  1. I actually have a tad of empathy for him. I know he's a horrible man and has been his entire life, but to have a family who just uses and abuses you like this is sad. Yes it's his fault. Say what you will about Reagan(ie I don't believe he was ever this bad) but at least he had people around him who actually gave a damn about him. His wife in particular. These leeches will keep pumping Trump up with drugs until the very end. And the other thing, the Beltway people including lawmakers must know how impaired he is. As do members of the press. It's fricking malpractice for all of them, those who swore an oath to the constitution to perpetuate this lie. This is not Woodrow Wilson times for goodness sake.
  2. I just can't with Michael Bloomberg. What an arrogant *uck. GET OUT OF THE RACE YOU TOOL. He just announced on television he bought all those new congresspeople who were elected in the house on National TV, many who are women. I volunteered for one of them, Lauren Underwood, who is one of the best most productive new members of the house. She got help from the DCCC but not his lord and master. And the only person of note nationally who came to campaign for her here in Illinois along with campaigning for Sean Casten, another red district flipped to blue rep, was Joe Biden. By the way no matter what the race, these 2 seats are not flipping back. Lauren and Sean have both worked their districts hard - townhalls on weekends. I can vouch for Lauren, her approval in her district is just over 60%. I can't speak for other flipped districts, but it does matter to constituents that you listen to them and try to help them. Both their GOP predecessors used to flee regularly from constituents.
  3. It was more important to the media to rip every other candidate to shreds and drive them out. Warren is the latest victim. I'm glad it's coming out now. And I hope it continues. I really want Warren - I think she'd kill Trump in a head to head debate but I am now leaning more towards Biden after months. I still have reservations, but that last CNN townhall he did was exceptional. Nothing would get done during his tenure as president legislatively - but just his foreign relations experience could help at least start the repair work there. And I while I think Warren might be better, I think he could unify the silent majority at least - that's the forgotten center of the country James Clyborn from SC is going to endorse Biden. That's a big deal and a win in SC would really help the reset. That campaign needs to stop the unforced errors.
  4. I don't think Pence can beat Sanders. He has the charisma of a rock. I think back to the Romney vote on impeachment. Mark my words, he will be the choice. We can say it was a principled vote but it was also calculated. The GOP knows Trump is on his way WAY WAY down. Now come on Sanders is right now the frontrunner. As for Biden, the media bent over backwards for months at the expense of Castro, Booker , and especially HARRIS. This is Biden's third rodeo. If he sweeps the southern states he's easily back in the game. If he wins SC, I would love to see commercials with Bernie threatening to challenge Obama
  5. I really think it is about Warren. He clearly hates her and he donated to both GOP opponents she ran against. He's waiting for her to drop out. He also donated to a bunch of GOP senate candidates in 2016 as well. Barf!!
  6. I can't stand Bloomberg and one reason is this. He claims he has a warehouse full of oppo research on Sanders. Where the heck is it? And this Obama nuggets is the easiest one to fully turn off black voters period and a lot of white voters(not sure about latino). So why isn't Bloomberg dropping these bombs in commercials? Are they afraid those people would gravitate to Warren who is likely more electable? Everytime I hear people saying Sanders it the most popular politician in America I think people forget the one who really is - Barack Obama.
  7. Those of you talking about not voting STOP IT. There are more races than just one. Same reason I had an issue with Kaepernick's so called moral stand when he acted like not voting for Hillary or Trump was some big stand. You all do realize there are other races on the ballot, races likely even more important., We have to keep the house and gain the senate. Don't vote for president fine but absolutely do not sit out. We have state legislative races to vote for also.
  8. In the meantime talking about money, Bernies Our Revolution behaves like one and seems to fall under the radar. Who knows who donates including foreign influence. https://apnews.com/345bbd1af529cfb1e41305fa3ab1e604 Could you imagine what Bernie Sanders supporters would have done to FDR who was himself a rich elitist or the Kennedy family?
