  1. I agree completely. This makes no sense, especially when we're led to believe he came up with those designs in a few hours. Usually we see them drawing a design or coloring for days and weeks. I also laughed at Katie saying she saw good things and also things that needed work. Yeah, ok, Katie. 😂
  2. -- I hate it that with Sidwell, we see again that Frank can't get rid of villains. Doesn't matter how stupid it makes multiple characters look. We're stuck with this garbage character for a long time to come. -- Why would Dante send Cassius alone to take Sidwell to the police station? Because Frank. -- I always thought Jonathan Bennett was good looking, but never found him sexy until this role. I've seen him play light or silly so many times, but damn, he's hot as a serious guy hehe -- So Lucas can pull both Marco and Joe? Impressive.
  3. Are we sure Victor didn't get a sendoff scene? Did I miss something? Obviously, the two soaps are not in sync and Victor is already back home on Y&R. But that doesn't mean he left BTG without a goodbye -- unless I missed something.
  4. -- How long are RJ and Dylan going to remain at thee Bikini? We're now on the 3rd episode in a row. -- The writing for them is beyond vapid, with RJ asking Dylan "When do you have time to sleep?" and telling her "You're so resilient." Yeah, we all know Dylan is a multi-tasker and a real genius. -- And then Dylan pulls RJ to dance? Embarrassing. -- Too much is made of Hope's employment being a secret. Get this storyline moving. -- Did Deke come up with those 3 runway designs in one afternoon? -- At some point, they have to write in AN's pregnancy (she is, isn't she?) or do a better job than putting her in floor length coats in the middle of June.
  5. Right on all counts.
  6. I've heard this mentioned, and that may be so, but I don't think what we're seeing is a successful solution.
  7. -- Production for this episode was top-notch. This is soap opera from the good old days. Just really impressive. -- I have quibbles with some of the lines characters were given, but I'm majorly impressed with how so many characters were integrated in a way that seemed real and authentic. It's not easy to weave characters that way while giving every actor something to do, but they pulled it off. -- All those extras? My God...it doesn't get any better. I truly believed we were at a campaign event. -- Wardrobe and hair were off-the-chart perfect. This show knows style and how to do an event so that it's an EVENT. -- I've been critical of Clown Leslie, but I thought she was used brilliantly today in every one of her scenes. -- I will ignore that Victor is a criminal because his scenes -- especially the Martin intro -- were so effective. This is the Victor I want on Y&R...someone who's like Eric Braeden in real life hehe -- Bill is so over Hayley, and I love it. "Maybe you can get your own drink." 😂 -- Quibbles? I'm over grieving widow Ashley, who in my eyes is still making Derek's death about her. I needed some dialogue to explain why Jack and Diane are all of a sudden a happily married couple. It's a crossover, right? So don't ignore what's happening on Y&R. Diane could have said they were going to fake it for the cameras and crowd. Kyle flirting like that with Hayley? Fun to see, but that's the Kyle we need on Y&R -- a guy with a bad boy side. It just reminded me that this isn't who Kyle is. I wanted Nicole to light into Vanessa for bringing Mobster Joey to the fundraiser. Who the hell does Vanessa think she is? She is SCUM, and she is NOT a good friend to anyone there. I'd swap out Vanessa and Joey and get June to that affair, along with Tyrell and Samantha. Tomas was written as too tone-deaf in his talk with Jack. I'm on record as being no AA fan, but the character works better when he's shrewd and not an idiot. The whole thing made Bill look worse, too. We're getting the "trapped in the elevator" thing with Dani and Bill? UGH.
  8. I agree. I've been complaining about the White Powerful Savior on this show for so long I can't remember. I'd bring it up more often but I think I work people's nerves. I hate the power and control Joey wields, from the politicians to the police department. And hey, did you know he practically raised Izaiah and gave him character? As you said, now we get his sister -- another white character -- to join him and look to take complete control over the area. "Murky operations" is a great way to put it. The plasma story never made sense and still doesn't, and now both Joey and Heather have "other operations." What??? BTW, I'll also point out they needed the all powerful white man Victor Newman to give Martin momentum in his political race. I understand the crossover, but the optics on this show are a damn mess.
