Members PhoenixRising05
The show is fun and exciting but it's nothing fantastic. I see your point King but I think everyone sees exciting differently. Not everyone wants some huge gimmick or anything. I like what I am hearing for the next 3 weeks and beyond but some may not. It's all in an individual's taste. I wish something HUGE was happening but I don't even think it would equal good numbers. Days had goods reveals and events back in September and October when no one else was doing anything and they did nothing for numbers (probably because no one cared about JER's stories). GH is doing a big sweeps thing and it's doing nothing. GL is the only soap that is really making a push and I hope it lasts but who knows. It's only a 2.4 and that is alot to be excited about but I am not sure if they can maintain that unless some ABC fans have jumped ship to GL, which is not a bad decision in my book. I think the issue here is everyone has different tastes. I say Y&R is boring but some don't. No show can please everyone in every way so that is the way it goes. Overtime maybe Days will catch on with everyone but I think they will be fine and things will get better like the spoilers indicate.
Members King
A soap can be fun and exciting without gimmicks. A Hoagie reveal/push would garner more ratings than a JER reveal/push did.
Members dragonflies
Good for GL, but I don't see this being much of a victory for GL, it ONLY went up cause two other soaps dropped.
Members Tzelkos
So now Fronsy can say he was right: People don't want to see middle-aged over-weight women front and centre. Ugh.
Members Matt
Yeah, but GL went UP in the ratings while the other 2 went DOWN in the ratings. That's usually how it works. Much has been made because GL has tied AMC in the past only because AMC went down while GL stayed the same, but not this time!
Members R!ck
AMC didn't drop, they stayed at their stagnant 2.3 GL gained +.
Members King
It's all about spin though. Producers and GL will be able to spin this WONDERFULLY! GL's spin will be: WE PASSED AMC AND OLTL!!! OUR EFFORTS ARE PAYING OFF! OLTL and AMC's spin will be: WE ONLY GOT PASSED FOR ONE WEEK! IT WAS LUCK! Members SouthOfSoap
GL did go up. Can one of the posters with past ratings tell us when last GL got a 2.4? Its been a while - seemed like a glass ceiling at 2.3 was finally broken this week for them...
Members rsmith2k2
Aaaah, the double-edged sword...lackluster rise in rathing will be blamed on Genie, probably not intrinsic structural problems with Fronsie's fave show. Go GL! Keep dropping AMC (though I hate saing it as pathetic as things are in PV right now). Ratings and focus groups and young blonde actoresses are the only thing that speak to him and The House of Mouse. so tank, the ratings must! Members Kwing42
GL went up...thats the point of the whole thing...the only way to spin this is...GL WENT UP AND IS AHEAD...this week.
Members dragonflies
My bad, GL did go up, I didn't pay close enough attention AMC deserves it's crappy ratings. If anything this shows that people are sick of the hobilly hour on AMC. But of course Frons will find a way to blame it on Brooke
Members DaysGal
You took the words right out of my mouth. Beth Milstein gets it! Next week GL will probably overtake Days.
Members Soapsuds
I guess Simon and Carly sleeping together did nothing for ATWT ratings. They actually went down on Wednesday. ATWT's numbers stink only Monday and Friday are descent. I guess Laura's return was a bust. She wasnt all that much last week though. And wow GL at #6. I thought I would never see GL higher than #8. It looks like AMC is going GL's way with dumping the vets and telling stories around newbies. I guess Simon and Carly sleeping together did nothing for ATWT ratings. Members PhoenixRising05
Beth was good but what huge thing did she do? She climaxed stories that weren't even hers. She didn't start any stories so how do you know she would be doing a better job? Beth worked for two months and Hogan has only been here a month. Give the guy a break. Days' ratings were around the same during Beth's tenure from early August -early October so what would Beth offer? I understand some want more out of Days but let's be realistic. People are going nuts on Hogan way too early in the game.
Members WTGH
ATWT was coma inducing last week. I hope the ratings go up .1 next week. Hopefully Skatie sex will bring back some disgruntled Skatie fans. Now that Craig has a diabolic scheme cooking things should pick up.
