  1. P.S. I could not care less about Kevin and whether or not he goes to Dublin for 6 months. It's hilarious that they think we care about the Laura/Kevin relationship.
  2. Is it now Brady's Country Pub? Who in the hell decided that ALL the music there would be country twang?
  3. I love this entire post way too much. Thanks for the truths and the laughs! -- Regarding "Brad and Britt are not the gay icons this show thinks they are. Watching the two of them Yas Queen-ing it up is painful. Also Parry Shen simply isn't a good actor. He's also not hot!" I have a confession. When Ryan Carnes played Lucas, I honestly thought he and Parry Shen had chemistry. I never found him hot the way Carnes is a smokeshow, but I found him attractive. Now? No. Get him off my screen. -- I'm still infatuated with Rory Gibson. His Michael is brooding and sexy in all the right ways. -- Trina's role has been rinse and repeat, but I still think she's getting better materials than Josslyn, who is a complete joke. And I can never take the character Brennan seriously when Joss is such a major player in his world.

  6. SAME. The show has never been worse than it is right now. Never.
  7. Not my point. I specifically mentioned that there has to be something between no cultural references and a half dozen in one conversation.
  8. -- Only 20 minutes in, but I'm rolling my eyes a bit at the dialogue. -- Danielle Page needs to stop jamming in names of sports stars (LeBron James, Simone Biles), sites like The Shade Room, and famous authors and books. There has to be a medium between never mentioning real life (as other soaps do) and forcing it in every conversation. -- And Dani reminding us what a great mother Vanessa is? Uh...show, don't tell. I haven't seen it, and I don't know why I should believe this woman lived her life for her children. -- Just hearing Vanessa talk about "moving on" and "moving forward" with her life so soon after Doug's death says everything about her. I also do not buy for a minute that Donnel would have given her the go-ahead. -- Am I the only one who isn't crazy about Eva and Izaiah as a couple? I've been waiting to feel something, but it's not coming. I think the cliched writing is a problem, but I'm also not sure these actors are a good fit.
  9. You guys watching episodes 5 and 6 -- you're in for it. Phenomenal in every single way.
  10. Thanks for posting this -- it's what we see in EVERY B&B set where there's a window or an outdoor background. They're all terrible and beyond fake looking. This would be a good set if not for that horrific background. The view from $Bill's office is always that awful smog/fog filled nightmare. The Il Giardino set is much better, but the background is worse. The window view in Eric's living room is tragic.
  11. Thank you for this beautiful post.
  12. Good that MVJ continues to connect with her audience, but I wish -- especially in a holiday message -- she'd leave out the negatives. Why even mention those who "don't agree with or like what we're doing"? Why mention that at times viewers don't give grace? I know it's not a big deal, but it does send a message that she's annoyed with viewers who complain. That comes through more than the thanks and best wishes. I don't think this is helpful.
  13. This photo gift from Vernon to Anita.... We need to discuss Andre's career choice, cuz this ain't it. I mean, Photoshop was better than this a decade ago.
  14. I agree. Really enjoyed everything at Alexis's, and the Cody/Molly chemistry is finally there. I love it all, including Willow showing up with Scout.
  15. The whole thing was chef's kiss. The writing in those Gio violin scenes and the way they brought it back was perfect, and the acting by every cast member was on point. So much emotion, all of it authentic. I think the writers, cast, and production nailed it.
  16. -- The competing fashion houses finally holds the possibility that B&B is returning to the kind of soap it should be. -- That wig on Katie is tragic, but Heather Tom killed it today. -- Ridge and Brooke are beyond insufferable, but at least KKL gets something to do when Brooke is a total bitch. Acting like she owns the Logan name is enough to make me want Katie and $Bill to trample her. -- Donna is also a bitch. -- Hard to believe we're getting this Dylan story immediately after Luna, but I'm good with it, especially if we get Finn and Will walking around shirtless all the time.
  17. I completely agree. Their response to all this has been incredible, and I've fallen in love with these guys -- not in the way I love Shane and Ilya, but still. Part of me says that this is just a reaction that every human being should have, but I also know that isn't the world we live in. To have true allies like this is groundbreaking and mind-blowing. I cry watching our boys on the show, but I admit I also cry listening to the Empty Netters and to the guys over at What Chaos. Maybe their support shouldn't mean so much to me, but it does. Heated Rivalry is such a win for so many, and so long coming, but these podcasts are also a victory. I didn't really know how much I needed to see and experience queer joy -- unabashed and unashamed. I want to live in that world. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. If I come off as melodramatic, all I can say is that I'm holding back because I know how emotional I am over this experience.
  18. Really disappointed in the ornament hanging this year. Julie, Eli, and Lani hanging only a few ornaments was a real letdown.
