  1. Ugh I can't stand the fact that that cockroach Jeff Zucker is again considered some sort of wonderboy.
  2. So whether is matters or not, apparently MSNBC did an unskewed version of the CNN poll and it shows Hillary still up by 4 points. The CNN poll assumes that the voting electorate will be 50% non college educated whites, so that's what their sampling allegedly included. That's assuming I guess all the other polls showing Clinton still maintaining a lead look at the demographics in a more realistic way. Unless we assume that the voting population will consist of 50% non college educated whites. That seems unlikely considering 39% of the electorate consist of African Americans and Hispanics.
  3. I really wonder what's going to happen at Fox. Murdoch's sons allegedly want to make it more impartial and more a real news channel. I guess perhaps they can take over from what CNN was once upon a time.(well sort of)
  4. I want an honest opinion from some here. What do you think Hillary Clinton can be doing to shore up her campaign and the Trumpster than she is doing now. There seems to be a feeling among a lot of people that she isn't doing enough. I actually have confidence in her campaign, but maybe I'm naïve and there is trouble on the horizon. The only thing I am really worried about are the debates because I think all that Trump has to do is show up and not say anything stupid and be declared the winner.
  5. So Vee brought up the NYT Op Ed piece by Klugman, Clinton's campaign is finally touching on the "false equivalency" issue, and while I hate to see HRC going into the gutter like Trump, I'm glad to hear that each time she talks to the press she injects something related to Trump's unfitness and hypocrisy. Josh Marshall's latest piece on the Biondi "pay for play" bride Trump gave her to drop the Trump University case http://talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/trump-lying-about-bondi-already This is now still being soft peddled in WaPo and I am assuming the NYT will finally pen something on this, but people are not letting it go and my guess is this is one item Clinton's campaign is not going to let go. It sickens me by the way how the media(the print media included) are so overblowing the Clinton Foundation alleged issues. This is an organization that got a A from Charity Watch(higher than the Red Cross by the way) and has done positive things for people all over the world and the media has no ethics. But not one bit of coverage about Trump University scamming thousands out of money. I am shocked the cases in Texas and Florida where Trump made donations to both and the cases dropped has gotten zero attention. I wish outlets like TPM, Mother Jones, Rolling Stone would get in touch with some of the former students in Florida and Texas and find out how these poor consumers have been hung out to dry by their so called "representatives". With all Trumps shady dealings an stiffing people, this is the one I find most disgusting and how the media can turn a blind eye is equally appalling. They try to hold Clinton responsible for a foundation that does positive work yet Trump gets away with a multitude of crimes. CNN had a round table on the false equivalency discussion and I found myself actually agreeing with Soledad O'Brien. Why was Clinton's speech a few weeks back, where she just stated facts so unfair yet Trump gets away with time after time calling her a bigot with zero facts.
  6. I find it hysterical that the "liberal" media is grasping onto HRC's un-likability numbers since Trump is still far behind in the polls. So it's not HRC is ahead by 8 points, it's HRC is still struggling with her likability numbers and Trump is still trying to find his stride(no mention of Trump's offensive behavior as being a cause). My brother who can't stand HRC but is voting for her talked about how CNN is in the can for HRC and I had to give him a detailed synopsis of how they haven't covered one thing in terms of her agenda, like the comprehensive health care plan she released last Monday but yet continues to talk about the foundation and her emails. He finally acknowledged that perhaps the press is not as hair as he thought. (rolls eyes).
  7. Boy that stuff is pretty amazing. The far reaching impact and events this man was complicit in directly or indirectly is terrifying.
  8. So the debate moderators selected. Thoughts? https://www.howardstern.com/news/2016/9/2/presidential-debate-moderators-selected-anderson-cooper-gets-called-upon-first-time/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=cstco
  9. Interesting "The proposed answers were devised by aides working for the Trump campaign and the RNC. according to an official who has been involved in the planning but declined to be identified while speaking about confidential strategy." This campaign staff must still be a mess with this leaked. And funny for a man who wants the press to hang on his every word, no press. I don't buy any AA person is fooled by an attempt by the man who tried repeatedly to de-legitimize the country's first black president.
  10. Trump is up by 1 over Clinton in National Rasmussen poll Clinton spent most of August fundraising and raised $143 million dollars in August.
  11. It's gone beyond IMO wanting it to be a contest. They give him non stop coverage. Even one of his surrogates basically admitted the trip to Mexico was a ploy to keep him in the news cycle. And they cover all his rally's live on each news channel. It's actually disgraceful that they still try the fake impartiality BS and continue to remind viewers how unpopular HRC is and don't call him out. If this man is elected, they are all complicit in it, like with Adolf Hitler and how Goebbels controlled the media. Seriously why does he need to spend campaign money on ads or have a ground game when he has the media playing right into it.
