Much like I'm responsible for the people I let inside my house, women should be responsible for the penises they let inside theirs. Afraid of the Big Bad Baby? Refuse to go on the log ride.

I'm still pro choice. I just wanted to play Devil's advocate.... and say "log ride."

So what then, men can just run around and do it whenever and wherever unprotected? Ummm, okay.

LOL, log ride is kinda fun to say. :)

Yep, they can run around and impregnant as many women as they want. But it takes two to allow that kind of behaviour. A woman isn't like a microwaved bagel; the bagel can't say, "Not without a condom." The bagel, it has no choice but to accept its messy fate.

I forgot my point. Where was I?

Oh yeah: "Stay out of my booze!"

(ETA: *hopes people get it*)

And men somehow have no responsibility of who they screw, when they screw, whether or not they use protection when they screw, right?

Why is it that men want to be absolved of all responsibility when it comes to bring up the use of protection, but will piss their pants over the thought of an abortion?

Precisely! Now you've got it!

I want to pose a question I don't think is too inflammatory:

Why do all you Pro-Choice people hate babies and want to see them suffer?

Just think what the world be like if we men had babies!

I'd totally birth the baby if the man took complete care of it. But you know what?? 9 times out of 10, that doesn't happen. The man just screws off and the woman is left with a baby to take care of.

The whole division doesn't make sense. If you're not Pro-Life, then what are you?? Pro-Death?? Yet most politicians who are "pro-life" are pro-capital punishment. That just does not make sense to me.

I just find it funny that men think they are omniscient and delegated by GOD HIMSELF to dictate what a woman should do.

A woman's right to choose is, believe it or not, FREE WILL, which is, GASP, a gift from the very GOD that they supposedly "quote directly" from.

Frankly, NONE of us know what the man upstairs has to say and will not until the day we see him personally. I will not let the bigoted, small minded judgment of zealots change my mind. A woman's right to choose is hers and hers alone. Men do not know the feeling of being with child or what goes in the mind of women who were raped/simply not ready to have a child.

I agree, late term abortions should be outlawed. That is one thing that is indisputable.

But to hide behind the bible as a reason to cover your own hatred of an action is inexcusable.

If this were the case, a bible thumping preacher could try and ban masturbation, because that too is an act "frowned upon" by God.

Very well said Keith.

Shawn, I love you. :P

I think the "It's my body" argument is a valid and suffiecient one. I can't tell the men in this thread to go vut off their penis' because it's an instrument of evil in the case of rape. I can't tell a man to go cut off his penis because all he does is hump around. The mere suggestion is abusrd.

Moreover, while I believe in the Lord, our creater, my faith in man is limited. I don't trust any doctrine that has been manipulated over the years quite like the Bible has been. God also taught mercy, compassion and grace, but people use it as a weapon to keep others in line. If God is the one true judge, trust and believe, we will all be held accountable. Until then, "free will" should be excerised.

As for McCain, it's not just the abortion issue he is stoking the flames to. He has begun to attack Rumsfeild, calling him the "worst" Secretary of State. That he is, but MCCain sure has done a flip flop to get some votes.

O/T: Can threads be printed? I'd like to have this one to peruse all the different thoughts.

My body and reprodcutcive functions does not involve you or an other man, woman or everyone. You(Pro-lifers) have no entitlement to govern the decisions I make as though I'm your child or some kind of slave. I am my own erson and quite able to form my own choices without the input or interference of others who simply have a different opinion. Do not impose it on me because I won't be imprisoned by a mentlaity I find fault with. I'm a person of faith, but I have so many questions that can't be explained away by God said so. Therefore, religious doctrine should not be the end all, be all because no man walking earth is upright, righteous and sin free to declare that his word is almight. I satisfy my own conscience; not pander to a consensus in order to validate my own feelings and ultimately choices.

