Brian Frons announced:

ABC Daytime announces that Megan McTavish will no longer be the head writer for All My Children. "This was a difficult decision. Megan came in at a crucial time for All My Children. We appreciate her vision and thank her for all her contributions," says ABC Daytime President, Brian Frons

He's a year too late. Can we say "Josh is the fetus"? :(

Thank you for bringing those back up Ryan :)

I always remembered those so this comes as NO surprise to me.

A HUGE relief, but no surprise.

YAY!

Any ideas who is replacing her?

Not that it wasn't true before, but it's now on SOD.com

Congrats to AMC fans!

Let's hope the show can make a turnaround. I wonder who her replacement will be? Hopefully not a hack.

I just hope we don't get someone worse, I mean they don't come much worse than McTavish(well except maybe Reilly) but I hope someone from within is promoted.

It had better not be Courtney Bulger UGH

Soap Opera Digest is confirming this as well

AMC Writer Out!

ABC has axed ALL MY CHILDREN Head Writer Megan McTavish. In a statement, Brian Frons, President, Daytime, Disney-ABC Television Group said: "This was a difficult decision. Megan came in at a crucial time for ALL MY CHILDREN We appreciate her vision and thank her for all her contributions." McTavish has helmed the show since 2003. She also held previous head writing stints at AMC from 1992-95 and 1997-99. Details on McTavish's replacement will be released at a later date.

Sweet sassie molassie...I just may have to do my HAPPY DANCE! If true, it's the best news we've heard all year!

"PASSIONS (final airdate in September) creator and headwriter JAMES E. REILLY has been named as the latest headwriter of ABC's 'All My Children' as Brian Frons announces the pending departure of current headwriter, Megan McTavish."

That's my own quote, not the real deal.

It could happen. It really could happen. Brian Frons is youth-oriented... JER will be unemployed soon with the cancellation of Passions. It could happen.
