You're probably right, but like the Parlato bait and switch I could so believe Rauch & Co. lying to Coleman in her face about not being an Annie recast after she inquired if she was. Didn't Coleman's Annie leave town with Tom Wiggin's character after her oddball plot to kidnap and become Lizzie's mother went up in smoke? It was such a weird ending all the while the San Cristobel story was ramping up they made it the C-story of the week.

The weird thing is Liz was the one who convinced Phillip to come home after Jill had been shot. I guess they could have had Liz move in with Jill for that story wonder if that would have workable for that story. By 1991 though we weirdly had Jill and Katherine using each other as sounding boards in their arguments though.

Bell always came up with redemption/back don to earth stories for Jill...after Phillip died he wrote her pairing with the blind guy David, I suppose it’s what the pairings with Steve Williams(oh god, can you imagine Jill vs Mary) and Andy were all about.I think Bell loved writing for Jill just as he did for Lorie and later on Ashley as one of Y&R’s leading ladies.

Didn’t Jill fake getting pregnant with Stuart? That definitely did go too far in 1979. Imagine Ada and Rachel fighting over the same man LOL. Liz should have been a permanent fixture on the show throughout the 80s and 90’s as Jill needed that. Not sure if the clips are still up but I also loved the rapport of Adair & Cooper too, especially Adair‘a Jill being terrified.

Loving/The City Discussion Thread
This Carl!!!! 😃 I had enjoyed Peluso on Loving and AW so much. I remember the soap mags had made it seem like Cass and Lila were coming on to ATWT permanently after AW ended, I was so disappointed that it was just for a visit during their honeymoon, and then for Cass to go on recurring for the next several years without a single mention of his wife. While I respect Peluso's career wishes, it 's shame no one else really was able to snag her really after that or convince her otherwise to stick around daytime.

He was definitely sexy on Knots and enjoyed him on Loving, it’s a shame him as Ben Warren on GL just didn’t work out for at all.

Agreed, and that when I first discovered it out of curiosity characters like Ava, Egypt, and Shana fascinated me, so different that the CBS heroines I was use to. Trisha's exit was weird, dead but not dead and then ran off with Jeff Hartman to Rome while amnesiac, plus the appearance of the back of her the following year before Trisha returned in person in Loving's final weeks. The other weird thing that struck me as odd to no end was Jack's disappearance around the time I first tuned in. Jack is presumed drowned - he fell off the boat on the honeymoon for his second marriage to Stacey. A body was found, but Clay identified it and Jeremy later proved it was NOT Jack. Clay identified it because he wanted to marry Stacey and drive her crazy so that he would own controlling interest in Alden Enterprises....so that he could destroy it. Stacey pined for Jack when it first happened and was so vulnerable to Clay's advances. Nothing more was brought up again about really happened to Jack.

This is something I have never understood is how ABC let a show they owned get pre-empted so much in the entire county. Even though I know the show aired against Y&R just could never figure out why so many local affiliates couldn't be bothered to run 30 mins of programming for any off ABC's 30-minute soaps, no wonder the networks started forcing stuff once the wide majority of affiliates had really seen their power diminish in the last 20 years.

Love this! Probably my favorite classic dramatic Y&R musical score will always be be this one tbh, I seem to recall in the 90’s it was always played on Friday’s LOL

Great find, thanks for sharing @FrenchFan!! I’ve read some much of the Nathan & Amy story so it was really nice to watch this. And LOL to Katherine & Esther setting up the slideshow presentation. I assume this was the prelude to the infamous scenes of Jill inducing herself to vomit to get out her and John out of dinner and “winter vacation” slides with Katherine laughing wickedly on. Was he playing David around the time Jill was shot? If so I think have seen Pillsbury before, thanks for sharing! It’s funny Bell established David as a complete sleazeball by 1987, but I wonder if anyone ever anticipated his darker turn he’d take 1989-91. Took bad it was the 80s otherwise David would been Jill’s gay best friend.

Lol I’m going to safely say that Liam & Fallon’s wedding is going to be in Moldavia whenever it occurs. I just can’t with this show.

As The World Turns Discussion Thread
There was some tension but it usually centered around a select few, Colleen being one of them stretching all the way back to back her notorious feud with Jacqueline Schultz which ran off a young Ariane Muenker/Ariana Chase from the show. The only other big behind the scenes scandal I can think of for ATWT during its later years was Eileen Fulton's feud with TPTB and of course a very married Austin Peck and a very married Terri Colombino involved in a very torrid affair that got Peck fired.

I think you're right as I think the movie Body Heat came out the year before, what a difference their careers took. I'm guessing it would have been someone Pam would have known, wonder if Harley Kozak was considered? I remember Josh and Cassie being teased for just about most of 1998. It started with the clone story and then later on with Annie drugging Josh but given the nature of their storyline orbits it would never would have worked at all.

That's interesting! I think I remember now reading she had done ATWT in the past but couldn't even remember when. I do recall the first time I watched the episode here Dorothy Connors confessed to killing Whit McColl I watched the credits and was like "who the heck are these people writing the show?!" as almost none of the credited names in that era rang an immediate bell. Klein was responsible for bringing Damien back and then having him remain as a monk correct while having Emily erase all the evidence of Kirk's involvement in Diego's murder right? Yeah no wonder she didn't last long.
