August 31, 200619 yr Member I don't care how much Orange is making. It still makes no sense to a show in a budget crisis. Every penny counts. That's a silly argument.
August 31, 200619 yr Member I agree, King. Tek is worthless so why they would spend ANYTHING on him is beyond me. When a business has to cut costs, it's a no brainer that they remove the deadwood FIRST.
August 31, 200619 yr Member Simple fact: Tek is a better love interest for Lexie. Ditch Abe, keep Tek.
August 31, 200619 yr Member Well I agree that Tek is a better lover for Lexie, but he constantly pressures/pressured her. The part I disagree about is ditching Abe. He's a great character on the show and I'm sure we'll be seeing much more of him.
September 1, 200619 yr Member Ditch Abe, keep Tek. Dump a 25 year vet with 2 emmy nominees for an underwear model... Well, that's definitely something Reilly would do.
September 1, 200619 yr Member We only have two black men on the show, and Rion thinks the one that should go is a 25 year-vet who can act should be dumped. I don't see the logic in this. The show is good right now and has the potential to blow all the other soaps out of the water...you're not going to achieve this by only focusing on hot bodies, young people, and newbies. Even though DAYS has done a good job with its casting in recent years.
September 1, 200619 yr Member Dump a 25 year vet with 2 emmy nominees for an underwear model... Well, that's definitely something Reilly would do. Well it is most likely what would happen now under Corday and Sheffer. If one of them had to be cut right now, due to the budget cuts they would choose to cut Abe - again because James Reynolds salary is higher then Orange's is. With budget cuts as big as their's was they have to cut the big salary. We fans got lucky. We may have seen more of our faves get cut. But we and Corday both sort of got lucky with the cuts. And that was because of the stars who chose to leave, they probably helped save some others from getting fired. And of course I am sure with Melissa Reeves, I still think she helped with Matthew Asford and Billy Warlock's firing. It just made it easier. I don't see how Reilly keeps being brought into the firings. When Reilly did his firings in the beginning, there were no real newcomers to get rid of except for Rex and Cassie and he did get rid of one of them. It was only then that he even introduced any new characters. And the whole time he was there he didn't create a whole lot of characters at all. He kept the show focused front and center on the vets of the show. Reilly can be accused of a lot of things, but ignoring the super couples or the long time characters was not one of them. Everyone of them was given a story (sometimes a crappy one) under him. Even Maggie and Mickey had their first story in years under him.

September 4, 200619 yr Member Thanks for sharing Cody! And damn if Darin brooks doesn't look fine in his picture on page 3.
September 4, 200619 yr Member Eeeeeeee. I am excited. I do worry about Sheffer doing too much at once. I agree JER's stories need to end. But it seems like it's a whirlwind change. I hope the stories wrap up and begin at a reasonable pace.
September 4, 200619 yr Member I'm confused. In the article, Hogan mentions his "co-head," Meg Kelly... does that mean this mysterious Meg Kelly is the new "Days" co-head writer. And if so, what the hell will Beth Milstein do then? Someone, please! Help!
September 4, 200619 yr Member I don't think Beth was ever intended or was said to be the co-headwriter.
September 4, 200619 yr Member Meg Kelly, far as I know, is going to be an associate. I tihnk Milstein's staying on, but I'm not sure. Toups?
