Young & the Restless: Gloria's Marriage to John

I was looking over the recent SOD, and they were asking head-writers of various soaps questions about some of the storylines they've done, and what direction some characters would possibly go through.

Being a big Y&R fan; I perked up when the question was asked about how "legal" was that second marriage John Abbott and Gloria had; and I myself got curious, since technically she was still married to Tom Fisher, since he was never truly declared "dead" nor did she get him to sign any papers to dissolve their marriage.

I think it would be wonderful, if it is found out that Gloria is truly not at all married to John as she thinks she is; that there was a BIG loophole that stated her marriage truly wasn't legal. It would serve her butt right, if she thought after all this time, she was going to get the power "that she mainly wants", but learned that she wasn't getting one red dime since her marriage wasn't truly legit. :lol:

I really truly hope that is the case because Gloria deserves nothing from the Abbotts. They owe her nothing and as sad as John dying is, at least now she won't have anyone from the Abbots in her corner anymore. Feed the lying !@#$%^&*] to the dogs. I cannot stand her and hope she truly gets what is coming to her, and that the skin cream scheme will all come out too. I want Gloria ran out of town!

I really hope they have Gloria paying for all her schemes...as well as that little mama's boy, Kevin.

I sometimes wonder if Joan Van Ark would have been this way if she were still in the role of Gloria. I mean, would she would have gone that far to get rid of Jack from Jabot...I sometimes think that if Joan were still in the role, she would have tried to make a play for Jack too;

Judith Chapman's Gloria just seems cartoonish to me; I guess it could be the way she does those eyes of hers whenever she's trying to get out of something or trying to scheme against someone.

I just hope that she goes down in flames for all the mess that she's done; and the sad thing is that John will die not realizing what a manipulative witch she truly is.

I agree on all counts. The thing a love most about JVA was that she showed how Gloria truly loved her sons and not for some purely selfish reasons like Chapman's portrayal. And I cannot stand Chapman's over-the-top, cartoon crap. I don't buy what she sells for one second.

As for Gloria and the legality of her marriage to John, I hope it wasn't legal, cause the !@#$%^&*] doesn't deserve a red cent. They can let her have the tainted skin cream left in storage. :lol:

Ooooh, I just thought of those dreams she was having when she was out on the street and Jack and Ashley passed her by.

I also remember the comment that Michael said to her when she was gloating that Jack would be out of Jabot; he made a comment about her possibly winding losing out on her wealth one of these days, or something like that.

During the time that Tom was on; I don't ever recall him signing anything or being told to sign anything to dissolve his marriage to Gloria...Plus, I strongly doubt Terrible Tom would give marriage to Gloria up as long as he could continue to milk her for cash. I hope this plays out, where there is an actual problem with her marriage to John the second time around.

Oh, yeah. Those daydreams. I know that was originally done during Jack Smith's tenure, but if I recall correctly, they brought it back up as a flashback recently. It would be SWEET if that was intended as foreshadowing.