  9. Yeah it does if you read what Carville said.. I heard a lot of this about 2018 and being out in the field working for one candidate who actually beat a GOP incumbent, Lauren Underwood, nothing on twitter or the doomsday media machine for democrats matched what was going on in campaigns. I am not saying there are not problems now. Carville even asked why not one democrat mentioned on Friday about Trump cutting social security and medicare. Now it's in his budget so there is no excuse. The saving grace is at least Bloomberg is not afraid of Trump and likely has commercials already cued up to run. Listen I am not naïve enough to believe Trump can't win and Bernie won't help F it up, but I refuse to give into the standard quitter mentality democrats seem to be labeled with. Maybe it's because I live in Illinois where I see how cutthroat democrats can play. Sometimes I think the national party needs the Illinois and New York Democratic Machines backbone. I said earlier Rahm Emanuel was a lousy mayor of Chicago but he can play as dirty as anyone. he learned from the best and dirtiest politician in Illinois, Mike Madigan, and is an SOB, which is why he was a great COS for Obama initially.
  10. James Carville who I am no lover of said it on MSNBC. Trump gets wiped out in the 2018 elections, they lose 7 governorships, lose both houses in Virginia to democrats last year, 2 more governorships in states where Trump campaigned right before (in KY Bevin polled 5 points ahead of Brashear before Trumps visit), yet Trump is winning. He said MSNBC where he was appearing must be in the tank for Trump if they think that's winning while looking directly at Stephanie Ruhle. She was speechless. I suppose if all those election losses are a win for Trump then he's winning. The issue is that Trump doesn't really care about anyone else losing. And no I don't think this is the worst slate of democrats. The issue is the same as it was for the GOP in 2016 TOO MANY CANDIDATES. And Buttigieg not answering questions with specific plans. I guess no one pays attention to how most people run in an election. The only ones roped into issuing specific plans are Hillary, because she's a policy wonk and loves it, and Warren who while brilliant and relatable, keeps getting trapped into releasing hers. The endless "the sky is falling" from democrats is frankly exhausting.
  11. I actually agree with Bernie's positions on a number of things including medicare 4 all. Not his approach though, I think Sherrod Brown had the right idea in lowering the age on Medicare to 55 or 50 because it would have either made the free market more competitive and affordable or it would have led to a full universal healthcare system. I also agree with an aggressive approach on Climate Change but not the New Green Deal which has unreachable goals, I also agree with him on foreign policy in that we should use diplomacy and human rights and stop supporting people like the Saudi's. We don't need their oil anymore and frankly could care less about a monarchy that enabled 9/11 to happen. I also support the Palestinians and the Israeli's who want a diplomatic solution that allows for co-existence. I think Warren was on board with all of this, Warren who is tons more affable. Bernie's worst asset are his thuggish supporters who demonize anyone who doesn't support him, can't handle any criticism, and have no idea how to build a coalition and Bernie enables them.
  12. Hillary got 96% of black women. Trump got 15% I think of black men. So we need to get those fools in order. Of course nothing is worse than traitorous white women voting for the *ussy grabber I think it's an example of a party trying to find its identity with a big tent. We don't have an Obama this time or even a Hillary who understood when to step out and quickly endorse the voters choice. Maybe I;m being hard on Biden, but if he's having issues with a 37 year old candidate, that's a Biden issue. No one is challenging Biden on the Ukraine nonsense are they? We are approaching the second primary. I expect Yang to drop out after NH and sadly Klobuchar probably will too. none of this is out of the ordinary at this stage in a primary. The problem is it's already been over a year of non stop coverage of the race. Frankly it's exhausting. I get so tired of James Carville but he's right about one thing. The DNC needs an SOB running it. (not what he said my translation). And thankfully Rahm Emmanuel no longer our mayor is available. This is what he's actually good at.
  13. I guess we see things differently. They're playing for each others voters. All of them went after Sanders and laid off Warren this time. I really don't understand the angst over this. I remember Obama vs Clinton and that was a nasty primary. This has all been mild and nothing is being said preventing anyone from endorsing the other. The only one I expect to make an issue out of anything is the same as 2016 - Sanders.
