And she said she's taking a rest from daytime. A short one that was. :D

I remember when Kathy Foster left it was her choice. I guess she's one of the people Toups mentioned left on their own accord because LML is such a nightmare to work with. It's nice to see Ed is starting with the quality Y&R additions.

I know some DAYS fans are wary about real change, but I don't think Sony/NBC would waste their time if they aren't going to allow ES to really revamp the show. I'm very hopeful and have been tuning in more often (although I HATE Hogan's writing).

I'll give today's show a go and see how Kay's directing is.

You should check out Thursday's episode too. Kay's directed the episode and it's suppose to be really good.

There wasn't that much of a change today, but the Colleen-Santos flashbacks didn't have that "shiny gloss" they usually do with it. The teaser for today's show was put together real nice also.

Toups, I just saw some of the clips from tomorrow's show and IMO it's breathtaking. So good in fact I shudder to imagine what these scenes would have looked like had they happened before Ed Scott took over because it's just such higher quality work it's unbelievable to me. I simply can't ever remember DOOL looking so PRETTY.

If this is the sort of work we can expect on a daily basis from her, then WOW. Kathryn Foster is definitely YandR's loss and DOOL's gain.

IMA, I couldn't agree more. I can't wait to talk about this tomorrow, only because of the production value. the ireland scenes are magnificent. (Although we don't have much to compare it to, based on the last few years)

Makes you wonder what the SSK story SHOULD have looked like. :-)

eta: Sorry, mods! Just realized this was in the directors/writers thread. *ahem* back on topic: thank you for bringing on Kathy Foster!

Kathy is a fantastic director and a wonderful producer (though, I still don't get why Noel Maxam was made a producer on Days and not Kathy).

This is news to me. Maxam is on the Days crew?

I was very surprised to see Kathy Foster's name listed in the credits today! Wow, so many excellent Y&R people have headed over to DAYS. This woman is so kind and funny in person and she had a great relationship with the actors.

Toupsy, is Kathy Foster on Days' official directing team or is she an occasional director for the show? I notice that the Sony credits have listed Ed Scott and Noel Maxam, in their respective positions, but Kathy isn't mentioned as apart of the directing team.

Directors: Herb Stein, Phil Sogard, Roger W. Inman, Albert Alarr

If you ask me, I'd like both Natalie Minardi Slater and Sally McDonald to leave Y&R and cross over to either DAYS or some other soap.

Hmmm.....I don't know. I assumed she was going to be part of the team taking Phil Sogard's place. I think Phil retired because his last episode was on June 25.

James Baffico's also a regular director and he's not listed.
