Not sure I agree with you on this one. To be sure, the storyline had its issues, but I was recently rewatching some 1999 ATWT and Ben/Denise/Camille are all very frontburner... more frontburner than I'd remembered, even. I recently watched one where Denise had a flashback to her one night stand with Andy and it was pretty sexy! And, I mean, they did give her a child with the son of Kim and John. Give them some credit. On the flip side, maybe the sad thing is I grew so used to the shaft CBS daytime has given black characters for 20 years now that seeing a CBS soap do the bare minimum was shocking/impressive to me.

Lololol, I am cackling. I thought this storyline was awful at the time, but now it's circled back around to so bad it's good. I mean, it's at least more interesting than anything else Margo did in the last 10 years or so.

I kept thinking how much more likable B&B Lauren was compared to Y&R Lauren. And she looked great!

I've been watching 1988 clips on YouTube. The Sonni/Solita storyline is often called one of the best GL storylines ever. And it totally holds up. The character is just so fascinating and Michelle Forbes' performance is a tour de force. You cannot tell where the con artist and her plethora of lies end and where the honest, real person begins. It's really just such a unique character and performance. And I love how fleshed out her backstory and motivations are and that's she's not just some cartoon villain. This is like a daytime psychological thriller. We've never seen anything quite like it on daytime since.

Somehow in alll these years of ATWT fandom, I never heard about CZ's reputation. But I'm OK with it. The person who brought us Barbara probably should be a bit of a diva.

I can definitely picture Joseph Cross. He had a big growth spurt and just showed up one day during the Margo Hepatitis C storyline like 6 inches taller than the last time we'd seen him. I have zero memory of Ian Boyd and Peter Vack in the role. Or Scott Porter for that matter. But Joseph Cross, Zach Roerig, and Billy Magnussen were all memorable to me.

I love when soaps re-record the same scene with a recast. There used to be a Brenda Dickson/Jess Walton one on YouTube that was to die for.

Kamala Harris has had the strongest performance of any candidate thus far, IMO. Bernie and Biden are doing fine, but I don't see them doing anything to appeal to those outside of the people who already support them.

I love how Delaney keeps begging to speak and then the moderators are like, "ugh, fine, you can have thirty seconds, I guess, but then don't say anything for a while." 😂 But you can't blame them because he does nothing with the little time they give him. Why is he running?

I mean, that is a totally unfair question to Bernie or any candidate over a year before the convention. “Oh nobody has voted yet, but will drop out if you lose?” The message that he is seeking to undermine the presumptive nominee and contest a convention is underlying in that question, when he didn’t last time, and it is way too soon to assume he would this time. Idk. I hate that question. It would be different if it were June 2020 and he were asked that question and he was in 2nd place. “Are you gonna stay in this and harm the presumptive nominee?” Fair question. In June 2019, “if you’re hypothetically in 2nd a year from now, will you drop out?” FOH. That’s not a fair question.

My goodness. I have always disliked her, since she worked at the AVclub. With this piece of writing, I dislike her even more. Season 1 of The Handmaid's Tale was quite good. Season 2 was quite bad. What will season 3 be? I have no idea based on this review, because Emily spends the entire time talking about herself, just like she has always done.

Passions did better in the demos, though, didn't it? ^Not trying to be an [!@#$%^&*] with this comment. Just saying, the decision to cancel AW was right from an economic standpoint by the time you got to 1999. We can still hate NBC and P&G for letting it get so horrible in the first place.

It honestly felt to me at the time like this couldn't happen because TPTB didn't remember where they left these characters and couldn't be bothered to check.
