Did y'all see Medvedev going off on the umpire because he wouldn't put a stop to Tits' dad coaching?  Intense!  Should have been at least a point penalty, if not a game.

The shaking of hands by Tsitsipas at the end of the match was so cold and I loved it!

Hope Rafa can take the title.

Is Eva coaching Tits from the tunnel?  What is happening here?!

I don't think so. At least that's not what is being described here. It seems as though Asderaki blew the whistle via signaling to the umpire. She's Greek, and no doubt, understands what Stefano's father is saying.

Yeah, I just saw another tweet explaining what she was doing.  It's shameful that its come to this.  Hiding in tunnels now?

Danielle would have to serve her best. A lot of first serves and limit the double faults, and I don’t think she can. Then she’d have a chance.  Because Barty isn’t going to play stupid like other players ignoring her backhand.

A 44-year wait is over! Ashleigh Barty wins the Australian Open and becomes the first home winner in either men's or women's singles since Chris O'Neil in 1978!   :D

Australian Open: Ashleigh Barty wins first Melbourne title by beating Danielle Collins

Had a ground pass for today, and was able to watch the Barty/Collins game in Margaret Court Arena, got home in time to see the last game of the doubles.

I only caught a few games of the men's final but figured that Barty was not going to let this moment pass, she would have her Murray moment. I also figured Kokkinakis and Kyrgios would take the men's doubles trophy. I'm sure it's a big deal for Australian sports fans. Like, I said before, they are not missing a thing with any player's absence.

I missed it but from reading it sounds like Danielle played well but couldn’t seal the deal. Barty isn’t one to just fold so expected.  I heard the story about her being the first Aussie to win since 1978. It’s kind of really since Goolagong.  They have to acknowledge O’Neil but no one was in that year’s tournament. I mean like - no one. So I think that’s why this is an even bigger deal.  They know.  Good for her, after all the ridiculous drama.

How can anyone hate Ash Barty?!

She's the most harmless, un-controversial and "nice" individual, almost to the point of being a bit bland.....  :P

Barty is very bland. Still, I don't hate her, I don't even dislike her.

It's probably not the first time this has happened but it's still strange to discover that Danielle Collins played an entire major final without a clothing or shoe sponsor.
