History question here. Can anyone tell me why Babe took Miranda? Where was little A? Thanks!

Yay, I can answer this one!

Well, Babe didn't "take" Miranda. Miranda was given to her by Paul Cramer. Paul's sister Kelly had a child who died and Paul was the one who was there when Bianca and Babe gave birth. He took Babe's baby (Little A) and gave him to his sister with plans to tell Babe that her baby died (in a helicopter crash that never happened; Babe and Binks were both out of it). But Adam, JR, and Jamie were at the hospital when they all came in and as Paul prepared to tell them that Little A was dead, the three men were preparing to whoop his ass for crashing the plane. So he quickly changed the story and told everyone that Miranda died. He said that Miranda was Babe's.

Babe didn't find out until late May 2004 when Krystal told her. She decided to keep the secret because she'd rather have seen Bianca suffer the loss of a child than JR (because while people started finding out about Miranda's true identity, no one knew that Babe's son was really alive and in Llanview with the Buchanans).

Let me try to summarize this storyline.

When Babe first came to Pine Valley as JR's wife whom he met in San Diego, she was already married to Paul Cramer, who was Dorian's nephew on One Life to Live. Of course, JR didn't know that.

Babe & Bianca went into labor while at an abandoned cabin and Babe called Paul for help, instead of 911. Babe helped Bianca give birth to Miranda and Paul showed up and delivered Little A. Paul called his sister Kelly on OLTL who had just miscarried Kevin's child and told her he found a baby she could have. Paul then staged a helicopter crash and banged up one of the incubators to make it look like one of the babies had died. Adam & JR got in his face, so he told them that the girl who was alive was Babe's daughter. Meanwhile, Kelly took Babe's baby from her brother and named him Asa.

Bianca recognized the baby as hers, but everyone kept telling her she was wrong. Babe couldn't remember all of the events that night so she believed it was her child at first. Then, Babe slowly started recalling more and realized she had the wrong child. It was about 4 months after the kids were born and Babe was worried she would lose JR if he found out their child was the one who died. So, she confronted Paul, but kept the secret.

Meanwhile, Babe didn't know that JR was plotting to get sole custody of the baby (they named her Bess after Dixie's mother). JR gave Babe a drug to make her come on to men and she ended up passing out and being saved by Jamie (Babe had already slept with Jamie her first night in town). Eventually, Babe ended up in Llanview, saw Kevin with the baby that she recognized as hers, confronted Paul again, and she & Jamie kidnapped Asa/Adam and went on the run. She left JR a note telling him that Bess was Bianca's daughter Miranda and that his son was dead. JR, Bianca, Babe, & Jamie all ended up in Florida where Babe finally told Bianca the truth (it was 8 or 9 months after the babies were born, I can't remember). Bianca gave Babe a well-deserved slap (you can find it on You Tube if you want to see it).

JR gave Bianca a shove that caused her to fall off a balcony and it wasn't until the 2004 Christmas episode that she came out of a coma to reunite with her daughter.

JR went on to get custody of Asa/Adam (the custody battle was on both AMC & OLTL and involved Kevin & Kelly as a couple versus Babe and JR who were seeking single custody), which was why Babe decided to remarry him, but then she supposedly fell in love with him.

It was a storyline that felt like it lasted years, but I think the babies were born in March and Bianca found out the truth in November.

You did a great job Steve! The only other things I can think of that also came out of this storyline (that gets ranted, raved, or discussed about on the show) are these facts:

-Miranda is a child of rape. Her father is Michael Cambias, who is Zach's younger brother, who tried to rape both Erica and Kendall, before he finally succeeded with Bianca. Michael was killed soon after, and there was a huge "Whodunit" mystery trial. Bianca ended up being the one who killed him, but she had blocked it all out of her mind. Bianca then decided to give birth to the child. Zach never fessed up that he was a Cambias though (as he went by the name Zach Slater and disowned his family name) until Ethan came to town and I think it was Maria Santos Grey (Julia's sister/Edmund's wife) that figured it all out.

