I've ever seen Cady do. It has kind of infected her overall mannerisms, I'll allow that, but I do think she brought Dixie back together as herself while still evolving the character when she returned to AMC again in 2012-13. Nonetheless, for me the upshot is that this is a character where Cady's kookier recent performance style suits the role. But I can understand it grating for people.
    • Yeah, Loretta Swit's passing stings. My late dad LOVED the show (he died last November) and watched it religiously. In first run and repeats.  And I was literally born the day after the show's premiere, so I grew up with it! I know many loved later, softer Margaret, but I loved Early Hot Lips. In real life, I'm all for less misogyny, but to me, the early years of M*A*S*H were just funnier. May Loretta Swit rest in peace. Thanks for all the memories connected to my dad!

    • I agree that she isn't Dixie or Rosanna and shouldn't be acting like either. I just found it strange that she had a naive Southern character and a wealthy urbane character in the past and didn't experiment with accents before (unless I missed it, correct me if I'm wrong). She used to do improv characters on YouTube. She's probably doing something similar here.

    • And here I thought I'd never think about Lauren Tewes again after her brief appearance in Twin Peaks Season 3.
    • I may be the single person who does not mind Transatlantic Campy Pamela. I think it perfectly suits this sort of Absolutely Fabulous-esque supporting character she's playing much more than it did when Cady tried weird and often broad stuff at AMC* or Y&R, or later stints at ATWT. She's not Dixie and she's not trying to be. I will freely admit some of the other chances she took at other shows often came off stiff, hammy or downright mortifying (Kelly Andrews, come on down). (* - and I say that as one of the few who was somewhat into Cady trying to make Dixie more cosmopolitan in the Rosanna Cabot mold in mid-2000s AMC, just to liven the character up again)
