HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (Feb. 13) - Anna Nicole Smith was unresponsive and not breathing when an Indian tribe's police department requested help from paramedics, according to a tape released Tuesday.

In the 31-second call, the Seminole tribal police department asked Hollywood paramedics for help in assisting Smith, who was found unconscious in her room at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino on the tribe's reservation.

"She's not breathing, and she's not responsive. She's, um, actually Anna Nicole Smith ," the woman from the Seminole Police is heard saying in asking for help in Room 607.

"Oh, OK," a woman at the Hollywood Police Department responds.

Smith, a former Playboy playmate, model and reality TV character, was pronounced dead about an hour later at a hospital. The tape of the conversation was released by the Hollywood Police Department. The tape of the original 911 call to the tribal police was not released.

Smith's partner, Howard K. Stern, wasn't with her when she died, but he had been there that morning, and he knew she was very sick, his sister, Bonnie Stern, said. Smith was running a fever of 105 degrees, and a nurse was "icing her down" earlier that day, she said.

"When he left her, she was sleeping," she said.

Howard Stern had been gone only about two hours when news reached him that Smith was dead, his sister said.

Bonnie Stern, who recently traveled from her Beverly Hills home to the Bahamas to comfort her brother, said he had tried to get Smith to visit a doctor but Smith had refused because she was afraid that it would draw publicity.

"They had plans to get a yacht and to buy an engagement ring. They were going to get married Feb. 27. It was going to be a real marriage," she said.

Asked what she thought caused Smith's death, Bonnie Stern said: "Her immunity was so low. She was so depressed. She kept getting sick and her body just probably broke down."

Smith had never recovered from the loss of her 20-year-old son, Daniel, who died in the Bahamas in September while visiting his mother and newborn half-sister at a hospital, friends said. She had also spent a decade battling in court over the estate of her late husband, the 90-year-old Texas oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall II.

Alex Goen, the founder and CEO of TrimSpa, knew Smith well from working with her as a company spokesmodel and said she suffered from social anxiety, as well, even after years in the celebrity spotlight.

"She was clearly incredibly misunderstood," Goen told CBS's "The Early Show" on Tuesday.

Smith had gone through drug rehabilitation in the past, and her mother, Vergie Arthur, has blamed drugs for her daughter's death.

Smith had met Stern in 1996 when she was referred to his law firm, Bonnie Stern said.

"He started doing her legal work and then he became her confidant. They became best friends and then he fell in love with her," she said.

Stern, 38, is listed on a birth certificate as the father of Smith's baby girl. He said in an interview with "Entertainment Tonight" that he is the executor of a will drafted for Smith that will leave everything to the little girl, Dannielynn Hope Marshall Stern.

Another man, Larry Birkhead, also claims to be the father, and actress Zsa Zsa Gabor's husband, Prince Frederic von Anhalt, recently said he had a decade-long affair with Smith and might be the baby's father. Von Anhalt said Monday that he plans to file a paternity challenge in court and wants a DNA test.

Birkhead told New York's Daily News that he and Smith had meticulously planned for the birth of the child, but that after they broke up he was pushed to the side.

"Howard has never liked me and he never wanted me and Anna to be together," Birkhead, 34, told the Daily News in Tuesday's editions. "After she got pregnant, things went quickly downhill because of his difference of opinion on several matters."

Birkhead recounted how he had tried to save Smith from her risky lifestyle. He said Smith left him because of his attempts to intervene. The couple split early last summer.

"I watched over her to make sure she was safe, and once I was basically pushed to the side," he said, "I had no control over what she did or anyone else around her did."

Bonnie Stern said "there were times of some intimacy" between Birkhead and Smith, but said, "Larry Birkhead was not her boyfriend."

I saw an episode of some show last night. I believe it was The Insider. I can't believe that this isn't all over the internet, but the guy who was selling the yacht to Anna/Howard said that Howard got a call saying there was an emergency. He said Stern didn't act abnormal. He acted quite unphased by the call. The 911 call was made at 1:38. The guy said that Stern got the call before then.

The show also aired an old tape of Anna Nicole washing hair at a ritzy salon...all for the benefit of tsunami victims. My mouth hit the floor (and the show made it stand out more than anything) when they showed whose hair she was washing. She was washing Larry Birkhead's hair (!!) while Howard Stern can be seen in the background lurking. (!!)

SMH.

Howard K. Stern obviously knew she was a tragedy waiting to happen. I doubt she ever got close enough to make a baby with him. He seems to have latched onto her for the money. It's not hard to wind someone up and send them on their way to a fall.

I heard that Daniel once screamed at Howard that ..."You'll never get any of her !@#$%^&*]" and that he was basically a stalker. I may have seen it on ET.

Lots of Anna Nicole News (courtesy TMZ.com)...so sit tight!

