ALL: Character's heyday vs Character's low point
Well, darn. It is the song that was playing while Philip was kidnapping the kids & bulldozing Harley's house & stuff that totally crazed day. It works for me but I bet that's because I have the MP3 file on my computer. I will look for it on spotify. Get back to ya. Got it!

"Secret Storm" memories.
You may have seen this but I just discovered it. At The Secret Storm they were next to Captain Kangaroo in Liederkranz Hall & so animals were often on the set. Jada Rowland reported watching a cow chase the director Gloria Monty the entire length of a hall. David O'Brien said that people had a lot of fun playing tricks on Gloria. One day they put a chimpanzee in the control room & everyone but her had so much fun with it. "She was always on the edge of hysteria. She was a terribly good director, but anything that had fur & crawled around made her hysterical."

ALL: Errors, Myths, Omissions & Firsts that weren't
Last year, on the Y&R50 Primetime Celebration 2 incorrect things were claimed. Each of them, to knowledgeable soap fans seem ridiculous! 1. That Ashley Abbott had the first abortion. Truly laughable. The first was an illegal one, on AW, Pat Matthews. The second is largely unknown, but on SFT Kathy went to NY in 1970 & got an abortion. I exchanged messages with Courtney Sherman Simon who played Kathy in researching this. (Also have documentation in a soap mag & verification from a SON poster.) The third is most often cited as the first, unfortunately, and it is a legal Roe v. Wade 1973 abortion on AMC for Erica. 2. That it was Bill Bell who introduced social issues as storylines on soaps. Again, love Bill Bell & he did many things, but not this one! No, Agnes Nixon is definitely the first on this! (And, IMO, she was also the best at it, with Claire Labine nipping at her heels.)

Here we have Brooke Kerr, one of the most beautiful people on the show, in daytime, and also a talented nuanced actress who is given really difficult & awkward things to play & she's married to this guy who - because of his real life attitude - half of the time acts like a jerk about her being his scene partner. You see, he is one who has an exceptionally high opinion of himself & he thinks he rates a bigger star to be paired with. I think he really seriously thinks Genie is his "due". But, he might also be assuaged if they gave him Maura. I'm just guessing at who he would consider "good enough" to work opposite. He is one of the people where it's an open secret that they have 'tude. @Beachstorm

I know what you're thinking of. It will not die! It apparently cannot be killed or corrected. The myth is that when Agnes Nixon left Guiding Light & went to Another World, which was in danger of early cancellation, she took the Gregory family that James Lipton had created on a plane & killed them off in a plane crash. Never happened! No one ever killed people in a plane crash on Another World. Also Agnes Nixon never wrote that anywhere for any soap.

I mean, was it just me or was that scene directed just a whole helluva lot more sexy & hot than, geeze, to compare I have to go to GL Philip & Olivia directed by Bruce Barry. Kudos to Sonia for the way she directed that love scene! I felt like finally we look like a streaming soap! I applaud Sloan finally having this insight into herself. Of course she's right that they've gotta let the baby self-soothe but who could concentrate on making love with the sound of a baby crying right there so close to hand. They desperately need a bigger apartment with a room or even a cubby hole to use as a nursery. I'm sure their sexual activity wakes the baby. GH never did the blanket thing. However, they did have some of the biggest newborns ever seen. And, was it just me or were the scene less chopped up. It seemed more to flow. I suppose that Janet could've made production changes just as soon as she had the position. But, I did like it. I just think you can almost feel Alex getting more & more jealous with every passing moment. Somehow this hard-hitting journalistic approach doesn't seem like the Salem newspaper to me

About AW, the St. Croix remote, about the poisoning of Mac & fight between Rachel & Janice Frame, it was in 1980.- GH: O’Connor/Van Etten OUT! Mulcahey/Korte IN!

Curlee would have been beyond fabulous at GH about that time. I really hate that she never got back in. I never felt like I knew whether she said that as a face-saving measure or whether she too had become exhausted. I do believe that these 2 jobs, EP & HW, on today's (and yesterday's) soaps is stressful & taxing & it really takes it out of people. Fighting with the network, fighting for your people & trying to put on an hour of good television 250 days a week, let's face it, is extreme. Probably at the time & also looking back she saw that she had burnt out. PC was her idea but they should have put someone else good in place to implement her idea. Two shows is one too many to produce! I, too, would have liked to see the Claire Labine soap & that is also true at NBC. I'd have picked Claire's show instead of SUNSET BEACH.- DAYS: January 2024 Discussion Thread

Yikes! So sorry! I got a brand new computer for Christmas & have been transferring files. I've finally got all the images. But lately I haven't been able to work on transferring other files because things have been too weird.- DAYS: January 2024 Discussion Thread
Jason47 has posted today that we should not be seeing his name on the credits anymore! July 14 was his last day & now we are through with him! The Monster is gone from our screens! I absolutely, positively cannot believe that Brady had a flashback to what he himself had said 15 minutes before. That is such an awful sign.- GH: O’Connor/Van Etten OUT! Mulcahey/Korte IN!
Wendy Riche is and was a treasure! Angela Shapiro was a fool to fire her. Of course her farewell was not long after. Because I am cynical I thought that ABCD had run Claire off & WR explained to me that Claire was totally exhausted & it was her choice. - 1970s Trends
