This is good news if you ask me!

There were WAY to many of JER minions left on the writing team when he left.

I highly doubt that 7 writers were fired though!

I'm ok with Hogan axing everyone except Brash, SLG, Milstein and Schoettle.

7 writers would be half of the staff (out of 14 current writers)

Hogan Sheffer, Meg Kelly, Beth Milstein, Peter Brash, Rick Draughon, Jeanne Marie Grunwell Ford, Hannah Shearer, Sofia Landon Geier, Bruce Neckels, Jodie Scholz, Michael Slade, Susan Kirshenbaum, Anne M. Schoettle, Frederick Johnson

I would assume if it's true then fired would be 7 of the 8 holdovers from JER: Brash, Draughon, Grunwell, Kirshenbaum, Neckels, Scholz and Slade (my guess would be Geier would be saved)

That would leave the 6 new writers: Sheffer, Kelly, Milstein, Schoettle, Shearer and Johnson plus 1 holdover from above.

That sounds about right, Jason. I do think Geier AND Brash would be saved, though.

Godelia is basically a holdover from JER. She was credited as a writing assistant throughout his tenure. I think they would axe her ahead of Brash.

So the remaining team would be: Sheffer, Kelly, Milstein, Schoettle, Shearer, Brash & Geier

If it's the ones left over from JER, that's ok with me. I have a feeling they are holding the show back, and are the ones responsible for Sami and Chelsea's regressing from episode to episode.

Not surprised, nor do I care! DAYS' writers have been phoning it in for years except for two.

omg....I'm sorry Ademption....I meant to hit quote but I hit edit by mistake. LOL So sorry!! :(

I just hope none of them come to ABC. We already got a hack who learned from JER and she's methodically destroying OLTL.

Hasn't Renee Godelia already left?

She has been replaced in the credits by Frederick Johnson who was a writer at ATWT,GL,B&B,Y&R,and AMC.

Thanks for catching that. I just checked today's credits and you are correct. I was focused more on the guest cast today, forgot to check writer's. Only two guests this week, Chris Gerse & Lisa Jay, so nobody new debuting on the show until at least December. I'll change the credits at my site soon. Jason

This sounds good, and it's definitely needed. IA that Brash and SLG shouldn't be going anywhere. And I do think Milstein would be better as Hogan's Co-HW.

  • Member

Have always wanted Milstein to be the Co-HW, it makes so much sense.

I am hoping Neckles is gone, and Milstein and Schoettle stay. Brash I am not as crazy about as some but definitely there has been worse, and they're probably among those 14.

Add me to the list of people wanting Beth as co-HW. Meg isn't bad but I like having someone that knows the history of the show as a co-HW. Meg can stay on staff though.

I don't care who they fire as long as SLG, Brash, Milstein, and Schoettle stay. Those the ones I think are the best on staff.

Thanks to OakdaleLover on the head's up about Johnson. Here's the press release from my site.