  14. As soon as I saw the authors of this I didn't bother to read it. More BS from 2 of his 3 propagandists at the Times. Replace Martin with Peter Baker you would have had all 3. The Suburbs. You mean pro choice, pro gun reform voters? Those who hate his immigration policies, those who live in states like mine who got hit with his tax scam by limiting the prop and state tax deductions.(property taxes in formerly red DuPage and Will counties in Illinois are way over the cap). I already know black women are too smart to vote for him but black men? Well that was higher in 2016 because as Dr. Dyson says, black men are as misogynistic as white men are if not more.
  15. Klobuchar has experience which is important to me as a voter. I want to support Warren, but she's over and over again allowed herself to be trapped into doing things that have hurt her. But which moderates are tearing each other apart? Frankly remembering the Obama/Clinton primary this has all been milktoast. 2016 was all Sanders attacking, as Clinton laid back. That tactic backfired. I have said from day 1 I don't think Biden can win. You know as well as I do his past runs for president. And that was before all this Ukraine garbage. But frankly no one has really come after Biden until a bit more last night and even then, Buttigieg of all people gave a very passionate defense of him . One of the few times Buttigieg seemed to go unscripted.
  16. I may be one of the few who watched tonights debate but Amy Klobuchar wiped the floor IMO. She looked "presidential". She was calm and decisive. Presidential is the first time I have said this in any debate about anyone. I hope she lasts. I thought Buttigieg did well outside of his stumbles on race(being facetious I think his answers were AWFUL). Yeah that was a big deal and he should be at this point prepared for those questions. Yang got shafted again, tom Steyer have no idea what he is doing, Biden had a couple of good moments. If Amy is still around when Super Tuesday comes my vote is with her.
  17. Buttigieg won by 1/10th of a point. Bernie bought a commercial saying he won since he got 6,000 more votes. Funny how the vote count matters to him now. Didn't seem to when Hillary got 4 million more votes than he did in the primary.
  18. With Trumps failing health which Marceline said NO ONE IN THE MEDIA is reporting on it, he won't live long enough to see anything much less justice being served to him or his family. This idea that there is some legacy when his following is all about the cult of personality is kind of funny and scary in a way. I feel a bit more charitable toward McCain than I do Romney but neither were/are profiles in courage. Although in all fairness to McCain, he did vote "no" on overturning the ACA. That earns him a little more empathy. Romney well if it helps sink people like that hypocrite Susan Collins and McSally, more power to him. Cory Gardner I believe already knows he's losing Colorado. The one with courage was Doug Jones. He's likely to lose Alabama and this will likely seal it. But what a thing to have to say that someone is heroic for honoring their constitutional oath.
  19. Oh yeah sorry. We have a very robust voting system. We have auto registration that happens when you apply for a license, early voting that is easily accessible across the state, no voting purges like other states do, and easy mail in voting. The chaos would be the candidates all over the state endlessly for months. I am sure our Governor would love it lol.
  20. Actually our new Governor already talked about that and tweeted about it today. I am not sure I would like the chaos but at least we do have minority populations that our democratic and yes AA and Latino public servants who are part of the machine in Illinois ignore.
  21. I predicted 2 months ago Buttigieg would win this. What’s hilarious if he does is that Sanders team that fought so hard at keeping them in place don’t understand them. Buttigieg and Warren were both high as second choice candidates. Sanders was ahead in the first round but people who had to move after their candidate did not make 15% went to Buttigieg and Warren. Bernie was polling dead last as a second choice. Funny how Bernie might win the “popular” vote yet lose the caucus.
  22. I think Iowa blew their status. And I could care less.
  23. Lamar Alexander is worth 20 million dollars. For these greedy SOB's it's not enough.
  24. You know I respect the work that hes doing in Brazil but it's hard to care about this happening to him when he dismisses actions elsewhere that hurt so many millions of people in places like Russia, Syria, and China. A lot of us can agree the US has a terrible history of intervention and the motives are never about democracy, but with Greenwald the choice is always binary, the US doing bad things doesn't make Russia, China, or Syria victims.
  25. They are already experiencing their own recession and the stupid tariffs certainly haven't helped. Nafta part 2 was a big waste of time, although it did require wage hikes and improvements on labor conditions in Mexico so I guess good for them.
