Members amybrickwallace
Even though it wasn't a soap, I love that full-page ad for Scarecrow & Mrs. King. I'd love to see Bruce Boxleitner in a successful primetime role again.
Members All My Shadows
Bruce Boxleitner is a regular on Hallmark Channel's Cedar Cove, which returns for a second season next Sunday.
Members amybrickwallace
Oh OK, I didn't know that. Thanks. My cable provider doesn't carry the Hallmark Channel - dagnabbit!
Members Paul Raven
Primetime Ratings week ending Feb 7 1982 #3 Dallas 28.4/45 #13 Falcon Crest 22.0 /39 #69 King's Crossing 10.2/16 (3rd lowest ranking of the week) Knots Landing was pre-empted that week. Not sure about Dynasty but think it may have been pre-empted also as it did not appear in the Top 20. No ranking available for Flamingo Road.
Members amybrickwallace
Do you know the reason for the preemptions?
Members Paul Raven
CBS played a TV movie from 9-11 that displaced Simon& Simon and Knots that week. Upon further investigation, it appears Dynasty did air that week but didn't make the top 20. Dynasty had yet to break through in the ratings at that stage. Premiere week Sept 27 - Oct 3 1982 Thurs 10-11 Hill St Blues 18.2/31 20/20 17.7/30 Knots Landing 16.1/27 Fri 9-10 Dallas 22.5/38 Knight Rider 15.4/26 Battle of the Network Stars 10.8/19 Fri 10-11 Falcon Crest 19.3/34 Remington Steele 12.5/22 Battle of . . 10.8/19 Dynasty was pre-empted for a TV movie Money on the Side.

Members YRBB
I should really get around to finally watching all the short-lived soaps (EMERALD, PAPER DOLLS, TITANS, etc.). Still working through SAVANNAH.
Members amybrickwallace
EMERALD is up in its entirety on YT (at least the last time I checked, it only lasted for one season), and really had a top-notch cast. Charles Frank, Andrew Stevens, Susan Dey, Richard Dean Anderson, Richard Eden...I think the show strived to be what ARMY WIVES would become years later.
Members SFK
A great cast but a real snooze too often. With the proper writing, Patrick O'Neil's Harlan could have been as memorable as J.R., a really charming and charismatic scoundrel. Sela Ward and Jill St. John were also underutilized. Two potentially fabulous primetime soap bitches that were underwritten.
Members amybrickwallace
I'd totally forgotten that Sela Ward was also in the cast. This should have been a hit based on the cast alone, but poor, directionless writing will work against the great acting almost every time.
