  1. GOP urges Trump to extend outreach to Black Voters http://www.nytimes.com/2016/08/16/us/politics/donald-trump-black-voters.html Seriously aren't these the same people who have been behind every attempt to restrict voting rights to exclude minority voters? I just can't with this lack of self awareness.
  2. And he claimed he did it to show the media bias lol. Seriously if this guy wasn't already an embarrassment to CNN. Zucker is a slime and must be so so proud.
  3. I'm not sure why this has not gotten more attention until now. It was reported before the GOP Convention that while Trump's campaign had very little involvement in scripting the GOP platform, the one area they did insist on having changed was softening the stance on Russia's involvement in the Ukraine. That's pretty dicey stuff. Where has the media been on this? Glad this is finally coming out. "Follow the money" was Deep Throat's mantra to Woodward and Bernstein and is ultimately what led to Nixon's resignation and almost impeachment. I hope this gets picked up everywhere.
  4. It's funny. But again his core supporters aren't going to move. In fact I think he could say he'd turn over the presidency of the US to Vladimir Putin and they would think it was great.
  5. You're not seriously believing anyone cares about this do you. I mean the hypocrisy here is just too transparent. A request from a campaign who refuses to release their own candidates returns. They are really becoming a laughing stock. Even moreso than they were just a week ago.
  6. As we continue to wait for the Donald to release his tax returns. By the way I don't believe there is anything underhanded. I do think it will show 2 things he doesn't want people to see. Very low tax rate and his income far from what he claims.
  7. I think the TV MSM wants to just keep it close so viewership will stay up. both networks (I don't count FN) did the same thing with Romney and McCain. They will find whatever polls they can find to show that the gap is tightening....plus I don't know why people rely on polls in the first place. Oh I don't think polls mean much at this stage but I am just waiting for someone in the MSM to jump on this and claim it's due to Trump acting more "Presidential" the past 3 days and Hillary again slipping up, when any viable assessment as to these so called actions would really take more than a few hours to even assess. I'm quite sure we really haven't seen the real impact of the Kahn situation, because it raises a lot more concerns than the MSM would like the public to believe, things I think that will become even more important the closer the election gets. I remember reading after the election in 2012 a post election debrief done by I believe the NYT. Trying to understand why the election results were far broader than expected, varying significantly off poll numbers and why. And there really was no clear answer other than validating the viability or lack of viability of poll numbers. What they did talk about was Obama's campaign team and why there were so confident they were going to win and win by as large a number as they actually did. It all tied back to the "boys in the basement" they called them(their crack technical team), who worked 24 hours a day, and were able to tell Obama's team where every single vote they were getting was from. I am going to assume Hillary's campaign has the same infrastructure in place. Trump's team I have no idea. I know voter turnout is actually going to be significant again and I go back to the fact that the GOP knew from 2012 they had to start looking at ways to diversify the party for having a viable chance to win the white house again, and they haven't addressed that at all. And with the 2020 census likely showing a greater demographic shift than even projected, I'd say they have a long way to go.
  8. New Reuters poll shows Hillary's lead drops to 3%. No real explanation as to why. http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-election-poll-idUSKCN10G2BQ Trump team hires the firm behind Brexit http://www.thewrap.com/donald-trump-campaign-brexit-move/
  9. I don't like the equivalency argument because it doesn't really push the narrative in any kind of positive direction. This week we saw Donald Trump lashing out at a Gold Star family and his supporters start talking about Hillary saying a Benghazi mother lied. It's an attempt to distort or divert the current issue and I don't think it works most of the time. But I don't think it's unreasonable to believe that there has been a concerted effort by the GOP to smear not only the Clinton's but our current president. And some of it has stuck, mostly on Hillary Clinton(note Bill Clinton is still well liked and my guess would be his trustworthiness would be much higher than his wife). If the investigations into Benghazi, Hillary's email, the Clinton's use of the White House Christmas card list(and the list goes on) were all done in the interest of National Security, than you would think hearings into a War in Iraq we never should have been in and were in allegedly due to faulty intelligence, costing 4,000 American lives would be a concern also. Granted I am a democrat, but I haven't seen the same venom on the left as I have seen on the right as it comes to aggressively attacking and smearing the other side. There is something about the Clintons, lying or not, perhaps that the GOP just hates and even our current president and it's more about them than being democrats IMO. I do agree that in the most recent interview, Clinton may have answered those questions differently had she believed that her responses would get far more attention than it did. But don't you believe that the GOP has gone after her and much of it as stuck because they know as a female, she's more vulnerable?
