  1. I realize I harp on this, but I think he spending is relevant. She's not just buying new wigs. She's building a mansion, she's funding a sports complex, she's paying for operations for people she doesn't know, she's caring for Peaches, she's buying apartments. We saw ?her get ONE check for ONE million dollars. That's it. I may be wrong, but I thought they said she'd get a payment every 6 months. Regardless, she could not rule the roost on $1M, and the show is not doing a good job there. Pretending that doesn't matter? I can't do that. All they had to do was add a couple lines about payouts and payments. In other news, I would love to know just how much Anita was putting into that trust as well as what investment got her what has to be an incredible return. 😂
  2. -- I love a good build, and the show has made me look forward to Winterfest. But some things seem so forced. -- For example, the Vernon/Sharon meetups. GMAB. It's so obvious what this is and they're playing it too hard for too long. I think one purpose is to make Leslie look like a fool, but it's hard to take. Is the tour over for Sharon? Does she sit in the hotel room all day long waiting for Vernon? Is he paying her bills? It's dumb. -- Leslie is an awful human. I don't think she gives a rat's ass about Peaches. She cares more about Eva's sex life. -- Izaiah and Eva have nice chemistry, but their conversation seemed forced to me. Didn't sound like first date dialogue and was too on the nose. -- Shanice was great in taking down Leslie. I'm so glad the writing didn't have Leslie land the biggest smackdown. Dr. Wilkes was also great. -- Again, Leslie is spending like she's worth a bajillion dollars. This has to be written for laughs. -- I've done a complete turnaround on June. I now think she's a great addition. -- Martin and Smitty are so concerned that Tyrell learn about Banneker that they call in a guy who started work there this week? 😂 -- Tyrell is so much more mature than Samantha. I hate the way she treats him and talks about him in front of others. She really sat there and asked Jessica why she's even with Tyrell. Samantha is pathetic. Screenshot time: -- If I can get Fish & Fries at Orphey Gene's for $5, why is a glass of juice $4 ? -- That Mr & Mr sign at Martin and Smitty's is beyond lame and tacky.
  3. Kate Mansi directed today's episode.
  4. Billy Flynn has great chemistry with Christel Khalil, so is this sex with Phyllis a stall because CK is headed for maternity leave?
  5. I love it that we've gone from daylight to dark -- Electra's even returned to work -- but Steffy is still sitting next to shirtless Finn on the sofa.
  6. When I saw that look on Will's face, I thought, "Yeah, there's no one on set giving direction to Crew Morrow. There's no one giving notes." His dad Josh was green when he started, but not this green.
  7. -- I know the budget is a huge problem. Still, although I love all the returns, I wish the show did a better job with why they're all back one day and gone the next. -- The 60th celebration at the Square was fine, but also odd. When speeches were made, the crowd and speaker were never in the same camera shot. Felt like the speeches were taped separately and inserted. -- The speeches themselves were nothing special. I wanted words that really pulled at the heartstrings, but didn't get it. -- Paulina's speech was particularly bad, with a really weird delivery by Jackee.
  8. -- Jan tells Mona what a good friend Leslie once was with them. I have a hard time picturing it. -- I thought the country club was for the rich and powerful. Leslie had to pay for a sports complex to get in. So why is izaiah walking around like a regular? -- I like the Izaiah actor, but I'm not sure the role was cast properly. Nothing about him says bad boy, nothing says danger. -- Get Tomas off my screen. When Kat first sat with him, he was still annoyed with her treatment of Eva. Are you kidding me? Kat needs to dump this POS yesterday. -- Alex Alegria stays terrible at his job. -- Eva told Izaiah she tried distancing herself from Tomas for Kat's sake. She's a liar like her mother. -- Ending the show with Eva leaving with Izaiah instead of Peaches' phone call to Leslie was head-scratching.
  9. -- The Laura/Dalton scenes would have been much more effective if we got ONE long scene, or two at most. Instead, we got 3 short scenes that diminished the impact of all of it. -- Today was "Let's Have Dante Act Like An Ass_Hole To Gio So We Can Introduce Even More Conflict Between Them Instead Of Having Him Act Like a Real Parent."
  10. Carly is clearing and cleaning tables at Bobbie's? Uh....OK.
  11. Did I miss something? How did Luna get out of her jail cell and into the laundry cart? Or is the typical "Nothing to see here"?
  12. That's where I am. We all know that EB will be on the show forever. That's a given, and I never said "Get rid of Victor/Eric Braeden."
  13. Only 15 minutes in, but already I'm rolling my eyes. -- No way would Anita put Leslie in charge of the Winterfest guest list and invitations. Isn't that what Laura is for? Why entrust the town nutjob and the person intent on wrecking your family with this task? -- Caroline's interest in Bill and Hayley's marriage is also over-the-top. I just can't with this. -- No way would Kat go to Hayley for advice on dealing with Eva. This show needs better motivations for character discussions. -- In other news, the country club hasn't yet replaced the chef.
  14. All the CBS soaps will air on Thanksgiving Day, November 27. GH is also new. They aren't airing repeats against the football game on FOX. On Friday, November 28, football takes over -- no soaps anywhere (except DAYS, of course.)
