So it is true. Marisa Ramirez has been let go. What a shame. This is a beautiful young actress and she is a very good actress too. The writing and the plotting for the Carmen storyline just wasn't working. Marisa being "too young" was such a crap copout to let go of someone. She did just fine. I wish they could reconsider this decision.

As far as a recast. I believe they should let the character just go away. Carmen was great on the eyes and a fine contrast to Dru and now with MR gone there really isn't a reason for a Carmen/Neil/Dru triangle.

Couldnt they tell when they cast her that she was too young for Jack? Seriously. Why does she even have to be in Jack's sphere. That was a flop and didnt work. I think she is fine agewise for Neil. She doesnt look too young there

As for a recast, if they want older, why not Florencia Lozano who played Tea on OLTL,Chrstina Chambers who was Maria on SuBe, or Ion Overman, ex Gabby from PC.

Christina Chambers? She's a horrible actress! She sucked on BEACH, and was horrendous as a recast Molly on ATWT. She can't emote to save her life. Plus she's not really Latino. They tried to pass her off as one on BEACH, but you could tell that she's not. She just kinda looked the part. But she would definitely be a step in the wrong direction for the character of Carmen.

I love the suggestion of Daphnee Duplaix Samuels! She's got such a sexy vibe on Passions, a very natural acting style, and can have chemestry with a desk lamp. She plays !@#$%^&*]y very well, I would love to see her battle Dru!

And she's recently free, snatch her Y&R!

I hate recasts. They ought to keep her in the role. She's a great actress.