  9. That green screen helicopter was not worth it.
  10. The crazy thing is that Victoria and Nate have a ton more chemistry than Noah and Sienna.
  11. -- The line for The Shadow Room opening was "around the block"? 😄 They needed a lot more extras to pull off that line. -- Noah's new bartenders didn't show? I guess that's more extras not needed. Believing Sierra alone could handle an overflow crowd is hilarious. -- The best part of the show was Lily's takedown of Victoria. Chef's kiss. -- The Shadow Room is a nice set, but the direction of the scenes there was weak. Too many close-ups, and almost nothing showing any depth. So true about Noah's nightclub. I was also shocked to hear that The Glam Club was a success 😂 And you're right -- Noah and Sienna don't work. At all.
  12. I personally don't think that disliking White Savior Joey is an indication the character is working. If it's a choice between King Joey and Duprees Strong, I choose neither.
  13. LMAOOOOO I can't get over how stupid Sidwell suddenly is. It's actually a feat to write a character as this dumb. I also couldn't get over Sidwell telling Lucas to turn around and not be a coward by getting shot in the back by facing his killer -- as if a guy shooting someone in the back isn't the damn coward 😄 No question -- Lucas is wearing a bulletproof vest. It's mid-June and he has a jacket on that's completely zipped up? 🤣 Those jeans and that jacket reeked of "Doctor With No Money Because He's Paying Off Medical Loans."
  14. Shemar's return was a welcome surprise. He did sincerely thank Cane for saving his life, but then we had to get the cliche "If you hurt Lily again, you will answer to me." I hated that. Is there some kind of soap law that this kind of threat has to be made? I found it even worse since CANE SAVED HIS LIFE.
  15. EJ has historically been a sexy/sexual character, at least for me. That seems to have disappeared.
  16. -- Brooke is so dumb she thinks Katie's agreement not to steal any more Forresters for Logan is some big victory. I mean, just how big is that pool of employees? 😂 -- Ridge showed what a POS he is when he told Brooke she ha every right to slap Katie. -- It's a shame that the sun is out and shining brightly everywhere except from the window in $Bill's office. They really need to ditch that fog background. -- Everyone is at work at Logan and Forrester except for the young people who go in late and instead hit up Bikini or take a dip in the ocean. -- Laugh of the episode was hearing Electra tell Will how smart he is. That was followed by Will showing up in sunglasses on his first day of work -- looking like aa frat boy doofus.
  17. -- I understand using Victor Newman for this crossover, but he's SUCH a compromised hero. If we were in a period where Victor's behaving, this wouldn't bother me as much. But the man is a CRIMINAL who just moved his family's wannabe murderer on to his property. The crimes within his own company are endless. THIS is who Martin brings in to seal the primary? -- And I don't know why the voters in Martin's district would care about Victor Newman. -- Had to laugh when Smitty got a text from a journalist friend who already said she's write favorably about Martin. That's real journalistic integrity right there. -- Smitty's latest work on the Red Market is to ask the public for help 😂 -- I wish Jacob had another layer that wasn't anger 24/7. I also wish those scenes with Ren were onscreen. I don't think the offscreen stuff works. -- Why is Jacob going to Joey for a talk about the Impaler??? UGH. Why is Joey the answer to everyone's problem on this show? -- Lauren Buglioli looks a good bit thinner. She wasn't overweight and this weight loss makes her look older. -- Mona has the right to still be annoyed with Leslie, but shouldn't she have been A LOT more ecstatic about a $100k check??? -- Leslie's endless checkbook will never not be hilarious 🤣 -- Wardrobe again was top-notch, elevated and classy. -- I miss June. -- Instead, we got multiple scenes with Shonda. I'm not sure Shonda makes it out of this tornado 😂
  18. Thank you @Errol !!!
  19. I expect only a couple or a few episodes, but at least it was a surprise. I appreciated that as much as anything. -- As much as I like Holden having more connections in town, I don't know how much it helps this show to add Stephanie. -- If Stephanie can be written as hating Claire, I'm all in. -- This Victor stuff -- using Matt to destroy Cane -- is more horrific writing from Griffith. It's just stupid and awful. Victor is on a vengeance tour 24/7, and that is not enjoyable to watch. -- Nick is able to function without drugs? -- Lily and Cane are the only reason to watch this mess.
