Members Chris B
I'm still not convinced B&E will be gone. If that's the case, why haven't any mags picked it up ala LML? AMC has been through the ringer the past few years so genuinely good news would be hard for me to believe.

Members dawn9476
I don't think the problem with ABC is B&E at all.
Members dragonflies
Actually I'd more than say it's a combo of them, JHC and Frons........
Members Sylph
Is anyone watching those Speechless Hollywood episodes on YouTube? Hilarious! If it weren't that serious...
Members AddictedToSoaps
ITA. The problem may even be more of JHC's and Frons's since the show was still pretty crappy even when McTrash was writing. B&E are still a big problem though. Members Kubla Khan
If ABC is planning on getting rid of B&E they have not told them yet; they can't legally drop people for another couple of weeks. From my understanding, LML may have been fired right before the strike.
Members Adam
B&E are basically pushing an agenda that ABC/Frons has put forth. I think though all three entities are to blame. We need a good writer who can put forth their own agenda, an EP that actually will oversee the show. A network exec that will just stay the hell out of the day to day. Members Y&RWorldTurner
I think Frons has slowed down a bit when micro-managing the ABC soaps since he became head of SoapNet. OLTL is currently enjoying a healthy period and is on an upswing, the same cannot be said for AMC. Frons appears to let Ron write the stories he wants to write for OLTL, I'm sure he's doing the same for B&E. B&E are just terrible at what they do and they've never been consistently good writers. AMC just needs a creative sweep from top to bottom. The show is such a clusterfuck...
Members NYC123
All AMC needs is to find a writer that writers like Agnes Nixion did! But...no one writes like that anymore.
Members Sylph
Directors Guild to hold off on talks until '08 from LA Times The Directors Guild of America announced this morning that it would not schedule negotiations with studios until after the new year. The guild, in a statement, said it would only begin formal talks "if an appropriate basis for negotiations can be established." The directors have been holding off their talks on a new contract to replace one that expires June 30 in deference to Hollywood's film and TV writers, who are now in their sixth week of a strike. The decision comes after directors faced strong pressure from writers and their own members not to do anything that would undercut writers as they seek to negotiate their own deal. Talks between writers and studios broke down last week on Friday. "We are deeply disappointed by the breakdown ... Like everyone else in the industry, we had hoped that the two parties would be able to reach a fair and reasonable deal," said the DGA statement.
