I liked Bianca and I think the idea of her being brought into the show was very smart, but nothing happened. As @SoapDope78 mentioned, there was story potential for Bianca, like her becoming Lucinda's daughter in aggressive business practices, maybe clashing with Lily over who the "good" daughter was. If they wanted to write the character out, a story where she schemed too much and ended up being murdered (causing a guilt-ridden Lucinda to have a breakdown) or a story where she eventually went back to her roots and felt that Lucinda had used her as a token or as a replacement. She might reject Lucinda, and when Lucinda brings up everything she gave Bianca, Bianca would give everything back and leave to go join Frannie and Sabrina in their decades-long Montega clinic sojourn. Then they could bring her back later on if they wish.
The only mention I remember hearing about Bianca is from Liz Hubbard, when they wrote a line saying she had two daughters and Liz changed it to three.
I hadn't seen Brooke Alexander's Locher Room interview. I'm surprised to hear there was snootiness about theater credits as by that point the cast wasn't exactly full of elite talent. I can believe backstage wasn't a happy experience though and I'm sure KMH did have to deal with odd reactions when she joined.
I can see where one might have wanted Marland to leave in the late '80s, as the show struggles before his retooling. I think a great deal of 1991 and 1992 is compelling (if depressing in large stretches), but the show is also unsustainable. I will always wonder how Marland would have resolved most of his stories and moved forward.
I agree Ellen Dolan was more believable as a cop. I just wish she hadn't lost all Margo's spark and humor. And yes, Scott Holmes became so incredibly sour and yelly. He did improve his look as the '90s went along. Part was getting better haircuts. The other was that he told a soap magazine that, IIRC, his son told him he was overweight, and he started working out. From what Ellen said on Locher Room last year, he is still very very fit.