  20. I'm not leaving because of all the changes, because I really enjoy this board. However, I have to add that I'm concerned about the number of changes. Whether it's true or not, everything looks like it'll be more complicated than before. I realize that's probably because new and different can be challenging, but posting has been easy, and I'm not sure making it more complicated brings new posters or members who post more often. I'll be honest. I stopped reading through the changes/examples because it felt like overload. It felt like TL/DR. Soooooo much time and effort was put into all of it, and I appreciate and respect that so much, but I worry about the impact. Hopefully, I'm just making too much of all this and making a mountain out of that molehill. The login/sign in problem on Chrome is huge. I don't doubt that's hurt the board. To this day, I CANNOT sign in on Chrome -- and I've tried everything. I had to download Firefox on my phone to use the board. Did some people just give up instead of going to another browser? If posting is dramatically down, I personally think that's on the soaps more than on the setup of this board. BTG was gangbusters here in its first year. That has dropped off in huge numbers -- because that's what happens when something isn't new and fresh any longer. Isn't a huge percentage of the drop in posting because of BTG? Sometimes I just want to say "I agree with you" when I see a post I agree with. You might remember that I asked long ago if we could have a LIKE button; you said you'd look into it. I think that engages people and might increase participation. As it is now, if I post something about Y&R and there's no response for days, I have no idea if people agree or care. If I had a dozen likes, it might encourage me to post more often and not worry that my voice was in the wind. Why should I return to the Y&R board every day if no one engages? There's a core of us who post often on one or more soaps. Maybe I'm wrong, but that core number seems to be dropping. I'm sad about that, but don't have any answers. I know I won't be going to Facebook groups, where too many people can't spell and say the dumbest things imaginable. This group has always had literate people around LOL The new WELCOME threads to each soap are not being used at all to this point. I realize that's probably because the monthly discussions still exist, but it also might point to "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." I hate to lose the monthly threads, but I will soldier on if that happens. Thanks for caring about this place. I hope it comes across that I care about the board, too.
  21. -- Did KKL piss off the writers? 😂 Because, my God, they couldn't write her as more insufferable or more clueless. Brooke has never come off as any worse than this. -- I do want Katie to stop giving Brooke space for these kinds of attacks. I know the drama we get is great, but I am tired of Brooke going full-on disgusting and then pulling back -- only for Katie to let the tears flow and think there's a chance they can make it work. -- I'm going to disagree about the lighting and makeup for KKL. I don't think it did her any favors today.
  22. Yep, and the jury is out as to whether she can pull it off.
  23. -- Joey's apartment is dark and ugly. Why are we now having conversations about how stylish and masculine and beautiful it is. GAG ME. -- Vanessa called Dani for affirmation of her sad, trashy life. She didn't get it, so she told Dani to leave. Dani had to bring up Donnell and Deanna because awful mother Vanessa hadn't even allowed them to cross her mind. -- I want Leslie at the fundraiser no matter how they get her there -- even if it means she has to throw more of her (apparent) millions around. -- Ashley Jones is a good actor. Is se right for this role? The jury is out. I do wish she'd kept her mouth shut about her casting and start date. The Impaler reveal was ruined because of her loose lips. We'll never know if this would have been a shocking reveal if she'd only shut up. -- The bottom line is that I felt nothing when Heather said "I am The Impaler." -- The entire Red Market story is a mess, and it's not getting better. Now we hear Heather is not just in the plasma business but has "other operations." She's pulled the plasma stuff out of the DMV but wants in with her "other operations." Are you kidding me with this writing? -- Heather is this powerful London-based woman who wants to bring her "other operations" to the DMV? -- Joey, of course, has his casino and "other operations." Isn't that convenient. It's not going to get any more specific, because these writers haven't thought any of it out. It'll just be that they do crime, and we're supposed to nod in agreement. -- Giving Joey and Heather "other operations" is the same as giving Leslie more and more money every time she needs to fund something, whether it's her shouse, or a free clinic, or a rec center, or a political donation.
  24. I've said this before, but I still don't understand why Joey needs to meet the Impaler. If he's selling plasma and protecting his turf, yeah, I get it. But that's not what's going on. His crimes seem to be separate from any Red Market crime, so why does he need a meeting? Joey claims the cops are on his case. So a meeting with the Impaler helps him? I'm lost here. I also don't get why he needs loaded guns in his backroom for that meeting. That's his backup plan? It all plays like bad cops and robbers. Have to agree. Yes, we all like a sex-positive show with characters who are sexual. But the family sex talk isn't edgy. At some point, it gets awkward. Anita and Vernon still do the deed? Good for them. I just don't need so many scenes about it as if they're giving us some wildly progressive soap.
  25. Exactly! And Jesus, "actress" is definitely the way to call whatever that was. This was not a good week.
