I feel so bad for Alexa Havins. She's a fantastic actress, but they have painted Babe into such a corner. I don't think I've hated a character so much on this show in a long time. Babe needs to lose EVERYTHING--even Krystal's love--and become a full on scheming witch. I would enjoy all the trashy stuff she does if they would just make Babe BAD and not make everyone always blabbering about Babe's 'big heart' and 'she loves so hard' crapola.

I think AMC would do well to pair Babe with Ryan--another character I loathe these days. They should both lose everything, and return to their early scheming days. Seeing them both being crammed down our throats as the most perfect, loving people in Pine Valley makes me wanna Zarf, excuse me, BARF.

I used to like both of these characters, but I have to FF almost all the scenes they are in. It's just the same thing, day in and day out. Babe needs to be removed from the Josh/JR stuff (why can't they both fight over Dani?? She's one of the hottest women in PV) and Ryan needs to stop being SuperDad/Brother....

I think Babe is AMC's version of General Hospital's Maxie, except on GH, Maxie is written as a sneaky, conniving skank and nobody's propping her up with "Maxie continued to supply Lucky with drugs and slept with him while he was married to Liz... but she meant well! She has such a big heart!"

Hell, no! The writers of GH aren't excusing Maxie's behavior at all. She's doing the things she's doing to drive story, and the things she's doing are completely reprehensible and the character is being written and treated as such by other characters on the show.

But on AMC, they make Babe do all these horrible things so they can drive story and keep Alexa's overrated behind front burner, but then try to justify it all so they can attempt to make Babe a good character so they don't HAVE to write her out.

That's all that this is. If any other character/actor were involved in even a small fraction of all the stories Babe's been in, they would've been written out in a "storyline dictated" departure ages ago. But noooo... they feel that Alexa and Babe are where AMC's future's at, so they write all of the Babe propping -- not so much to make US like her, because they know that's not happening -- but to justify it among themselves as to why they're keeping this character on the canvas. If a few viewers happen to buy the acid trip they're pushing, then that's all gravy. But they're mainly concerned with justifying and rationalizing for themselves.

Because at least when she first came on she was enjoyable--albeit briefly--shaking up stuff in Pine Valley and injecting some of the white trash vibe...but then when they started doing all the 'big heart' crap, all the good went out the window. IMHO, the character should be written off (and actually, KILLED off would the best way to go, since JR would be evil AGAIN for making her leave her child), but if they are adamant to keep her, I maintain Babe could be redeemed somewhat as a character.

WORD! I bolded the parts I thought were especially well said. This is the problem with the future of AMC; if a skanky whore like Babe is supposedly good, then there are no truly good characters to root for anymore.

I agree, Alexa Havins is a good actress, but Babe needs to go. I want the serial killer to claim this b i t c h / w h o r e. Alexa would be good as Sarah Roberts on ONE LIFE.

I think that Megan has destroyed all of AMC's characters during her 3 year plus stint. So Babe is ultimately on of the casualties as well. I think they wrote her into a corner for plot reasons. I never understood why they had her find out about the Miranda switch nor do I get why they let her get JR off for trying to kill her. Do I think her character is destroyed beyond the point of no return? no. I still think she can turn around if they chose to do so. Have Babe learn from her mistakes and move on and become mature, ect. But that isn't there priority. They keep this cycle going so they can move story. Babe has been in the same story with JR since she came on.

Babe reminds me alot of Sami on Days. She plots and schemes and then in the end it does her no real good. But I love her thou and I understand why she does these things and her motivations. She is understandable to me. I love Babe and I love Alexa. I love Babe because of Alexa. I feel for her because of the way she portrays Babe.

But, you're right about Alexa's view on the whole Babe/JR saga. Wasn't it a couple of months ago before just before the Adultery #8 storyline kicked off, Alexa was in the press saying that she's all for JR's redemption, but doesn't want it to come at Babe's expense?
