I should not be surprised, as I know his health was in decline; nevertheless, I am. This one hurts. Mr. Damon made Alan a true force. May he RIP!

I won't breathe easier 'til that's confirmed. Everyone made the mistake of underestimating/dismissing this piece of schitt back in 2016. I'm not doing that again, not with all of the crazies that still back him.

I think Gordon Thomson was a much better Mason recast (since we had to have one as Lane Davies was done with SB) than Terry Lester was. Terry Lester didn't get the tortured aspect of Mason, IMO, and made him too...slapsticky. Also, if Angela Raymond was to stay, Nina Arvesen was perfect in the role. As was Karen Moncrieff as Cassandra, even if I hated the character as she suffered next to no consequences for helping to split Mason/Julia in the first place - and they never found out. I do agree that the DeAngelis and Walker families could have been axed. Paula Irvine was way too young as Lily considering her checkered past. The first actress playing her bore a strong resemblance to Robin Mattson. I would have brought her [think her name was Lynn Clark?] back or at least recast with a more age-appropriate actress. Also would have liked to see Brick Wallace, a.k.a. the real Channing Capwell, return as he is an important character yet he just did a fade. Don't know who I'd pair him with, though. But the character deserved more than he got. I'd also leave Joe dead. As I said above, my first instinct would be to keep Roscoe Born opposite CG, but if that wasn't in the cards, I'd either bring back Ric for Kelly [as I thought Carrington Garland/Peter Love had a nice vibe] or, barring that, still bring on Charles Grant as Connor McCabe. I bet Connor/CG's Kelly would have been awesome. CG seemed to generate chemistry with every male lead she interacted with. [Just realized it would be a double CG pairing as they both had the same initials! Although I do know Charles Grant previously went as Charles Flohe. No idea why he changed his last name!]

I say this as someone that liked Julia Campbell in the role, but if we needed Eileen Davidson on the show as a Capwell, she maybe could have been a recast Courtney Capwell [she who killed her bitchy sister, Madeline for...reasons I totally forgot! A.K.A. Grant Capwell's daughter.] She could have been released from prison [assuming she was there? I forget the details...] and decided to stay with Uncle C.C., etc. And CG could have remained as Kelly. Maybe Courtney could have pursued Warren [BJ would be gone in my world.].

Yes...and no. Another family could have helped shoulder the hole left, but - even if it was another Capwell - I think the show could have weathered it with less pain had the Dobsons kept Carrington Garland and convinced Roscoe Born to stay on. While CG's Kelly/Quinn wasn't my thing [more of a Mason/Julia gal, and they also helped fill the void being put more in front, IMO! I remember a TV Guide article saying as much, too!], but Kelly/Quinn clearly was popular, and I think it could have ended up as a focal-point pairing to move past C/E. Especially since it was already shown that the audience had formed an attachment when Eden and Kelly were at odds over Robert/Quinn's affections. The mere fact that the audience was more than willing to watch Robert/Quinn with a woman who was not Eden should have given TPTB a clue that they had someone great in CG.

Finally, some Democrats with spines and balls/ovaries! Alas, this will just DELAY the bill, not stop it. But I do admire that these people actually DID SOMETHING. Charles Schumer and Nancy Pelosi should take notes.

I despise Gwen and not in the "love to hate" way. So this Xander/Gwen crap blows. Where the hell is Sarah?!

Still say one of the Dobsons' stupidest casting mistakes was firing Carrington Garland for Eileen Davidson. They claimed that, for all Kelly had lived, she should appear older, etc. But when they hired Robin Wright, she was already too young, so why did it suddenly matter? When the Dobsons were good, they were very good. But when they messed up, they did it with gusto.

That is exactly why Mason/Julia came to be, too. Originally, Julia and her Baby Contract with Mason were to be the spoilers for Mason/Tori. But the audience responded to Mason/Julia, so the script was flipped and Tori became THEIR spoiler.

All Mason/Julia ever had were spoilers - and Mason's drinking. Still, I did like TK's Lisa. And agree she probably could have survived as her own character with her own romance, etc. Funny how her Lisa spoke here of not inheriting her sisters' blonde hair and blue eyes considering Temp Lisa/Lisa #2, Téa Leoni, had exactly that. (Okay, I remember. TL was just a temp. Tawny Kitaen did come back and played out the blackmail by Robert Barr before leaving for good.)

I think Carrington Garland was a better Kelly Capwell than Robin Wright. Yep! I said it! The Dobsons firing Garland for Eileen Davidson was a huge mistake.

Huh? KMc's tweet a page back said otherwise. I think the post you quoted was referring to Kristina Wagner and why she was gone for so long.

If anything, I could see the show canceled from broadcast NBC and moved to Peacock.

About Don, his non-exit off to mail that damned letter on Days was probably the best thing that could have happened to Jed Allan. After all of the trouble TPTB had at establishing C.C. Capwell on Santa Barbara, he was a revelation in the role and gave the character the kick in the ass he so sorely needed. And his interactions with Lane Davies as black-sheep son, Mason, were golden. Don would have always been B/C-level at best. C.C. was better in terms of "meat" for Jed Allan in the long run.

Makes me wonder why Marlena and Roman would name their kids after a sister that kidnapped the babies' mother and took her place and a great uncle [to said twins] that molested his niece [Kimberly Brady]! (Although, in the case of Eric Brady, Sr., maybe that wasn't known when the twins were born. But the Samantha stuff would have been remembered!)

I must disagree. He even talks of his own voting history in the Op-Ed, voting against different things, etc. that other Dems vote FOR. If it did not give control back to Toxic Turtle, I'd tell Manchin to just stop pretending to be a Democrat. His obstruction is 100% GOP. And he is even in a red state.