  19. Y&R should stop showing classic episodes, because they just remind us of how much this show has fallen. -- Yes, today's repeat gave us the 1,745th play on A Christmas Carol, but at least it was well done. A lot of the cast was included, former characters returned, and the play on Scrooge was spot on. I didn't even mind Victor again ranting "I was raised in an orphanage!" -- Seeing Billy Miller made me sad. -- The big problem? We know that Victor never changed. He hasn't grown at all since this or any other classic episode. We get these huge statement episodes that essentially mean nothing. Still, at least the classic was well done. -- Yesterday's show was beyond lazy. -- Devoid of characters, devoid of family, devoid of energy, devoid of any holiday feeling. -- I've already mentioned the terrible excuses for characters who weren't present. The Abbotts were especially embarrassing. Seeing them all together was a common thing. Yesterday, NO ONE was there except for Jack and Diane. -- Even worse? Jack throws in dialogue mentioning "family." Are you kidding me with this? -- And yes, Courtney Hope was given Emmy bait with Sally's scene about her sad childhood. But do any of us care? We saw NONE of that, which is typical Josh Griffith. And Sally's talking to Victoria? Why? -- Katie and Johnny were good, but as I've said, we won't see them again, so why should I care? The stuff with that sad tree was pathetic, and just shows what a terrible parent Billy is. None of it was cute, including the stupid popcorn stringing. -- We used to get scenes showing the rich taking care of the poor on this show. Not this year. Instead, we got mentions of Max Factor and Coco Chanel -- followed by Nikki and Diane getting garish and expensive necklaces, as if that makes up for this show being so broke ass. None of it was touching or emotional. -- I'm actually holding back in the spirit of Christmas, because I could rip on this show even harder. It's gone to complete sh_it.
  20. Soooooo ready! Got my box of tissues right here!
  21. My favorite part of the episode was seeing Hayes bite into a cookie and put it back on the tray. Today's repeat made it clear B&B does lazy Christmas episodes -- shot after shot of decorations in close up and panning the room, followed by a couple of ridiculous gifts, followed by someone opening a bottle of champagne, and ending with Eric singing at the piano. Boring af.
  22. I thought this Christmas episode was lousy. -- Ashley stayed in Paris instead of seeing her daughter and grandchild? Tracy headed out with any instead of bringing Amy to the Abbotts'? Kyle was out with Harrison? -- Jack talked of family being everything while there was no family around. -- Billy bringing up Delia, Sally her sad childhood and Victor his Christmas Eve orphanage story does not a festive Christmas make. -- Johnny and Katie were actually good, but now we won't see them again for 6 months. -- Also good? The cast holiday greetings at the end of the show, but that was a reminder that we didn't get much family in the Christmas episode. -- This episode would have worked if we got a family Christmas show the next day. Instead, we got this quiet, low energy hour. Disappointing.
  23. -- The set looked good and everyone looked great, but it all felt so manufactured. -- With all that happened in the past year, summarizing it as "ups and downs" is pretty hilarious. Gotta love it that AGAIN Carter had to acknowledge his mistakes while Ridge and Eric never apologized for their mistakes in return. Hearing Carter call Ridge his brother and refer to Eric as a father figure makes me sick. -- Did I really hear Ridge say hearing from Eric that he was done at Forrester was the greatest gift he could receive? JFC. -- Eggnog question. Is this just a soap thing or do people really do this? My family never did eggnog. No one I know ever did eggnog. Are we the outsiders?
  24. Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie reading thirst tweets. This is fun but also hot and sexy.
  25. -- Excellent holiday show. Haven't seen the other soaps yet, but I highly doubt any of them will come close to this for warmth and family feeling. -- Not to say "I told you so," but I told you so -- that the best thing for Vernon to do was to sing Clifton Davis' own "Never Can Say Goodbye." It was perfect not only because it's Davis' song, but for every storyline reason. -- Clifton's singing and delivery was perfection. Bravo. That was the emotional high point of the show. -- Leslie was written properly today. She had her win by having dinner at the country club -- very materialistic -- and then was rebuffed on her Ted visit. Pretty sad if you ask me, but deserved. On Y&R, we'd see Phyllis interrupting everyone else's good time, so I'm glad for this writing. -- The diamond earrings Leslie bought Eva looked like glass to me and not even nice cubic zirconia. Was that intentional? -- Pretty telling that Ashley, Derek, and Tomas have all been sidelined for these holiday gatherings. -- For me, the only negative in the episode was the dialogue between Eva and Izaiah. It's just one cliche after another. I actually rewatched their scenes because I thought I might be wrong, but I don't think I am. All of it was absolutely cliche to me and devoid of any real personality.
