October 24, 200718 yr Member srsly, if your gonna rip GH off then do it balls to the wall. this is just so bad... this is so bad its not even craptastic. its just crap. and thats just said since this is the numba 1 show in daytime... lolz. obviously emmys & ratings do not = greatness
October 24, 200718 yr Member And it's a Heroes rip-off. The poster or the shows? Either way though I never got into Heroes (which surprises me). I just found the whole "Save the cheerleader, save the world" stuff to be highly cheesy and ultimately boring. But its sad to think how great this storyline could have been if done the right way. I mean it sounds like the explosion/building collapse was weak and now the daily episodes for this week have failed to really make that worried or even care about what happens to the characters. Except Lauren and Noah I really didn't care much about yesterdays episode. Likewise I'm just waiting to see if Cane and Lily are trapped together and if anything interesting happens between them.
October 24, 200718 yr Administrator Is Josh Griffith, nearly 20 years on, still a newbie? He's a newbie producer to daytime. How do you jump from breakdown writer to Co-EP? It makes no sense. No wonder Y&R doesn't know how to produce a show anymore.

I bet they're missing Ed Scott right now. He would have made this "stunt" watchable, even if the writing sucked, lol. Presentation over substance! Sometimes that can save a shitty stunt.
October 24, 200718 yr Member After Ryan's post, I'm waiting for Alvin to show up and tell us about some cheap, terribly produced stunt Ed Scott did while EP of Y&R. David Shaughnessy is just irreplaceable, as Beyonce likes to say. Edited October 24, 200718 yr by Sylph

I just found the whole "Save the cheerleader, save the world" stuff to be highly cheesy and ultimately boring. There is a great column Matt Roush wrote in which he states the following: Far be it from me to defend a show that most of its fans seem ready and willing to accept, no matter its inconsistencies and unevenness and the way it skitters all over the map most weeks. But "slow"? Hardly. Scattered, yes. Confusing, but of course. When hasn't Heroes been a complete jumble? (Maybe the "Company Man" episode, still a series high point.) If you're going to sweat the small stuff, good luck ever enjoying this show. Much better just to go along for the ride and let the improbabilities and inconsistencies slide. The ambitious scope of Heroes is one of its primary selling points, but the execution is such that it does annoy me when it makes top-10 lists and gets a best-drama nomination over Lost at the Emmys. As for Hiro in feudal Japan: his clothes alone make him look like an alien. This part of the show is pure (and welcome) comedy relief. It's like samurai Abbott & Costello — not to be taken seriously for an instant. And I agree. It's just pure fun, not a Bertold Brecht drama. Edited October 24, 200718 yr by Sylph

David Shaughnessy is just irreplaceable, as Beyonce likes to say. LOL! Honey, Y&R never pulled this type of [!@#$%^&*] pre-LML, but didn't Gina's burn down during Shaughnessy's tenure on the show? Now that was good... Scott hasn't had substancial power at Y&R since 2001, so I don't know where if he was still with the show it would've been pulled off better. He was still WAY under Latham and friends when he was fired earlier this year, in terms of creative control and power. All the more reason to wish Shaughnessy would return as EP. Why does he only occasionally direct for B&B? Another soap (cough GH cough) should've made him an offer by now that he couldn't refuse. Come back David Shaughnessy! We miss you! :(
October 24, 200718 yr Member Is nobody worried that the whole structure could collapse? It's hard to believe that the families are allowed to stand so close to an unstable building.
October 24, 200718 yr Member It's hard to believe that the families are allowed to stand so close to an unstable building. It's a metaphor for LML's tenure as HW.

October 24, 200718 yr Member LMAO - all this positive feedback makes me really want to tune in again. *gag* As I said some weeks ago: Great promo poster, horrendous promo commercial and sure to be beyond laughable on-screen execution. Welcome to LML's Y&R!
October 24, 200718 yr Member Sheila, don't forget the poster is a rip-off. God, I have to find a synonym for that word...
October 24, 200718 yr Administrator LMAO!! Thursday's US episode just ended....... So at the end....Victoria gets out and is at the top of the rubble......she looks up.....so I'm thinking something is going to fall on her.....but instead we see this small rock hit her in the head/face and she falls down from the rubble. It was hilarious!
October 24, 200718 yr Member It actually looks to me like no one dies from this event, which surprises me! What exactly was the point of this calamity?
