RIP: In Memoriam Thread
Rest in peace, Ruth Buzzi! Laugh In was before my time, but from the clips I have come across on YouTube, she was a very funny lady. Prayers to her loved ones.

DAYS: May 2025 Discussion Thread
I was very into both Bo/Carly and John/Isabella, so that's probably why. Add in early Jack/Jen, and that was another plus for me. (The subsequent special with Bo/Billie in...were they in "Night Sins"?...didn't work for me since I never liked Billie, no matter who played her.) And the Sami/Carrie rivalry exhausted me even then. So...yeah. Tomato, tomahto! All good.

So, sort of like what our Congress used to do with Democrats, Republicans, and Independents before the scourge of Newt Gingrich started the toxicity that led us to Dump. Got it!

You just had to utter that name, didn't you?! I'd like to thank the new writers for giving Sarah a plausible motive regarding not telling Xander about Phillip's fraud. Lord knows, Ron sure as hell didn't. And I recall reading somewhere that even Linsey Godfrey, herself, was at a loss. How the hell are actors supposed to sell something if even they have no idea what's going on?!

As an American, my knowledge of Canadian government is practically nil. But I'm guessing, even with a minority government, that Carney as PM is still a victory over the Trump of Canada, Pollievre. So, majority or minority, I'm glad Canada doesn't take democracy for granted as so many here in the US did/still do.

And despite the time line now being effed up beyond measure, the history does still exist that Sami tried selling her baby sister on the black market (so, now, Sami must have been one industrious year-old kid. LOL! From different generations to contemporaries!), so Belle probably feels no sisterly loyalty, anyway. Still, the guy they both lust over is a RAPIST. Just eeewwwww. At least Jack Deveraux had the self hatred for eons and had to WORK for his current "pillar" status. EJ is still gross, yet the ladies flock to him!

MAX- The Pitt
I will say I'm glad that Season 2 is confirmed to be returning in January 2026 (and the time line for that season also already planned - the 4th of July). I hate streaming shows that go years between new seasons. By the time some return, the details of the previous season are long forgotten.

DAYS: Multi-soap vet to appear starting April 30
Ah, Paige Rowland. I actually remember her more from an old episode of Silk Stalkings, where she went after a group of old friends she used to hang with that ended up "disfiguring" (honestly, the chick had a few scars) her years before in a car wreck when one of them drove too fast, so she killed them. LOL!

DAYS: One Stormy Night: 2025 Promo for April 28 - May 2
I saw "One Stormy Night" and thought it had something to do with the prime time special from 1992. (I do remember that's when pregnant Isabella accidentally drove into the Salem River and when Tracy Middendorf's bratty version of Carrie debuted, saying "Hi, Daddy!" to John.) And Bo/Carly, etc. Why no one told Carrie before then about John/Roman forever mystifies me...

MAX- The Pitt
I don't think there is a weak link in this cast. The one that surprised me at how good he was, even in his sort of manipulative scene when his addiction was discovered, is Patrick Ball as Dr. Langdon. I say this because, apparently, this is his first big TV role. He is apparently much more known as a theater actor, yet he knocked his scenes out of the park. But, again, I can't think of one weak link. I liked Katherine LaNasa's charge nurse, Dana Evans, too. She is like the harried den mother of the bunch. Like ER before it (maybe a bad example considering the lawsuit, LOL!), I also like the background nurses, techs, and such. They all add flavor to the mix. Still, like so many online have said, I would love to see more of Dr. Jack Abbot (Shawn Hatosy) next season! He played the war veteran maverick doctor to the hilt and he is a great counterpart for Noah Wyle's Dr. "Robby". I have seen some wanting a night shift spinoff already with Hatosy's Jack Abbot as the focal point.

MAX- The Pitt
I get many are hyping this up - maybe even me - but to be fair, there are countless articles and videos from real doctors that do seem to make a distinction between The Pitt and ER. Mainly that the former does more realistically depict the struggles of the day to day and the mental and physical toll the job takes on them, not to mention interactions with patients from all walks of life and different injuries and such. Meanwhile, I have seen some mention ER as more of a glorified soap opera, at least in the later seasons. Me, I love both, so I won't quibble. As for the lawsuit, I go back and forth. Yes, TPTB and Wyle wanted to do a reboot. But it seems Crichton's widow had issues or demands that were not agreed to. So they went and made a new show. I think it depends on how much of those ideas were put forth in the new series. Because on its face, medical dramas have been around since the dawn of TV. And plenty of actors and behind the scenes folks often work on more than one series together. Since a judge seemed to think the case was not "meritless", I guess we will find out what that evidence is. If indeed the material was influenced by the meetings with Mrs. Crichton, she should be paid. But if it is just the concept, well... I guess we'll see either way. I do think this will eventually be settled out of court, myself. Time will tell.

