The cliffhanger worked for me because Jacob could have blown his cover. I compared him to Calvin on EON but looking at Grayson was more of a Chris move.

Jacob is so naive that it's going to get him hurt. Deanna is going to come in blazing and that is what I was waiting for. Vanessa needs to come up against somebody who reads her and Deanna seems up to the task. The actress was giving a little of Victoria Rowell when Dru read her mother down to the ground.

Carlton trying to ingratiate himself to Vernon was so transparent. Him asking for permission to date Nicole was so odd and archaic, but that is probably supposed to be one of the red flags that something is wrong with him. Hayley gave Bill the idea about a baby back when she was faking pregnancies and now she is in another jam. Perhaps she'll stage a nasty fall that will leave her unable to have children.

Eva putting Leslie on notice was a great ending. Carlton's extremely nasty demeanor was really on display. He's definitely is going to end up being a villain.

Most women would thought that cash for an anniversary gift was thoughtless, but not Hayley/Roberta/Val. Shanice's aunt was right to ask Ted questions because the situation could easily get problematic. Joey's jacket fit horribly and needed to be a few sizes up.

Being syndicated on a lot of CBS stations is a factor, but The Drew Barrymore Show is still not the place I would have expected to give BTG such publicity. Hopefully more talk shows will follow suit.

Kat was so over the top nasty to Chelsea and it's not even possible to root for this character anymore. Speaking of nasty, Kat comes by it easily because Nicole was pretty rude to Ted when he asked about Anita. Even if Ted is divorced from Nicole, Anita is still his children's grandmother and he's not wrong for not wanting to be kept in the loop. But I think Nicole's anger is more about the fact that Ted is moving on and not begging her for another chance. Iona Morris is a good casting choice. One of those actors that is not a huge name but is recognizable from decades of guest spots on shows.

Anita shut down Anastacia's fake sympathy perfectly. I love how she was ready to walk away when Vernon threatened to have her membership reviewed. And Vanessa wasn't playing with her either. Ashley should have walked away when Naomi told her to mind her own business. She put Ashley in her business when she decided to tell her the truth and that was a lot to put on just one person. Kat just can't help herself from stirring up a scene with Eva and Leslie.

Not that Bell likely know this, but letter writing is making a comeback as of late.

Derek pushes Leslie's buttons in a way that no one else does and he is at his best when he's up against her. Jacob is a bit naive and sheltered for such an assignment. He's not hot headed like Calvin Stoner on EON, but he has the same hero complex that can really lead to trouble.

Hayley's fake fear and fragility is classic undercover villain. The fact that she was willing to send an innocent man to prison for a staged attack makes her even worse now. But her comeuppance is Lynette's constant shake down. Vanessa being upset that Deanna had utilized the escort service was priceless. And Diego being the escort made it even more messy.

Jennifer's positive vibes keep her on the air. In a time with little to smile about that counts for a lot. Plus she books a lot of good guests. Of course I'm a little biased because I've been a couple of tapings and thorougly enjoyed myself.

Madison isn't going to like what Bill did and it's going to cause more friction between her and Chelsea. Anita's look during the interview was defintely inspired by Patti LaBelle's present style. Patti will wear vibrant pantsuits and wears a similar hair do at times. Lynette has done enough scheming to shake Hayley down for a lot. Not that Hayley doesn't deserve it.

Anastasia is so nasty and she looks as bad as Leslie does with her interrupting people's lunches. Vanessa's scruples are so low that it's understandable that Nicole would think she was recommended an escort for Samantha's date. Mona is trying to be a Tyler Perry play heroine by flipping Randy's life around with church. She definitely is approaching him very wrong.

With that hairstyle, Tomas looks like Leslie has nothing better to do than push people's buttons and in the most tasteless ways. Jacob was too anxious to move out and it was about way more than the case.

From that perspective I see your point. A monthly thread does become clogged when it reaches 10 or more pages. A new user would definitely see that as a hard place to join in on the discussion.

Beyond The Gates and General Hospital are the only monthly threads that generate high discussion so I can't see individual boards working when the other soaps have very anemic discussions. Less than 15 years ago we had daily threads then that devolved to weekly and finally monthly.

This is probably just a lazy way to remind viewers that Y&R once had a lot of Black characters on the front burner now that Beyond The Gates is on the air. Y&R is number one, but never underestimtate how some shows like to maintain certain demographics and a sense of achievement.