-Babe and Bianca played a trick on JR. They set up a camera and pretended to be sleeping together as JR walked in on the two. He then went on to incriminate himself on tape and accused Babe of cheating on yet another person.

-David was found out to be Babe's biological father and also helped keep the secret about Miranda to Bianca.

-Krystal was the only character who did jailtime from this entire storyline - as she spent about a year in the slammer. This is where we met Di, who had black hair, befriended Krystal, and became VERY interested in Krystal's background. This is also where David first saw Di and believed she was really Dixie...then the big Di/Dixie storyline began.

Actually Krystal only spent about 3 months in jail. Adam bailed her out when he thought she could expose Di as fake Dixie.

lol - Ok no she was in jail way longer than 3 months!!! Didn't Bobbie Eakes take a break and record her album while Krystal was in jail? I thought she was in it at least between 6 months-8 months?

Krystal was put in jail - after about a month, the mysterious Di and Krystal became friends - which took about another month - then David came snooping around on Di and that lasted about a month - then Di got out and David convinced her to pretend to be Dixie - that took about a month - then Di started playing Little A's nanny and slowly revealed she was Dixie - then that is when Adam finally bailed Krystal out after finding out Di was in jail and had a criminal background and was friends with Krystal.

All that HAD to last over 3 months!

Merry Christmas fellow AMC fans. Hope you all have a great holiday with family and friends. AMC had its usual awesome Christmas episode....The writing has been so awesome lately. Right from the dialouge to the breakdowns of the scenes. The characters are interracting the way real people interract now a days. The Wildwind Christmas was so fun. It was nice seeing them all relaxed and having an awesome time. The Chandlers were great too. AMC is all about family and friendships, that is happening again on AMC. I love it!

Babe left Bianca a note telling her that Bess was Miranda and left JR a note telling him that Bess was Miranda and that his baby was dead in November and went to Llanview to kidnap her baby from Paul's sister Kelly. Things ended up getting jumbled up because note-leaving isn't exactly an intelligent way to confess to such a thing - so Babe realized she had to tell her face-to-face and to make sure JR/Bess came along. So Babe told Bianca the truth in early December, told her A3 was alive and told her to be weary of JR cause he thinks his kid is dead...and then ran again.

I also loved that When Dixie arrived at Tad's house there was little picture of Tad/Dix/Jamie/JR from a long time ago. How priceless.

I noticed that too! I thought it was so cute.

The episode was good. I was excited to see the end, but it did go to fast and couldn't we have seen some more of the actors. Oh well, just happy we got something. Really looking forward to Tuesday.

I research before I answer (via the transcript site) . I knew Bianca had her baby in late March, knew Babe found out Bess was Miranda some time in May, knew Krystal was sent to jail in late February (close to Bianca' exit), and the July month out-of-prison pick was a lucky first guess.

Just one more thing. Why did JR push Bianca?

Both JR & Bianca were pushing each other out the balcony. JR thought Bianca was going crazy, like she did lasttime when she kidnapped "Bess" from the hospital. JR just wanted to push her away from trying to get to the Baby that he believed was "Bess". Babe slipped and fell against the weak railings that snapped which caused. I still remember the shocked look on JR's face when she actually fell!

Well you know how irrational and emotional JR can be sometimes - but yes he was trying to take Miranda away from Bianca - although he was under the impression it was his 'daughter' Bess. Pretty much Bianca was scared and didn't want JR there bc he was acting out. He started going after the baby, she tried to keep him away, and he pushed her over the balcony. This put her into a coma, and she woke up on Christmas day as Erica handed Miranda over to Bianca for good in the hospital bed (2004's Christmas miracle). You be the judge as to who is at fault in the balcony scene though:

And now if you remember back to early November of this year when JR and Bianca were in Josh's hotel room and JR was drunk - and Bianca was scared but then Erica came in and they stood up to JR - and then HE jumped out the window himself. After knowing the history and watching that clip, that whole episode may make more sense to you now.