  10. Another sitting GOP member coming out against Trump. It's beautiful seeing the GOP implode. http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory/latest-campaign-chair-plays-trump-ryan-rift-41114454 "Rep. Adam Kinzinger of Illinois said the Republican nominee is "beginning to cross a lot of red lines of the unforgivable in politics." Kinzinger said on CNN Wednesday that he won't support Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, but suggested he may write somebody in at the polls or skip voting in the presidential race. Republican House members Richard Hanna of New York, Pennsylvania's Charlie Dent and Florida's Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and Carlos Curbelo have said they won't support Trump. Hanna has said he will vote for Clinton." " Clinton 49% to Trump 38% in Pennsylvania http://www.philly.com/philly/news/politics/presidential/20160804_Poll__Convention_boosts_Clinton_to_11-point_lead_over_Trump_in_Pa_.html
  11. Well Clinton sort of lucked out this week to an extent. She was called on her interview on Fox Sunday for her comments about Comey's findings on her which has sort of fallen under the radar with all the Trump drama this week. Plus more heads rolled at the DNC.
  12. Interesting that he might actually be blaming Manafort for his slippage in recent weeks. I don't think the messaging in response to the Kahn's was anything Manafort composed. Weren't his children the ones who convinced him to drop Lewandowski and hire Manafort to begin with? Indicates IMO how much influence his children have. But there has been speculation that he only brought Manafort on to get him through the convention and to help secure GOP support. I guess Manafort's job is done. And people like Ryan really believe that this man will stand behind anything he committed to them?
  13. I have to admit reading about the Trump rally's the sizes and the passion still makes me very nervous.
  14. Here's my question though: If Scarborough known this for months, why is just NOW saying something? Because he was yulking up to Trump for months as he appeared on his show regularly. Suddenly now since Trump dumped him, he's all "Trump is horrible".
  15. Hillary Clinton is also tied with Trump in Utah. Although there is still a ton of undecided voters who would likely go Republican, the fact that this is even happening is amazing. Ron Johnson, republican senator from Wisconsin, facing a tough race against Feingold for the Senate, calls on Trump to apologize to the Kahn's. http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/290266-swing-state-gop-senator-calls-on-trump-to-apologize
  16. I'm not surprised at the cowardice of the republican leadership. And I doubt many of these "leaders" are even aware that their toxic hatred and vendetta's against the opposition along with doing NOTHING but blocking legislation has contributed to this. Even now we can't get funding approved for Zika research and vaccine development because the nutwits in congress keep trying to add anti abortion elements to it. I am guessing what happened in Kansas is going to start flowing across the country gradually. You're already seeing voter ID laws being turned back for reasons I know many people have been aware of a long time. What surprises me even more is the lack of self awareness of the television media and their own role in all this. Joe Scarborough this morning again calls for republican leadership to denounce Trump. And his reasoning. Because Trump has been a democrat all his life. I mean really? He's still waiving that banner not the hate speech that the media played into for months now, trying to clean up every toxic word that came out of his mouth. Trump was quoted as saying years back if he ever ran for office he'd run as a republican because their voter base is dumb. Well that is at least one truth Trump has spoken.
  17. Same people who think Neville Chamberlain was a great Prime Minister. I think there are some who erroneously believe that Reagan and Gorbachev were buddy buddy, failing to see the only reason that relations were able to "stabilize" to an extent was because the Soviet Union was cracking under many years of communism and suppression and the United States were coming from a position of strength.
