I went to bed right after I posted this as I realized how late it had gotten. The crowd seemed muted. I know that the IW crowd skews toward elderly but last night’s events seemed particularly lackluster. 
As I have said previously, if tennis is going to prevent the sport from falling into an abyss where interest is concerned, they have to stop with the “day at the office” narrative and try to get some excitement in the building. Many of their current “stars” don’t have much personality and the ones that do, they try to stifle, with respectability politics and cookie cutter notions of what a superstar player should be like. It’s beyond boring.

The main draw started yesterday in both men and women's draws.

Venus started last night but the rains came.

She plays today after Stan's match.

TC, TC2 and Bally Sports have coverage of the matches.

Simona got a wild card from the Miami tournament that starts in 2 weeks.
