Members RionPassions
It was reported that he was LEAVING. Whether it was of his own accord or not was never revealed. Only JER and Ken Corday know for sure, and the top brass at NBC, and maybe Steve Wyman, but they aren't talking.
Members Mason
Whatever. I know I'm right, so there's no point arguing about this anymore.
Members ranger1rg
everybody and their mother -- save 2 people -- know that JER was FIRED last year from DAYS. and JER's selfless and noble? GMAFB. the only thing he's noble about is that he likes muscles and pecs.
Members King
James E. Reilly was fired from DAYS. Sorry, JSF and Rion. That's one thing you definitely cannot argue. If only JER "sacrificed" himself for the "love of his show" sooner, maybe the show wouldn't be canceled.
Members RionPassions
Prove it, King. Find me a quote from an NBC brass that proves he was fired.
Members ranger1rg
no, rion, YOU prove that JER just "left." obviously, nbc wasn't going to make some major announcement about JER's firing at DAYS -- not with him still helming PSNS. EVERYONE knows -- save those 2 people i mentioned -- that his ass was canned because he was ruining 2 soaps. the problem was that nbc left him with one. Members King
Unfortunately, NBC didn't comment on it. I only have: This This This This This This and This But yes. I supposed, they're all wrong.

Members PhoenixRising05
Rion and JSF, JER was FIRED from Days. Case closed. It was in every mag and in several media outlets. As far as sacrificing himself for Passions, please. That man would not give up his job for nothing. It's his show and he needs to make a living somehow so why would he give up his livelihood. NBC owns the show so they probably decide what happens with it so they probably have plans to remove him from his position if it moves on to another format. JER would probably say he sacrificed himself for the show in hopes of getting another job, which should never happen after the crap he turned his own show into and after what he did to Days. Members Adam
I could care less where JER ends up after Passions, just as long as it isn't AMC. He should be blacklisted along with Megan McTavish to never work in this industry again.
Members Shawn
JERk wouldn't sacrifice one of his racks of lamb to feed a starving child. He would NEVER sacrifice his show for the "greater good". He was FIRED from Days. He was THROWN off NBC when they cancelled Passions. Deny it if you will. But its simple fact. Members JER Soaps Fan
Wow, JER doesn't "need" to make a living. he's not married. Probably has no dependents. And he has MILLIONS from writing "Passions" and "Days" (and for "Days," both tenures). From all those gigs, he surely has a lifetime supply of money to fulfill his dietary needs. I doubt he lacks budgeting skills. He doesn't even drive! He probably just pays for groceries and rent, and not that second if he owns. He doesn't need to make a living, so he could sacrifice himself for the sake of the show. He is of retiring age, y'know...so there's that too. Members nassaunew
If the DirectTV deal happens, would it mean that Passions probably would air 1 time a week during primetime?
Members dawn9476
I believe I have read that he has several nieces and nephews that he spoils.
Members JER Soaps Fan
:O:O I have never heard of that! It's one of the few JER tidbits, I imagine, that I didn't know. Good for him, though! The point is, I doubt he buys them porsches and ferrarris every day, so unless he's just good old-fashioned stupid and can't budget money, a Mr. Moneybags like the Great Reilly has nothin' to worry 'bout.