  15. A lot of people are, but that's the problem. The show is running on fumes from the past. Griffith pulls viewers back in when he goes to Y&R history, but the stories on the show are slow, awful, or both. The Danny and Christine wedding will be nice, and we'll get more actors on set and an event-like feel -- but then what? It's not a story that leads to anything. MD and LLB will be gone a day later. It's all so bad. Why the stall? It's as if Griffith has no idea where to go or what to do. Mariah cutting off her wife and daughter makes no sense at all. We know this show doesn't care about gay characters, but it's a mess when a woman married to a woman starts entertaining a guy. The show doesn't care about the messages they're sending either. Just a stunning disaster. All that publicity in snagging Billy Flynn, leading to....nothing. Why make Cane this wealthy and powerful man who can take down everyone (let alone all of Genoa City) and then have him beg "I want to get my family back"? Not only was there a plan to reclaim his family, but his kids aren't even on the canvas. I mean, NOTHING about it works. And now Josh Griffith has Cane sniffing around Phyllis, which feels like "I gotta do something because Christel K is going out on maternity leave." EB's decline is obvious. I get it. People age and slow down. But JG apparently has no idea how to adapt to that weakness. Victor should not be the same ruthless man he was 40 years ago, and his dialogue needs to represent who he is now. The Noah/Sienna/Matt story also has problems, but it's Oscar material compared to everything else. The problem is that after this intriguing setup, I have ZERO faith that Griffith can follow through.
  16. BTG is eminently watchable, and I'm enjoying the hell out of it. Still, some things get to me. -- I agree we're going to see Leslie exposed at Winterfest, but I don't trust this show to have that mean anything. What good is it if she suffers for one even and then we're back to status quo? -- Time and time again, we're seeing every character give in to Leslie. Now she's going to get a major role at Winterfest (the backup to Dani?) instead of telling her no? -- And why are we still watching Leslie sashay into the Dupree house??? Anyone with sense would just throw her out. I know it makes for good soap scenes, but when this is done on a daily basis, it's absurd. -- Nicole is also on board for rewarding Leslie to keep her in line? Huh? -- The way they're writing the Laura and Leslie connection is weird. Just adds to me SMH that Anita would even talk to this woman. -- Leslie's bank account is endless. Ridiculous. -- I agree with others that Vanessa wants to take Joey down, but again, what does that mean? We know MVJ loves Jon Lindstrom. I can't see her letting him go. -- I like the Izaiah character, but it's now hilarious that he spends all his time at Uptown telling people he's going to work at Banneker. -- Seems like Izaiah, Jacob, and Andre all get fitted for shackets for 80% of their wardrobe. Will they share fits? -- The country club needs a new chef. Those meals all look like they're made for people on severe diets.
  17. I have a full love/hate relationship with this 60th celebration. Even with all the great returns and wonderful flashbacks, the budget cuts cast a pall over all of it. Characters are present one day at the Square, gone the next, to such an extent it makes no sense. Was this the only way to present this story? I won't repeat who disappeared and who's missing -- others have pointed it out, and they're right. So while this has been enjoyable, I can't forget how much better it could have been. It really is a glass half full/half empty situation.
  18. With the rushed pace and way of filming soaps these days, I'm not sure it's fair to make negative remarks about the Y&R cast or any other soap. The shade was slight, but it was there. I like Heather Tom, but she left Y&R almost over two decades ago -- in 2003 when she was 28. Things and people look a lot different when you're in your 20s and when you're 50. And was HT that "family-oriented" at Y&R? Leaving the show because of a paycut and poor contract negotiations? That rear-view mirror is really special.
  19. Did I just hear Laura tell Dante that Sonny would be a "calming influence" on Rocco? Has she met Sonny?
  20. -- Very few comments on today's show because it wasn't very good. -- The stories are fine, but the writer execution is so off. -- The Vernon cufflinks thing makes no sense. If they want to build a story that makes it seem like he's cheating (but isn't), this ain't it. -- Dani and Andre just sitting at the airport all that time telling about where they could go was weird as hell. -- I again have to complain about how much money Leslie has. We had to hand wave it away once, then again, then another time, and again. They keep reminding us that the story makes no sense. -- Why didn't they say she also won millions in the lottery? At least then we could believe she was building a shouse and a sports complex and paying for others' operations and making huge charitable donations. -- She got $1M in that first check. ONE MILLION. You cannot do all that on a million dollars while also living a wealthy lifestyle. -- Ted continues to be written as a moron. Taking Eva to Winterfest as his +1 -- the day after that huge fight with Kat??? Are you kidding me??? -- Even worse, Nicole gave it her seal of approval and called Ted the sane parent. No, that's not sane. That's not the way to bring your family together. -- We need more realistic hospital scenes. You can't have everyone talking for 10 minutes and in the middle of the conversation mention how busy you are -- followed by head nurse Shanice giving Ashley an hour off for lunch. -- Want to show you're busy at the hospital? They added nurses and support staff today, but still not a patient in sight. -- I'd be ok with Derek getting a quick kiss from the firefighter and then stopping it. Instead, we were heading to a full blown make out session on Ashley's couch. Derek wasn't innocent, but what's the message they're sending about that girl? -- I just think today's episode was filled with bad writing all over the place.
  21. -- Christine and Danny are just now talking details with their wedding planner? What? -- And why make the wedding planner a total nut job? -- Meanwhile, poor Aria. One mother is in a psych clinic and the other one spends all her time with Daniel.
  22. I agree with that, but those people are not going to feel the brunt of viewer attacks.
  23. Britt has been so completely unlikable, and it's all punctuated by her feelings that Rocco belongs to her. GH seems to be invested in Britt, yet clueless that she needs to be someone we don't actively detest.