  12. So basically some surrogate from Trumps campaign on Morning Joe this AM admitted the trip to Mexico was Bannon's idea to keep Trump in the media cycle. I know we keep talking about what comprehensive ground game Hillary has and Trump doesn't but why bother when the media gives him round the clock daily coverage. Trump is smart in that he knows the media could care less about what's good for the country. All they care about is money and rating. This is the part that scares me the most about this campaign.
  13. US Main Stream Media busily looking for false equivalency with HRC so they don't get accused of bias before reporting this "mistake" on Donnie's part.
  14. Another great day of African American outreach by the Trumpettes. I really want to see the AA vote at an alltime high this election. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/ex-kkk-head-david-duke-sends-robocalls-promoting-donald-trump-article-1.2770293?utm_content=buffer6878b&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=NYDailyNewsTw
  15. I agree with u and i do realize Clinton has the most comprehensive campaign. I just meant personalay she hasn't done the same level of appearances and I think she and high profile personnel stumping her haven't really started yet. Bernie for example is doing a high profile rally on Labor Day. I don't believe the election will be close. With Trump behind on all demographics other than non college educated white males, I do wonder who the polling organizations are talking to.
  16. Both conventions were also later in 2012 which meant a shorter general election csmpsign. Hillary Clinton IMO hasn't really started aggressively campaigning yet. Trump is doing 4 times more events than she is. I don't think this country will elect a Donald Trump but we all still need to vote.
  17. Waiting for a response from that "liberal media" who tried turning Hillary's beautiful speech into some hate fest against poor Trump. Might we have Chris Matthews again saying Hillary went too far when presented with more evidence of this man's bigotry and hatred or will this further shame him as Andrew Weinstein finally managed to. I'm more and more with Charles Blow. These so called "journalists" are insulting minorities to the nth degree by giving Trump any latitude on his hateraide and are showing themselves as racists.
  18. Thanks for sharing Vee. It's a shame it was necessary. I think the moments that will resonate is when she talked about the children at schools trying to intimidate minority athletes using racial slurs and Trump campaign signs, like if a presidential candidate can do his why can't I. And also the quotes from various leaders in the GOP(the Dole one really stuck me) over the years against racism and bigotry really stuck out. She did a great job IMO. I always feel both Clintons do so well when faced with adversity and particularly when backed into a corner.
  19. I wish one of these so called " journalists" would have the guts to ask him while all these appeals to black voters are being made at rally's held in only white communities and with 99 percent white peoples in attendance. I'm sickened the media is giving this ploy one bit of legitimate attention. And ABC should also be ashamed of themselves acting like this guy has really changed or evolved in any way.
  20. So Trumps new strategy is to try and convince enough of the white suburban voters Hillary Clinton is a bigger bigot than he is with his tirades? I have no doubt that strategy came from his Brietbart buddy.
  21. Clinton opens campaign office in Utah http://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/28724-the-politics-thread/?page=456
  22. I didn't think Powell was suggesting that, I've seen people say that Hillary is blaming a "black man." She's gone down to 84.1 on Nate Silver's election forecast. You do realize in 2012 Obama was around 55% over the many weeks before the election before the final 60 days where that number turned around over time. I'd say 84% is a pretty healthy number at this point and it's going to shift over time. I keep saying wait for the debates because that's the only time I believe you are really going to start seeing any huge shift in polling numbers or in this. More dirt about Hillary and her email stuff isn't going to change anything because people already have their minds made up on that. And yes I do believe a lot of the population aside from the diehards have become tone deaf to it. It's fine for the GOP to keep it in the public eye but they have a secondary motive(or primary IMO) in trying to keep the senate from going democratic. As for Trump personally I think he's beyond the point where he is able to gain any type of more mainstream support. All this hype about pivoting, yet he gives a speech in Wisconsin about the African American vote to an audience that's 100% white. The election is not over by any means, but I am actually feeling a lot more confident than I was before the Khan family debacle. I don't think he had or has the capacity to overcome that. Clinton's team is pulling their ads out of states like Virginia and Colorado and word is because they have a large lead, have confidence in their voting base, and also want to focus on states not only that they need to win but also states that have the critical senate races that might help turn the senate to the democrats. Trump has no ground game and doesn't seem interested in creating one. That's going to be critical. I live in Illinois and one of those senate races is here. Mark Kirk is a sitting GOP senator and Tammy Duckworth a very popular war vet/congresswoman against him. The race currently is neck and neck according to polls but the GOP has already given in on this race. Duckworth is very popular here and attacking her on her service record(she lost both her legs in Iraq) is one way her congressional opponent lost to her when she ran for congress.
  23. This is the GOP's tactic to reach out to the African American community? I'd laugh if it wasn't so tragic.
  24. eMails show Trump advisors waged covert influence campaign on behalf of Pro-Russian Ukrainian leadership http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/politics/ct-trump-advisers-lobbying-ukraine-russia-20160818-story.html
  25. The NYC Parks I guess removed the statue. Their reasoning: “NYC Parks stands firmly against any unpermitted erection in city parks, no matter how small.”
