Wow!! Thanks for the link!!

Can you imagine Bryan and Ali working with material like this? It would be awesome.

I find that flashback of the new character/recast of Will eerily familiar:

Remember that rumor that I posted a few weeks ago?

http://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/index.php?showtopic=11895

I wonder if this rumor is true or if the same poster on Dustin's posted at Soapcentral?

Also, if you go to the links, the info about the spoiler from the original Soapcentral site has been removed and the links to the pics are now dead. The actor had dark hair. The hair was pretty long too--just like Will's. But the hair was straight not curly like the current Will...

Hmmm...I wonder what Hogan is planning here, especially with the physical assault.

*IF* Will, or whoever the gay character will be is coming out, I wonder if the physical assault was a result of him getting beat up at school, or sexual assualt that, as a result, "made" him gay. Like the former idea, the latter idea not so much. Especially because it's very controversial.

Sorry you didn't get to see the pics of the guy they might cast.

He reminds me of Clay Aiken, but with dark hair like Bryan's.

I do believe that Hogan needs to do a story like this. Will is the perfect character beause of his background. Too bad Chris Gerse can't be the actor to do it.

"Jane" is either Kate or Marlena. I think Will would come out to Kate before Marlena. He barely knows Marlena. They spend no time togehter. That's just what I think.

So glad this is finally happening. Not only does Will have no potential love interests currently on cast. He's related to just about everyone. With his screwed up childhood and upbringing, it's only natural that some things in his life would become questionable. He should be a very confused kid. I just don't like the fact that he's being SORASed because Christopher Gerse barely looks like he could logically be Alison Sweeney's son. It may be unbelievable.

AWESOME!!!

This sounds really powerful and is the story I have been waiting for. It seems like it's Will and it really should be and it seems they are recasting him, which is a major plus. I hope they don't age Will too much because it would be awkward with Sami and Lucas being his parents.

I honestly think he would come out to Marlena first since he can confide in her and she is a psychiatrist. He wouldn't worry about being judged by her or her telling someone. With Kate, he knows what she is and she is very image conscious so she may not be as understanding. Whatever the case this could be very good and it sounds like it would be done right, which is no surpise under Sheffer.

With Kate, there's the whole hooker aspect that could desensitize her. With Marlena, there's the psychistrist aspect. As far as Will's relationship with either, it's hard to say. He's not onscreen consistent enough to really tell, either way. Kate being the better relationship only exists because she's ALWAYS in Sami & Lucas' orbit. And that's the writing, Remember, Will left his favorite teddy in Marlena's "casket". They're obviously closer than what we've seen.

It's more than likely Will, but I am also wondering about Nick Fallon. I know he has sex with Chelsea or whatever, but something about the actor...I know this sounds bad...but it looks like he could really believable as a gay character. Jane = Alice? Maggie?

I don't know if I'd buy Lucas being a homophobe, but mayeb Nick's dad could be. I mean he's off-screen sooo.

While the story may be going ahead, I question the authenticity of the post - it seems like a puffed-up internet campaign to land the gig for this actor. Kind of like that Spencer dude as a recast for Shawn. I saw the photos and he looks nothing like your typical Days actor or the image Corday supposedly likes, and I think the use of the word model was gratuitous at best.

    • The Eva / Tomas scenes at the end -- to see a good actress having to play a scene with someone giving her less than nothing -- that was painful.
    • I thought the story had it’s moments, I much preferred the story once Greg was meddling, trying to keep her away from Tom Ryan. I loved them together!   And there was a story they could have developed from this. Laura stopped having a lot of scenes with the ensemble. She's the only one missing during the big finales of seasons 5&6, and I would have been cool to play on that! For one, Laura being a more cutthroat business executive just made sense to me. Also, the point I was trying to make regarding Mary Robeson was that I wish they had focused on a story from her family /background beforehand. You could play the Vin artist from many angles.
    • Nielsen Ratings for this same week 39 years ago May 5-11 1986. North & South Book II mini-series pre-empted a number of ABC shows. What the heck was NBC’s Fast Copy about?

    • I think the arrival of the Spauldings (Alan/Elizabeth/Phillip) caused the erosion of Sara's character on the show since Elizabeth took over Sara's place in the whole Justin/Jackie story.  Sara's brief marriage to another deceptive man sounded like it paled in comparison to the previous deceptive man story that she had played the decade beforehand.. and it was probably done because of the whole Alan/Jackie/Mike/Elizabeth cluster that took off story wise.   I know the show had introduced Brandy, the woman Justin cheated on Jackie with... but I don't believe she lasted more than a year.. and didn't make much of an impression. While the Dobson's were good at writing/juggling multiple characters/stories.. they weren't perfect though they did manage to make use of characters not in the front burner like Sara, Ann, etc. I do know that Sara/Adam looked to be starting up at the end of the Dobson era with a jealous/regretful Barbara looking on.. which played out during the Roger/Holly rape story and Hollys prison story.   I don't know if Marland was as inspired by that story when he took over
    • If you ever make it to the Paley Center in NYC (fka Museum of TV and Radio), in their viewing room, you can watch Days 1/1/73 featuring Denise Alexander as Susan. It’s her last month on the show before switching to GH.
    • Overall I was impressed with this week and fall out from the revealation.  I am looking forward to seeing the Nicole/Dana showdown next week.  I do wonder if June is going to be tied to Hayley.
    • I thought Adam and Sara got married? Although I do not remember any mention of her when Adam returned for Blake's weddings. But MA certainly got the short end of the stick storywise, as Marland's obsession with therapy reared it's head.
    • Didn’t Meg Bennett return to SFT as a writer in the last few years. I always wondered if they tried to get her back as Liza.
    • Millette Alexander got the short end of the stick once they killed off Joe. The Justin thing was a non-starter. Then she was briefly married to Alan's corrupt lawyer and HE was killed off. She was paired briefly with Adam and that ended because she believed Holly over Roger about the rape. Definitely, Marland had zero interest in her except as the therapist for the many, many of his female characters who needed therapy. It's not odd she left the show. One of the rare 1978 episodes on YT shows Alan going to Cedars for a physical check-up. He ends up with Sarah as his doctor. In between making mysoginistic comments about women doctors, he also openly flirts with her. It's very obvious they were chem testing Sarah and Alan. It's a really good scene. Bernau is both obnoxious and charming and Millette is amazing, trying to be pleasant and profesional without rolling her eyes at him, but at the same time maybe a LITTLE bit attracted to him. An interesting what-might-have-been. So it appears the Dobsons were actively looking for someone to pair her with, they just never found the right one for a long-term story.
