He's had a few albums and was on Moesha for a couple of seasons. Brandy and Monica's new song is out, it's called "It All Belongs To Me".

I do agree about Brown. According a quote from Johnny Gill, Brown was really upset and the other members of New Edition were rallying around him because he took it hard. His emotional state and logistics were factors I would imagine.

Very true. There are some singers now that can really sing and get some attention, but the record sales are just not there. Most real singers have to accept that they will only achieve minimum success at most.

The media always does that when someone passes, as if it's such a big surprise that family members are devastated by their loved ones passing.

I was in disbelief when I saw this come across the television screen, so tragic. I'm sure there will be some sort of tribute Grammys tomorrow, a lot of singers will be ready to participate.

The House flipping is possible, but the odds are rather difficult since Republicans did quite a number with redistricting. They've reduced Democrats to as little as three seats in some large state.

JFK's or any other politicians personal affairs are of no concern of mine and honestly, I don't feel like it's really anything to really worry about. For me, I'm much more concerned about the policy of a President. Reagan gets elevated and he contributed to political discourse being lowered, wanted to do nothing about apartheid and may have sabotaged hostage talks to benefit his own election. That comes far more unsettling than any personal affairs.

Proposed cuts will always come from the social safety net. None of these candidates has to directly say they will do away with the social safety net in exact words, it's just built into their platform. Privitizing Social Security and Medicare is always on the table for conservatives.

The Republican Party is beyond dysfunctional now and is sliding further into that dysfunction at a faster pace all the time.

No overdrive, just stating facts. I'm not sure why something that happened over four years ago is really relevant at this point. If you really think the President actually thought there were 57 states, then good for you, but a Google search will show how many primaries and caucuses there are. As for Quayle, he had a reputation of being dim even when he was in the Senate, so the misspelling thing was not what earned it for him.
-
The Politics Thread
For the record, there are 57 primaries and caucuses, which is what Obama was refering to. He clearly did not actually believe that there were 57 states.

Fact is, he knows how to get the job done and of course post-9/11, those foreign policy issues were more important than before. The notion that him being a "community organizer" was some how a problem fell flat once Bin Laden and even Gaddafi were taken out.

And yet, Bin Laden was gone within two years on the watch of that "community organizer", something a two term former Governor couldn't do in two whole terms. I'd also like to point out that Obama had more education than McCain and actually held a job outside of the government. McCain has been government employed exclusively.

Oh, yes, the conservative apparatus has definitely been playing the race card at every possible turn. Cain himself started it by talking about Obama by taking jabs at Obama being biracial.
