GH: From best show to unwatchable

In February, GH's hostage storyline rocked the soap and turned the entire cast on its head with riveting performances, stellar directing and fabulous character development. We also got sharp new characters such as Logan, Coop, Kate, Amelia and Jerry. Things were on a roll.

Then Anna and Noah, two hugely popular and deep characters, returned for comic relief. Jerry's psycho girlfriend Irina raped Jax. Kate turned out to be sleeping with the enemy. Coop was totally wirtten into dayplayer status. How the hell did Guza manage to butcher the show he pulled out of the ground not even a year ago?

What I don't understand is why Guza refuses to write for characters that we actually want to see. Do you know how refreshing it's been to be spared Liason? And even the Lucky/Liz stuff has been sorta background. Today, not only did Alexis come out to play (NLG looked smokin) but she got to share air time with Rick Heasrt. Two minutes, though. Two minutes. Guza has powerhouses like this. That have enough chemistry to power all of LA and he lets them interact for two minutes every three months. Stupid ass clown.

He wouldn't know a good storyline if it bit him. He's to busy trying to figure out the best way to bone Jason without having to write himself in.

IMO, GH has been unwatchable since the day everyone got all nervous about a thug who made origami figures in his spare time. I think his name was "The Tin Man," or something, but since that period of time, I've struggled to watch GH for more than a half-hour at a stretch.

LOL...I disagree totally but that comment about trying to bone Jason is just too funny...

Anyways I think GH is the BEST ABC soap right now and theres a good reason why its STILL #1 in the ratings (for ABC that is). After GH comes OLTL which has majorly improved in the last few months. Then comes AMC.

    • So Cat wasn't a creation of Ron C.. but something that the strike writers generated? Perhaps the new writers will give her some layers and purpose on the show that doesn't revolve around Chad since isn't he on his way out next year?
    • Another good show today, but -- Why is super agent Joss holding that thumb drive in plain sight instead of stashing it in her denim shorts? Make it make sense. -- Dante going after Gio (in the previews) for Rocco's alcohol poisoning is lame and cliche, just a contrived way to drive a wedge between father and son.
    • Didn't he get all angry because the strike writers set her up to be Abigail? And he just went with the first thing that came to mind in order to prevent that?

    • That was an incredible interview.  I cannot imagine it ever happening with a performer currently on a soap.  I remember being extremely disappointed in Michael Malone.  I wish we had all of the backstage scoop on where things went wrong with him.
    • Go 'head, Brandon!! I was worried about this meltdown, but he's giving a pretty good meltdown. Knowing when to do it and just the right moment to pull back a bit.    These Kat vs Eva scenes. The best soap rivalry has the rivals have some empathy for the others though they dislike each other. And they are giving.    Yay! A brief SilkPress vs Dani moment.
    • Yabbut didn't you hear Lulu nail Carly?!!! And, Carly, instantly owned that she had. Between Tracy & Lois early on & then Lulu & Carly later & the added dash of Lulu & Dante carried over from yesterday, GH today was Dialog City!!! Plus, as we predicted Rocco in hospital, health scare while Danny & Gio & Cody are caring & practical, etc.
    • Anita should have saved the mother speech considering the dismal job she did raising Dani... but compared to Silk Press Sheila, I guess she would be mother of the year. For me, I would preferred longer scenes of Nicole/Ted, Smitty/Martin, & Eva/Kat... and not done the whole Dupree Mafia scenes.  The only Dupree I only really care about is Nicole... and having their reactions diluted from Nicole finally being center stage. Unpopular opinion:  Anita singing was kinda cheesy and cringe LOL
    • Highlights today Anita Eva Kat Nicole Martin tried but fell felt If these past few shows were why they recast Ted, I get it
    • Lois and Tracy were Great Lulu should listen to Carly
