  1. Wow, thanks, Taoboi. 😊 The truth is, I come on here to read the rest of you all's opinions about Potomac! Potomac brings out a lot of great posts. I should warn you that my eyes were ~blinded~ by Gizelle's highway hooker look (the invitation said 'dominatrix', but clearly Gizelle didn't get that memo). So I may have missed some things. In any case, my feelings are unchanged. Karen and Ashley don't give a single f*ck what any of the women think of them, and they are not here for Gizelle, Robyn, Candiace, Wendy's agenda-driven camera-work. Like Kyle Richards, Candiace has found her sweet spot as professional victim. I see Bravo has trotted out an After Show segment entitled 'Candiace Explains Her Pain.' In the words of Ramona: Candy Ass won't stop saying Monique belongs in jail. That is the reason Ashley agreed to a statement, and the reason Candy Ass does not have the audience's unconditional support. "Every morning I wake up wondering what she's going to say about me!" Ironic considering the way Candiace goes Cujo on Twitter. I bet a number of people, including Ashley, felt similarly about Candiace's social-media attacks. Gizelle has been setting up Karen all through this trip. The irony of Gizelle saying Karen 'picked the wrong side.' Honey, unfortunately, you are not as clever as you think you are. We See You. I was almost enjoying Wendy (and her fashion) until the last 5 minutes. Total dumbass. Next week, too. Why is this loud mouth, who only joined the show 5 minutes ago, acting like she knows everything about everybody? Sit your thirsty ass down! Robyn is a bully's sidekick, and that's all she is. She will kick you when she thinks nobody else is looking. She has no real agenda, but will piggyback on everybody else's because she loves a gang-up. As for the age BS about Karen, this is the same sh!t Rinna pulled with LVP for years. I personally love a mixed cast in terms of age, race, background, etc. The age difference between Karen and Gizelle is smaller than the one between Giz and Robyn. And Robyn acting like she's some trendy youngster when she is no spring chicken herself. Karen - 57 Gizelle - 50 Robyn - 41 Monique - 37 Wendy - 36 Candiace - 33
  2. I've long felt this, and possibly have mentioned it here, but it is literally like watching Jim Jones and his cult followers at Jonestown. Only on a much larger scale. And that is really, really worrying.
  3. Nobody can dress for sh!t on this cast! And i love every minute of it! Where to start? Wendy's Project Runway reject gown is literally 3 different outfits in one. Ashley sewed her eazy-wipe kitchen tablecloth onto her swimsuit. Karen had to disentangle herself from a giant spider's web. Candiace is somebody's birthday present.
  4. SLC Wooooooooooooooo. TT has an article transcribing a Reddit post about Mary's Faith Temple shenanigans and IT 👏IS 👏A 👏DOO 👏ZY! Seeing all these churches wielding so much power, especially on the political stage, religion really is a conman's game to rake in $$$$$$$. I have a psychologist friend and if she watched RHOP, I know what she would say. Candiace has mama issues. My friend would be like: 'Candiace is punishing/rejecting the mother figure in her life because she feels powerless to do that with her own mother.' @Gray Bunny Candiace's reactions bother me and you have put your finger on why. Her attitude *is* stank, and it also feels like she practiced it in the mirror beforehand. If those Sunset Boulevard turbans are anything to go by, she thinks of herself as some kind of seen-it-all RH diva. I know no tea but I did hear about this 2 months ago. Jackie had a hissy fit about her marriage being this season's parlor game. Sigh. Honestly -- and this is a highly unpopular opinion -- I kind of wish Siggy would come back with her hormonal crazy. Margaret would be so pissed! What would be great would be to see a dissection of Bravo and how it treats POC, but with the exception of Nene (who will probably be dropping elephant-sized 'naming no names'), I cannot see G and E deciding to anger their new employer. Lisa Rinna would argue that she is doing all she can to secure her daughters' financial futures. I've said for a long time that she strongly emulates momagers like Kris Jenner and Yolanda Foster. What makes me sad is that Rinna does not have much imagination. She does a copy-paste facsimile of whatever KJ and YF did, but she cannot conceive of any other avenues for her kids outside of Instagram 'model.' Amelia Hamlin seems like she has a couple of braincells to rub together. This past season she came across as self-aware and introspective. If she didn't have her anxiety disorder, I imagine she would thrive in a college setting. But now that she has dropped out, maybe she feels that this fame-game stuff is all that is left open to her. And that's too bad. Because her eyes look as sad as Scott Disick's. Scott Disick (who I actually like) struggles with addiction and depression. This is a tough one. I hope it works out ok... Perhaps Kris Jenner is just doing Rinna a favor and this is a fauxmance for the blogs.
