Patrick and Robin stole today's show. Wow, a lengthy, in-depth, heartfelt, yet funny scene of Patrick talking about his mother, when he had mumps at 11, how he loved to read, and how mom ripped out a sex scene in the "Jaws" book.

Loved that today was beyond HIV, and they needed it. And when the phone rang and Patrick would not let Robin answer because he didn't want the moment to end...mush. Loved their cuddling. And the kisses were good, too.

Add in Jaxis (my sweet Jaxis!), and I am very grateful for Karen Harris.

The Robin/Patrick scenes and Alexis stuff was the best part of today's show.

Y&R: Jamey Giddens & Dan O'Connor named co-head writers

They made Devon/Abby recurring and that works out OK-we see them from time to time .So I would be happy for Mariah/Tessa to be the same.
Sharon recurring could work if she was a presence at CL (please give that place a glow up and some customers)
If Faith returned that would give Sharon more to do as well as being talk to at CL.
Let's hope the new writers can make some positive impact. Anything is going to be better than what we have been subjected to these past few years.

Billy and Sharon would be tops on my list to drop. Maybe Sharon could get the Kate Linder contract. Their characters are pretty interchangeable at this point.

I really appreciate your posts. You always seem to bring a positive perspective, and it's refreshing to see someone focus on the good instead of adding to the noise.

I would dumb Tessa and Mariah (they won't let them do a lesbian story), Adam and Chelsea. I did want Sally gone but I am open to seeing where things go with this wedding. I know they have low guarantees but I'd go ahead and dump Lauren and Michael completely if the show is never going to give them a proper story. Rest them and bring them back when you want to actually do something with them.
I do love what @Vee said about Sharon. She'd be easy to either drop to recurring or give a low guarantee. Reunite her with Nick, let her work at Crimson Lights and transition them to a parent role. The partner hopping is stale with them.

-- The Chelsea and Adam meet-ups in restaurants are ridiculous, but so is everything else on this show, so that tracks.
-- Can does nothing but move from bar to bar, but then so does Billy. And so does Sally. And so does Audra. Sometimes Crimson Lights is thrown in there.
-- I was ready to complain that Nick's speeches about taking on Joe the Dealer were all offscreen, but then we got a 10-second B&W screen -- CINEMA VERITE!!! -- of Nick punching him. EMMYS FOR EVERYONE!!!
-- Does ANYONE care about Billy's bachelor party or Sally's bachelorette party? I know I don't.

In fairness Malone had expanded R.J. from just being dayplayer "Jimmy Glover" in '94 after noting his talent and the audience response to him. That's how he became a real character. But yes, it would've been a horrible mistake to end him there.

I haven't felt like watching in months. When was the train set last shown?

RJ is among those neglected so for that alone I’m thrilled Malone left at the time he did, not that what happened was much better. That all sounds horrendous and unfortunately there wasn’t another Malone/Gottlieb to advance these characters into further greatness.

What's worse than a scene with Joss or a scene with Trina?
A scene with Joss and Trina. They're both...
