I can't remember the exact details of how Stenbeck survived expect living out on a tropical island. Or was that when James came back under Sheffer with a presidential pardon? Unfortunately the one character I enjoyed who they did bring back, Damian was probably left off better dead although I believe Klein was writing at the point.

Did we ever find out what happened to Jack after he fell off his boat? I was just rewatching the Stacy being gaslighted story and it was rather bizarre to say the least.

I feel bad he replaced Randy Brooks, who ended up leaving Y&R for a promising but ultimately very thankless and forgettable role on AW. It's interesting how far Eddie Cibrian has come from this, while I believe Julianne Morris biggest claim to fame remains that of being Swamp Girl on Days. Can never get enough of Mari Jo though.

This did indeed air on 12/25/95 and was repeated on 12/25/07. It was famous for a rare moment where Y&R broke the fourth wall at the end. All the CBS soaps aired new episodes that day, each having their own memorable moments(B&B with Stephanie personally inviting Sally and CJ to Christmas dinner, Josh and Reva going down memory lane etc.)

I think what I found most interesting was the seeds those episodes set for the future, like the scenes where Sharon tells Paul all about her past with Frank(did he appear in 1995 or just named?) and her baby, a good year and a half before Tony and Grace found Cassie. I think the bloated cast did cause problems. For example when Epperson took over the role of Ashley there in '88/89 Ashley was the #2 heroine behind Nikki. By the time Epperson left at the end of '95, I'd have to say Ashley had fallen behind Nikki, Victoria, Nina, Dru, Olivia and even Christine.

I know he was having his second affair with Nikki around the same time-frame but what was Jack's exact motivation for getting Ruthless published? That late 1993 ep was fabulous it largely a quiet, slow average ep yet ended explosively! Going back to the Blade/Rick story unfortunately the week of December 1995 episodes dealing with the aftermath have been removed but the best thing they did to save the story's denouement was getting Jill involved.

They brought on Jake's half-brother Kevin who shared the same father but Kevin turned out to worse than Jake. They later brought on his son but the show was cancelled not long after they introduced him so they ended up doing nothing him although the actor was none other than Paul Wesley.

Ageism perhaps? In any case, I recall someone alleged that scenes and dialogue between Ada and Rachel surrounding the immediate aftermath of his death had been lifted from Gil's death a few years before. The viewer and his mother memorably summarized it as "just another dead husband for Ada".

Christopher Knight aka Peter Brady was on as one of the forgotten Hobson kids too at this time. I remember an infamous one time Days script writer with the last name of Boof put up her AW fanfiction one which concerned Diana Frame. The Cass/Felicia/Kathleen/Wallingford stuff definitely gave AW cult status and a goofy niche that even Blanche Devereaux had to wach the continuing story.

It's actually always been very puzzling to me about the unnecessary deaths of Julia and later Sally. As for Julia, they had two later famous actresses play the part yet still screwed it up. A more memorable instance of another casting screw-up is when Phelps let Justin Chambers go as Nick Hudson and replaced him with someone she'd worked with on Santa Barbara and GL together if I recall right. I believe Chambers has the last laugh on that one.

1982 was pretty rough for AW was it not? You had the entire Matthews clan eradicated(Jim died, Pat and Alice left town, Julia died in a bomb explosion!), offbeat tales and unintriguing capers. The show tried to develop a triangle between Mac, Cecile's mother Elena(Maeve McGuire) and Mac's secretary but it fell apart out of nowhere. Rachel/Steve/Alice Part XXII was painful to watch. On the flip side the show did gain Cass and Felicia that year but one early review I remember seeing on the old WOST site was quite critical. They referred to Felicia as "a big diva of nothing". Going back to the subject of Blair Baker, I don't even remember there being two different actresses who played the role. Must have been around the same time they recasted Maggie three, possibly four times before writing her out.

Ah the Ben Reade treatment! I just remember the Blair character as taking over the show for five minutes(stalking Gary&Josie, her fling with Matt, being an agent for Carl) then being gunned down mysteriously after she gunned down Josie. But I couldn't think of her name, so thanks Carl!

I liked some of the early Cass&Frankie stuff and the Christy Carson caper, but their years of more or less marital bliss sucked the life out of both of them. Remember that insidious medical malpractice lawsuit story? Having back to back serial killers in 1996 really didn't work at all for AW. Does anyone remember why Fax did all those killings anyways? I recall he also killed Morgan's girlfriend and Gary's ex-wife but I can't think of her name at all.