  5. Book of Mormon is fab. Written by the creators of South Park and Team Anetica World Police, and I love their wacked-out sense of humor. It is more heart-warming than South Park, though. When I saw it, the audience gave it a standing ovation. My Mormon friend saw it too, and really enjoyed it also, even though she felt guilty laughing, she said. Said they got a lot of details right about Mormon culture. Good songs, too.

  7. Largely in agreement with @Chris B and @Gray Bunny's hubby about Jen Shah. She was being touted for weeks before this premiere leaked as the 'star'. Obviously the show is centred around her, and I am ok with that. It draws you into the story. Jen is pointedly fabulous. But being touted as the queen of the franchise before SLC even gets off the ground? I worry that might backfire. On her, on the show. Having been to SLC -- to attend my friend's Big Mormon Wedding! Which was incredible and filled with lots of gossip -- this show really captures the vibe of the place. The landscape is not lushly beautiful and bright, but it is mighty and majestic with the Rockies framing the city. The lifestyle seems legit outdoorsy great, like the one showcased in RHOVancouver. Heather looks like the true-blue Mormon women that I met out there -- blonde, English/German origin, with lonnnng hair. (They love their long locks and many fear cutting their hair and somehow losing their femininity). I also like how she is openly rebellious and says what she thinks. Same with Whitney. Ironic that the two Mormon women with such close ties to the church's inner sanctum would be the ones to break free. So, who is having husband drama in the trailer? Lisa or Meredith? Lisa seems like a frosty b!tch. Meredith and her son Brooks. They are close. When he stood in for his dad and put those rose petals on the floor on his behalf, I was like 'oh, shady Bravo.' Mary is obviously batshit. I think I kind of love her. Well, I'm surprised Monique was even following Wendy. Monique met Wendy for, like, 10 minutes before Mo was excommunicated from the group. As for Candiace unfollowing Karen, she's been bitching about her on social media and Wendy Williams for months. I'm surprised Karen didn't unfollow that 'rusty-ass b!tch' first. I would love it if Gizelle got royally exposed! However, so far, it seems quiet on that front. I fear Giz may have dodged repercussions yet again.
  8. Me to Wendy: Some people delude themselves into thinking they are experts at changing the narrative. Wendy is one of those people. Sweetie, Karen isn't questioning the provenance of your FOUR DEGREES. She was pointing out how you keep bashing everybody over the head with them. Because you are deeply insecure. Wendy claiming she put a 'button' on the subject -- I LOLed at the way Delusional patted herself on the back. The next day she is all "FOUR DEGREES! FOUR DEGREES!" and Karen calmly intones: "I thought we put a button on that." And Wendy starts stuttering. "I... I... want to unbutton... unbutton it... for a second!" This is why Karen is my GOAT. She owned Wendy then and there. Candiace mandated that everybody must pick her side over Monique's, and clearly not everybody is going to do that. So she is leaning into her victimhood as an excuse for all kinds of bad behaviour. Tantrums. Buying new luggage, lol. Trying to get a mother of 3 imprisoned. She is very bitter and spiteful, and she needs to cool it. Especially online. Here is where Bravo went wrong with Miami, in my humble opinion. 1. The cast (plus assorted, random hangers-on) was too big in number. For coherency, it needed to be whittled down to more manageable levels. 2. Bravo didn't work hard enough to keep Karent on the show. A sizeable portion of the audience was on her side, but Bravo did not think she was worth fighting for. I have a theory about that, which is.... 3. ...Bravo was not interested in showcasing the Latinas, even though Miami is 70% Hispanic, and 50% Cuban-American. The network focused instead on Joanna Krupa and Lea Black. Hmmm, wonder why? Centering the show around Joanna Krupa was a massive mistake. Who cared about that vapid, mean-spirited bore? Not me. Escort Girl didn't even live in Miami. As for Lea Black, she was fine as the lightening rod character. But she was no LVP and wasn't strong enough to bind the show together. 4. Losing Mama Elsa was another massive blow. Mama Elsa was the most compelling character, and heart & soul of the show. 5. The scripted fakery of the two duelling weddings was totally obvious, and it turned off what few viewers were left. Also, Adriana and Joanna? Not much to like about either HW (though I was Team Adriana). Alexia was the natural heroine of the show.
