B&B: Week of December 4

Man, that last scene made me cold. Brrr! That house was all dark and gloomy. The wind blowing. And Mama Douglas sitting there all alone.

Besides the acting of all involved, another thing I like about this story is that it's a rare opportunity to see B&B shoot scenes set outside of L.A. or some other flashy locale where everything is awash in bright light. You really notice the difference... there's almost a kinda Genoa City feel.

Yes, this feels like old school 70s Y&R, I wonder if that was intentional. Even the styling of Pamela and Ann reminds me of old school soap. If B&B can manage a Best Show nod, I think it would be a strong contender for a win. This episode was brilliant and the stuff with Felicia's death should give them an edge. Of course GH will win with Luke and Laura's wedding, but a boy can dream can't he?

Pamela is finally coming into her own the more they develop her. At first I thought it was strange that she was so quiet and there, but not really there. Now I see it ties into her backstory of being the shy, dumb one. I'm loving her and am so happy she's sticking around!

All I can say is B&B is at it's best right now, I have not scene shows like this in at least a decade on this show, just fantastic writing and acting by all people. Today's show 12-7 was chilling like some of the other posters have said, today's show reminded me why I watch a soap for, to bad I don't get to say that comment very much.

Today was great. I loved how it finally started to sink in to Ann of what she had done to Stephanie. I curious about where they're going with it from here.

Brilliance!

I’m catching up with the latter half of this week right now...

From your post I expected Thursday to be a killer but Wednesday already nailed it for me. Susan Flannery = acting goddess, Patrick Mulcahey = writing deity, whoever created those dark new musical themes = musician deity.

Add Alley Mills and Lesli Kay who do the impossible with the little bits of dialogue they were given and I’m in awe and worshipping my TV. Every single time the screen faded black and those dramatic musical cues appeared I was ready to clap my hands. That’s great soap opera, that’s quality TV, that’s brilliance!

I don’t think it can get any better, but let’s see what Thursday and Friday brought us viewers...

I'll just post what I wrote into this one.

I am SO disappointed with the confrotational scenes between Susan Flannery and Betty White. Lord almighty that felt very off. I am a fan of La Flannery, but I really don't think she was as brilliant as she usually is. Betty White and Alley Mills were exceptional, but Flannery couldn't match them. If Susan Flannery submits this for the emmy, she may be nominated but I doubt a win. Also, SF was good but I do think the writing was limited. Where was that Patrick M guy? He would have brought justice to these scenes. And the music was also wrongly selected. Now say if I compared this to Erika Slezak's abuse storyline, then Slezak had Flannery blown out of the water. I think SF has a difficult time showing vulnerability, whether the writing was to blame or not, but that was not her best yet. I hate to be a downer, but I expected more. :(:( Though Betty still has a couple of episodes left so you never know.... ;)

I already wanted to comment further on the weekend, so...

Did anyone fall off the chair when Taylor and Brooke were having a little tea party and acting MATURE!? AND FRIENDLY!?

So surreal - bring the real LA bladies back, please LOL!

The blue screen technqiue-scenes with Eric & Stephanie in the limo were also slightly strange. The lighting meanwhile was great.

Even the backstage crowd gave thier best last week. :)