Anna Nicole's Baby Isn't Going Anywhere
Anna Nicole Smith's baby girl Dannielynn will be staying in the Bahamas after a judge slapped Howard K. Stern with a court order forbidding him from taking her out of the country.

After an impassioned plea from Smith's mother, Virgie Arthur, Justice Stephen Isaacs granted a request for an injunction preventing Stern from whisking her away from the island, reports the New York Daily News. According to a friend quoted by the Daily News, Arthur blames Stern for the deaths of her daughter and her grandson. "There's two common denominators in the deaths of her daughter and her grandchild – drugs and Howard K. Stern," said David Lee.

Meanwhile, Stern told ET that he is the executor of the late Anna Nicole's will, and is the legal guardian of Dannielynn. The 5-month-old babe is, upon the death of her half-brother, the sole beneficiary of Anna Nicole's fortune.

Anna's Body to Be Held for DNA Testing
A Florida judge has ordered that Anna Nicole Smith's body not be released until a DNA test can be performed, as requested by Anna's potential baby daddy, Larry Birkhead.

This decision echoed a a previous ruling by a Los Angeles judge last week, ordering Florida authorities to keep Smith's body for 10 days. Both Howard K. Stern and Smith's mother, Virgie Arthur, argued the decision, claiming that if the body is not embalmed soon, it will not be suitable for viewing or funeral purposes. Birkhead's camp argued that accurate DNA testing would not be possible if the body were released and moved out of state.

Meanwhile, Anna's mother is pulling out all the legal stops to ensure that Stern does not get custody of 5-month-old Dannielynn. This morning, Arthur petitioned a Bahamian court to name her the legal guardian of her granddaughter, and asked the judge for an order that forbids the baby to leave the country.

Kramer Won't Touch Anna Nicole
Move over crazy astronaut lady, there's another person who must be secretly celebrating the untimely death of Anna Nicole Smith -- Michael Richards!

During a very rare public outing, the disgraced "comic" did not look thrilled to pieces when asked, "Do you have any comment on Anna Nicole Smith?" A stone-faced Kramer ignored the question, kept his head down and seemed to silently pray for elevator doors to close.

Richards has clearly learned that keeping his mouth shut is a good idea.

Pregnant Anna Got Methadone, Demerol
TMZ has obtained documents that show how an 8-months pregnant Anna Nicole Smith scored methadone during her pregnancy -- and the prescription may have been illegal.

TMZ also obtained an air bill dated August 8, 2006, that states a package containing Demerol (30 pills), a morphine-like drug, Dalmane (30 pills), a sleeping pill, and injectable vials of vitamin B12 were sent to Vickie Marshall in the Bahamas. Vickie Marshall is Anna Nicole's legal name. This afternoon, the doctor who sent the medication to Anna told TMZ it was not written for her, even though it was mailed to her. He would not reveal to TMZ for whom it was written.

TMZ has also obtained a prescription dated August 25, 2006 written to a Michelle Chase for 500 ml of methadone (5mg/5ml solution). Michelle Chase was also a name used by Anna. According to California law, it's illegal to give a false name or false address "in connection with the prescribing, furnishing, administering, or dispensing of a controlled substance."

TMZ has also obtained a separate air bill, dated the very same day, that shows a package containing 500 ml of methadone was sent to Vicky Marshall in the Bahamas.

We're told one of the main reasons Larry Birkhead broke off his relationship with Smith was because she was doing drugs while pregnant. Birkhead has accused Stern of facilitating Smith's drug use.

Dannielynn was born September 7, 2006.

Nanny: Anna Underfed Baby to Make Her "Sexy"
TMZ has obtained an explosive legal document written by Anna Nicole Smith's former nanny, which contains shocking accusations about her former boss, including suicide attempts, sex romps, and a claim that Smith dangerously starved Dannielynn because "She wanted her baby to be 'sexy'."

According to the sworn affidavit written in the Bahamas on December 4, 2006, Quethlie Alexis claims she received repeated threats from Smith, aka Vickie Marshall, to "underfeed" Dannielynn because, "Ms. Marshall was obsessed with making sure that her baby was 'sexy.' Ms. Marshall knew that the correct amount of baby food was 3 ounces every 3 hours ... Ms. Marshall insisted that the maximum I was to give was 2.5 ounces." Alexis claims that Smith enforced the order by "making sure the baby monitor was kept on all the time." Alexis adds Dannielynn "is badly underweight and not thriving, as a baby should."

According to the document, Alexis says that Smith threatened to "shoot her" if the baby ever addressed the nanny as "Mummy."

In the document, Alexis also claims that during her brief employment, Smith "attempted to commit suicide" on two separate occasions. "On the first occasion, she drank in my presence an entire bottle of what I believed to be a sleeping aid." Alexis claims that when Smith woke up from the resulting 48-hour coma, she blurted out the words "I wanted to die ... I meant to kill myself."