  9. Oh man, you said it! I also spent a sizeable portion of my weekend laughing my ass off at this mess:
  10. Wish we could get Katie back.
  11. Lol Feelin Joe Biden! Another reason Lu stays my fave. Interesting that she donated to Hilary's campaign; Carole couldn't stop dissing Luann’s lack of political insight during the 2016 election and acted like she and Dorinda were the only ones to support HRC's bid.
  12. @Vee, I feel like you have not slept since Monday night! You and everybody else who posts on here are doing amazing work keeping us informed at time when traditional sites and social media might be pushing baseless rumor. I live abroad now but am a US citizen and longtime voter in Massachusetts, and I really appreciate the info, discussion and opinions everybody has contributed to the Politics Thread, especially the last 5 years. It's been an oasis of clarity for me, and though I don't post on here often, I do read it a lot. Just wanted to express my thanks.
  13. IMO the Kandi-Phaedra feud was ended too soon, and I never really got closure from it. Obviously Phaedra was 'leaking' allegations against Kandi that were aimed at destroying her reputation. This was in revenge for Kandi-Todd choosing Apollo over Kandi's friendship with Phaedra. Kandi and Todd really were obvious in the way they tried to discredit Phaedra. Kandi 'accidentally' met up with Apollo's side-piece in S9 on-camera. I always felt like Kandi is so shady in setting up meetings with all these mistresses and then pretending it was a total accident and she never laid eyes on them before. She also has Don Juan and Carmon do a lot of her dirty work. To be clear: I think Phaedra is a con artiste and up to her neck in whatever fraud it was that got Apollo sent to prison. Nevertheless, I also understand the human emotion that was behind her seeking revenge on Kandi, who had once been her true-blue BFF. The other piece of the puzzle was that Phaedra allegedly got the lie about Kandi wanting to drug and rape Porsha from RHOA EP Carlos King, and that is why Carlos King's employment got terminated after that season. Both Kandi and Nene insisted he must go. S9 reunion was a four-parter and so crazy and messy that a lot of these details got swept under the carpet. The end felt totally rushed, and Bravo quickly chose to save Porsha and jettison Phaedra (Porsha supposedly had a Bravo executive benefactor/sugar daddy saving her ass on the show). In conclusion: there is unfinished business between Phaedra, Kenya, Kandi and Porsha and it would be nice to see it addressed on the show, rather than bringing in a bunch of newbies who have no real connection with the existing cast. RHOC: Haven't watched the latest episode yet, not sure Braunwyn should be thrown to the side completely as she is giving us legit messiness at the moment. However, Tamra is so badly needed on this show, it is not even funny. She was a more effective producer than production itself. She was the glue that connected most of these women together. And she didn't care what viewers thought of her, trolled her antis and embraced her villainy.
  14. Looks to me like Kenya may want to purposely piss Kandi off she’s reaching out to Phaedra, her arch-enemy for many years! What is going on?
  15. I wouldn't mind Phaedra back AT ALL.
  16. I'm stunned. I thought she would stick with that marriage-in-name-only to the end. Isn't he also funding 'Erika Jayne'? I actually enjoyed Tom Girardi's rare appearances on the show. I am dying to know what prompted her to do this -- and carefully bury the news on election day -- but I believe that she won't say a word against Tom or the divorce next season. It will all be very amicable and Nothing To See Here.
  17. I am D O N E with Candiace. At this point, I dislike her even more than Wendy! The After Show did it for me. What a nasty, snot-nosed brat. And so, so jealous of the other women. Her cringeworthy "Woot" and "Chile" to whateverthefuck Wendy was babbling about. Karen is snake-like how? Karen told you from the start that she supported both you and Monique, but you couldn't handle it like a big girl! I am BEYOND TIRED of the fake victim act. Yes, Candy Ass is a FAKE. She made up with Monique last reunion and then stabbed her in the back. She admitted in an After Show earlier this season that she was part of the coven propagating that rumor about the baby. And now she is stepping into her worst Norma Desmond impression and acting all 'woe is me.' As you point out, she has nothing else going on but these 'poor-me' acting choices! Also she needs to take that pointy, dry old kleenex and wipe off the 20 pounds of highlighter she smears on her face. It is a grease-fest. As for Wendy... Zero humor. Zero self-awareness. Only thirsty and desperate. Congrats on becoming the puppet of Gizelle & Gizelle's Henchwoman. The pinnacle of your numerous achievements, I am sure. Four degrees and yet you remain a mere fan who thinks she Knows It All. Well, there is no greater fool than the fool who thinks she is wise! Also, in the After Show, Wendy gave us a long stump speech about uplifting Black women before ending it with "Shut the f*** up, Karen." The irony was not lost on me! I love Potomac, but I worry it may be heading into RHONY S4 toxic territory. Worse, I worry that the combined forces of Gizelle, Gizelle's Henchwoman, Candy Ass and Dr Phil will win the day. I am now officially nervous for reunion.