ICAM! What I do is between me and God and he will be the one to take care of things. You don't see me pounding on your door every time you commit a sin. What gets me about today's christians is that some try to make various sins bigger than others when in reality, its all bad and all wrong in the eyes of God. No one sin is bigger than the other but all these self-righteous, holier-than-thou's want to make it a bigger issue so they look better than everyone else. GMAB, you're just as big of a sinner as I am so quit pretending that you are better than me when we are all just as guilty.

If I want to have an abortion, that's my business.
ICAM! So please stay out of it. Like I stated before, this will be an issue that God and I will take up and I don't need any government regulating me and telling me what to do with my body. Its mine, not yours. Don't tell me what is best for you cause you don't have a damn clue.

Furthermore, an issue like abortion mirrors other hot topics such as gay marriage. Two men can't get married because some politician in Washington who has never stepped foot in your home decides it's what best for everyone?! Once upon a time, sitting in the back of the bus was also such a mandate that ultimately needed to be reversed.

A perfect example of the government doing too damn much. And its a wonder so many different nations hate us. We are off fighting stupid, meaningless wars and can't even get it together in our own backyard. Hypocrites

I also do not believe that life begins at conception. It's a fetus. If you cannot substain life on your own, you are not a living entity. You can't murder a fetus. Harsh as it may sound, but it's just a bunch of cells with potential.
While that may sound harsh, its true. Very rarely is a child to survive if born too soon

I also don't believe in prolonged life support. I refuse to be a corpse who only substain itself throgh the use of machines. That's not living! Those who involved themselves in the Terri Schiavo should forever be changed for taking a personal matter into fodder for votes.

I thought that it was awful that they let her go on living like that. I'm so glad she has now found rest.

Birth and children are truly a blessing, but not everyone is ready for the responsibility. I won't be forced into it just because the condom broke or I was raped. I certianly don't advocate abortion as a means of birth control; I have issues with late term abrtions outside the mother's health, but ultimately, that is not my choice. I can only decided for myself and others should be given the same consideraion in a suppossedly free country. Women have rights. We're not 3/5's, we can vote, we're equal and not submissive to the will of men who think they know everything. I'm not impressed that just because a man has a penis, I'm therefore deemed incompetent to know my own mind.

I can't stand this patriarhal, racist and bigoted society sometimes. But as long as I'm living here, my rights will not be usurped. I'll burn all my bras before that ever happens. There have been too many progressions made in the owmen's right's movement for some politician who wants to be President can fosake choice because it's not his own.

We've made this much progress, why backtrack now? This will only prove to be harmful than helpful and if you honestly think that this is going to solve any problems, you are sadly mistaken because you know what? When there is a will, there is a way! This will only make matters worse.
This is ultimately why I cannot stand the pro-life rhetoric. If you're so damn concerned about life, then what are you doing about the ones who are already here? What are you doing about the babies who are thrown into our extremely flawed system who have severe developmental disabilities or drug addictions? What are you doing about the children who need constant care, but have no one to give it to them? What are you doing about the ones who go from home to home before they're thrown out on their asses once they're 18? I'd say unless you're adopting them left and right, which I highly doubt you're doing, spare me the bullshit.

It's rather interesting. I read this article a couple of months ago that addressed the blatant hypocrisy in the pro-life agenda. Basically, it was nurses talking about their experiences seeing these women protesting in front of clinics, but then showing up to have an abortion when they or their child have an unwanted pregnancy. Oh, it's perfectly okay for them to do it, but not anyone else?

ICAM! The system is full of problems but they don't see that. They choose to ignore all of that. They don't realize the amount of children that get lost in the system. Most of these children don't get adopted because again the system is just so gridlock. Its ridiculous what parents have to go through in order to adopt a child and even that is not garanteed. Hypocrites, nothing but hypocrites!

I would love to see that. You men do not have a really high threshold of pain. Imagine an 8 lb. child passing through your manly bits with a hole smaller than the tip of a pen...

^^Didn't Arnold do some movie where he was pregnant?

He did, but I think his character had a C-section. I'm talking having a baby pass through the canal to enter the world.