If this is the end for Scott Clifton on this show - and I don't buy it, but for the sake of argument - I'd love to see him return as Dillon on General Hospital, especially since his mom, Tracy, is still around, and his half-brother, Ned.

DAYS: Cwikly/Ford (the new writing team) interviews with spoilers
Yes, we did. LOL! And yeah, it's kind of funny to think that Julie and Lucas are first cousins, as an example. But it does happen in real life! My late father was the youngest of six, and the age gap between him and his oldest brother was just shy of 17 years, so I have first cousins much older than I am!

While not biological, Sarah is also a grandchild of Tom and Alice, making Victoria their great-granddaughter. Same for Ciara (except she is biological, but the rest applies!) and her kiddies with the serial killer (I don't blame you for leaving her off. LOL!) But yeah, there are a lot. And the show should bring Steve Olsen (Stephen Schnetzer) back again with his kids in tow, if the writers are serious about building up the Hortons again.

Santa Barbara Discussion Thread
Mulcahey was responsible for writing the very odd, but also very memorable episode of SB called "The Capwell Zone", where drippy newfound Capwell son, Greg Richards Capwell (son of CC and Megan Richards, who was played by the late Meg Bennett, who was - of course - Robert Guza's wife; I believe he was head writer of SB at this point?), had...I think hit his head after surfing and dreamed that his new brother, Mason, and his wife, Julia (of course), were aliens. They spoke in iambic pentameter the entire episode while Greg got a sometimes funny, sometimes sobering glimpse of Capwell family dynamics. If I recall, that episode gave the show and Patrick Mulcahey another Emmy. Which makes me mad all over again at just how quickly GH gave him the boot fairly recently, especially after writing so wonderfully for that show later in the '90s. But I guess good writing and stories that make sense aren't something that GH - or most soaps - are interested in, anymore, more's the pity.

As one that has less than zero use for Gwen, may I just say that I had to laugh when I read how the new writers made sure to note that Gwen's return was not them. Disavowing all knowledge. LOL!

I don't usually like to cross post, as it borders on spam, but just in case some don't visit the Days thread, the Hollywood Graveyard channel on YouTube uploaded a new installment today. And the second grave visited in the video, right after Bob Barker, is Joe Mascolo, who played Massimo on B&B. I tried to mark the segment to around where his segment begins, at 2:44. But if it doesn't, just go to that point (or, hey, feel free to watch it all if you want to!):

The Hollywood Graveyard channel on YouTube uploaded a new video today. And the very second person's grave (right after Bob Barker, should you wish to start at the beginning and watch the whole thing!) is none other than that of Joe Mascolo (Stefano). I tried to mark it to start at his segment, but just in case, it is around the 2:44 mark, if you want to see it! In addition, John Aniston's (Victor) grave is @ 15:06!

Co-sign all of this. The show was actually a good cop show - and it needed Stepfanie Kramer. I think it's telling that the all too-brief 2003 revival ignored much of S6 and the McCall-less S7 and brought her back with Hunter. I likened Silk Stalkings more in line with Hunter, but with bikinis. Male/female partnership with deep bonds solving crimes. Which seemed to lean even more into the titillation factor once it moved to USA after CBS canceled it. However, Stephen J. Cannell did not create Hunter and Wiseguy. That was Frank Lupo. But Cannell's production company was involved. Cannell did create Silk Stalkings, which was his longest-running series at eight seasons!

Y&R: April 2025 Discussion Thread
So, there are two Jack Abbot(t)s on TV now, apparently. I was watching The Pitt, and actor Shawn Hatosy is playing Dr. Jack Abbot! (Although some write ups spell it as Abbott.) I just find the coincidence amusing. Trying to think of any other daytime/prime time characters with the same name but am failing. By the way, if you're into realistic medical dramas [per doctors and nurses that have watched], The Pitt may be the new show for you.