According to the documents, Alexis claims that Smith also "tried to drown herself" in her swimming pool. Alexis claims that Howard K. Stern rescued Smith from the pool. Alexis claims she heard Stern say to Smith after the rescue, "If anything happens to you, I would go to jail."

The document also describes the "flagrant sexual relationship" between Smith and the Bahamian Minister of Immigration, Shane Gibson. According to the affidavit, Alexis never witnessed Gibson and Smith having sex, but the former nanny claims the minister would, "spend hours alone with Ms. Marshall in her bedroom" on a "daily basis."

Anna to Be Released Soon, Who Gets the Body?
[2:00] TMZ has learned that a Florida hearing is underway to determine details for the release of Anna Nicole Smith's body.

A California judge is clearing the way for Anna Nicole Smith's body to be buried, but the question remains -- to whom will the body be released?

Moments ago, a California judge withdrew his request to put a 10-day hold on Smith's remains, meaning her body may be released and buried, pending a corresponding ruling from a Florida court. A decision is expected in the next few days.

[3:07] UPDATE: A Florida judge has ruled that he will not release the body of Anna Nicole Smith until he can determine the next of kin.

The Doctor Who Scored Methadone for Anna Nicole
Dr. Sandeep Kapoor was by Anna Nicole's side when she participated in West Hollywood's Gay Pride Parade back in 2005. He also prescribed methadone when Smith was eight months pregnant.

TMZ obtained documents which show that on August 25, 2006, just 13 days before Smith gave birth, Dr. Kapoor wrote a prescription for methadone. The prescription, RX#2846735, was written for Michelle Chase. TMZ has learned that Michelle Chase was an alias Anna Nicole used. Under California law, it's illegal to prescribe a controlled substance to a false name.

That same day, Key Pharmacy in the San Fernando Valley filled the prescription and sent it to "Vicky Marshall" (sic) in the Bahamas. Vickie Marshall is Anna Nicole's legal name.

TMZ contacted Dr. Kapoor, a 1996 graduate of Boston University School of Medicine, who said, "No comment."

TMZ also contacted Key Pharmacy. The owner said patient privacy laws prevent him from commenting.

Play Paternity Game

In the aftermath of Anna's death, several people have come forward saying they could be the father of her baby, Dannielynn. Now a website is looking to settle the matter by using college basketball for inspiration.

You can play "Anna Nicole Paternity Madness" by filling out a bracket of 64 possible baby daddies on celebrityhack.com. Larry Birkhead, Howard K. Stern and Prince von Anhalt are among the favorites, but there are some potential dark horses.

Over in the Trailer Park Region, watch out for the 15 seed, Alf. Meanwhile, in the TRIMSPA Region, the first round matchup of Mary-Kate vs. Ashley Olsen should be a good one. But the ultimate sleeper is the 14 seed in the First Cousin Region -- Satan. The Prince of Darkness is capable of anything -- how else do you explain "Glitter?"

So print out a bracket, start up an office pool, and see who wins!

TMZ has uncovered details of a husband-finding reality show that Anna Nicole Smith and Howard K.Stern pitched to various networks in 2005. It was nixed.

Sources tell TMZ that Smith and Stern, in collaboration with Hallock Healey Entertainment, shopped around the reality show, centered on Anna's quest to find a husband -- similar in concept to VH1's "Flavor of Love." The program would have had men, young and old, of different ethnicities and orientations vying for Anna's affections, with the "winner" marrying her. We're told the series was pitched as being very tongue-in-cheek, and that during meetings, network execs were repeatedly told how Anna was "completely in on the joke," and that in at least one meeting, Anna brought her poodle Sugar Pie along ... perhaps as an executive producer.

While no network went forward with the series, Anna did wind up finding a partner, of sorts, in Stern.

Prior to pitching this idea, Smith starred in E!'s highly successful "The Anna Nicole Show" until 2004.

A call to a rep for Hallock Healey Entertainment was not returned.

A Florida judge demanded today that even more DNA samples be taken from the body of Anna Nicole Smith, amidst concerns of a baby switching plot.

Lawyers for Larry Birkhead, one of the men claiming to be the father of Anna's 5-month old daughter Dannielynn, believes that Smith's DNA is needed to directly connect the Playboy model with Dannielynn so no one could switch the child with another baby.

Circuit Judge Larry Seidlin has warned all three parties vying for control of the body, Howard K. Stern, Anna's estranged mother Vergie Arthur, and Larry Birkhead, that his decision on who the body will be released to will take a while. "We're going to have hearings - as many hearings as we need," Seidlin said yesterday. "This is just a warm-up."