  18. Regardless of whether your opinion on Wendy changed or stayed the same, I'm glad to read your posts! I was getting lowkey worried you wouldn't want to post here because of the growing anti-Wendy sentiment.
  19. Looks like Wendy wasn't that thrilled with Karen's slouching impression. She tried to claw back some 'Read' points in the After Show, and Candiace did a few tired attempts at "Preach," but the comments section dragging them both says it all. They both look petty and catty as hell here.
  20. Maybe I'm giving Tanya too much credit because the other FOHs and Eva weren't all that great. I'll keep my eyes open with this new season.
  21. I will have to go back and re-watch but my snap judgment on last season's reunion was that Kenya was just AWFUL. She tried to shout her rehearsed reads over Tanya and Tanya was calmly but firmly not having it. It's funny you thought Cookie Lady was the beginning of the end for Tanya. I thought it tarnished Kenya and Cynthia to keep bringing the thirsty-ass mistress around. Kandi also pulled this ish with Dennis's alleged mistress while pretending she had never met her before. I personally hate this trend of bringing on somebody's alleged side-chick to the show in order to 'embarrass' another HW. Kandi did it in S9 with Apollo's prison pen-pal. Back in S5, when Kenya tried to play up that Apollo was coming onto her, it backfired so badly on her. All the other women were like 'How can we trust you or your motives with regards to the other husbands?' Kenya was eventually vindicated, Scarlet Letter-styles. But bringing on the mistress cheapens RHOA, IMO. Like I said, it didn't make Tanya look bad, but it did make Kenya look like a unlikeable b!tch. But im ready to see how Tanya comes across this year. Maybe I will eat my words. Wouldn't be the first time!
  22. ITA. Ever since Carlos King and his team left the show and we got the Tardy production crew, my emotional investment in RHOA has fallen dramatically. I've tried hard to reconnect with the show, but Carlos for all his faults, was in these women's ordinary daily lives and picking up on all the cracks they didn’t want us to see Since S10, I've felt that ATL is too much about the lewks and glam and it is verging on BH territory. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy fashion as eye candy, but not as replacement for actual substantial stuff going on. Thank heavens the ATL women are funnier and sharper than the BH women, and that is what keeps the show going. It is also why I enjoy the reunions. On the show itself, I am finding the reads increasingly rehearsed. Again, I put the blame for the over-glam and scripted reads at the door of this particular production team. Even in this latest trailer, all the supposed 'unexpected' stuff like Mike putting his hand on the car cam, or Porsha creeping around a house on cc-tv seems a bit contrived to me. Perhaps the fact that I am watching S6 ATL at the moment is spoiling my mood for current ATL. S6 is crammed full of so much stuff happening, and it is all real. Glam was incidental to the marriage and relationship drama. Kenya was villainess but an enjoyable villainess, with human streaks, and there were checks and balances between all these women so that a lot of their worst impulses were checked. Now I see that Kenya has managed to run Tanya Sam off the show -- for a FOH, Kenya sure was threatened by her presence! -- which is a shame. I liked Tanya. She and Marlo could be peach-holders, but Bravo keep trying to cast semi-famous names who end up being duds. Or they make a bunch of FOHs fight it out, and after filming is done they re-edit the season around their eventual picks and it feels like gaps are missing when we watch. As for Kandi, I get where you are coming from, but its the principle of the thing IMO. Even if Riley's dad pays a symbolic, modest amount each month, its about participating financially and sharing responsibility. Personally, I hate it more when I see Pipsqueak Todd -- who lives high on Kandi's money himself -- complaining about Kandi buying Riley stuff. It is none of his business tbh. He gets an allowance too!
  23. It's definitely a reality and very relatable! Universities are prohibitively expensive. I imagine Wendy has loans for undergrad, her masters AND her PhD. Hubby probably has undergrad and grad school loans. All that bundled together must be a massive amount. That article was a doozy. The stuff about the Nigerian caste system was something else. I don't know if that 'source' was Wendy's mother-in-law but they really are not fans of her or her mother!
  24. If Kathy is going to keep accidentally posting her business on public forums, I am going to love her. 🥰