  18. Trump reaffirms support for warmer relations with Putin http://www.nytimes.com/2016/08/02/us/politics/donald-trump-vladimir-putin-russia.html "He professed disbelief that political opponents have said he should swear off Mr. Putin. “He said nice things about me,” Mr. Trump said. “Why would I disavow it? Why?” So I guess we should be friendly with Russia because he says nice things about Trump. This man's narcissism knows no bounds.
  19. No I don't and it would be bigger than just Hillary yes. Hannity has been spewing this for the past week.
  20. Hacked emails armed JIHADISTS in Syria http://www.dailywire.com/news/7960/wikileaks-hacked-emails-include-hillary-arming-james-barrett
  21. I honestly don't get why he and his campaign continue this deflection to Islamic terrorists? I don't believe in this case it's working and now he is accusing Mr. Kahn of being or wanting Islamic Terrorists to enter the United States?
  22. Sally Bradshaw, top Jeb Bush Advisor, leaves GOP. Will vote for Clinton if Florida vote is close www.cnn.com/2016/08/01/politics/sally-bradshaw-jeb-bush-donald-trump-florida/
  23. Many who have also expressed interest in voting for Donald Trump are delusional and believe that they can turn back the hands of time when White men felt they had more social and economic mobility, enough to be the sole breadwinner, and everyone else knew their place. For many of these people America was a better place and when they claim to want to 'take back the country', they essentially want to take America back to the 50s before the 'turbulent' years of Civil Rights, the Women's Movement and Gay Rights movements. So many have claimed that back then, a White man knew where he stood...basically at the top of the socio-economic hill. Any doubts, look at the demographic core of Trump voters and who constitutes his largest part of his voting constituency. Oh I definitely see a lot of this. The untrustworthiness and likability of HRC has been a factor from the very beginning. The two major things I hear from people supporting Trump are that and their complete disregard for any of the racist, misogynistic, homophobic, fear mongering garbage that comes out of his mouth because IMO they secretly love each word. I don't discount that there are people who feel left behind and are struggling. And you hear about that particularly from people in the rust belt states. But maybe it sounds cold on my part, but I do think some of these people are using that as their reasoning for supporting Trump as they embrace every vile word that comes out of his mouth. Some may not say it, but they do. Even GOP leaders, the 2 Mr. Kahn reached out to in his last interview, I don't believe for one second either of the two, even Paul Ryan who some have fooled themselves into thinking is some beacon of light, secretly love every word coming out of Trump's mouth that demeans those they have been indirectly demeaning politically and policywise for years. He's saying everything they would love to say but haven't for years. A friend of mine (white educated male) was supporting Trump. Nothing hateful between us, and his biggest issue is her trustworthiness. We've gone back and forth and nothing I pointed out mattered. He's also a conservative(and no he hates the tea party bullies). We had lunch yesterday and he finally admitted he just can't vote for Trump. I asked him what changed his mind. He watched the RNC and the DNC and said he had his come to Jesus moment when watching the Kahn's. But he said it was the buildup to that, Michael Bloomberg in particular who he is an admirer of, got to him. As did Joe Biden who he likes and believe it or not Tim Kaine. (all white males by the way but I left that thought on my part alone). He's now feeling almost ashamed for supporting Trump and finally acknowledged the man is mentally ill. Now he hasn't committed to voting for Hillary but one step at a time.
  24. Well technically he is right. But he forgot a few pesky little details like not paying those workers in the US in those thousands of jobs. And the other thousands who were paid live in China. -
  25. North Carolina voter ID law overturns. Determined to be racially discriminatory. http://www.nytimes.com/2016/07/30/us/federal-appeals-court-strikes-down-north-carolina-voter-id-provision.html?_r=0 Judge strikes down Wisconsin voter ID, early voting laws http://www.jsonline.com/news/statepolitics/judge-strikes-down-voter-id-early-voting-laws-b99767669z1-388708211.html I feel like I am living in an alternate universe. The GOP crumbling, voter ID laws being overturned.
