I see that happening, too -- keeping Jessica from attending UCLA. I hope they don't do this. It's so cliche and plays into so many stereotypes. Yes, I know it happens and yes, I understand we need drama with young people. I just don't want a "babies having babies" storyline. -- That program for Derek's funeral has me howling! Listing a special section with "Music Guest Anita Williams Dupree and The Articulettes" in a special font is HILARIOUS! 😂

-- The cotillion scenes were again well done and played out in a soapy, interesting way. Very good stuff, although I would have had Jessica and Tyrell leave only after Samantha was crowned. -- I am glad Samantha won, but I also have to side-eye the Dupree takeover at every turn. I actually LOL when one family member after another hit the podium and took over the mic. -- Good move to keep us wondering why Nicole left in a panic for the hospital. -- Once again, Deanna showed us why Vanessa is trash. She mentioned going for ice cream to her mother, and 5 seconds later, Vanessa brings up Joey and then takes his phone call. What a mother. -- I've enjoyed Derek since he was split from Ashley, so I'm not really excited he was killed off. I think that was an easy, obvious choice -- not bold at all. I continue to believe someone in the bad guys crowd should have died. Did I want a dead Lia? Yes. -- Is Lia going to give up the Impaler, or will we be told she doesn't know who it is? Who was arrested at the warehouse? I hope we get some answers on this plasma operation after we're done with Ashley crying over Derek. -- Jen Jacob was good in her later scenes, but in the scene where she first saw Derek on the gurney, she was not good at all, and she struggled to come up with tears. Her performance there didn't work for me. -- Another laugh? Randy jumping out of the cop car and taking off when the shooting started.

Camryn Grimes was good today and Bryton was even better. I do have a problem when shows try to give us reasons for mentally ill characters behaving like they're mentally ill. Devon asked Mariah over and over "WHY did you take Dominic?" Dude, because she was MENTALLY ILL. On another note, Camryn has dropped a lot of weight and looks good.

I'm still waiting for a moment that gives us what Karen Huger did in this BTG promo at the 1:20 mark.

I think you're right, but I still don't think the story holds up under any kind of scrutiny, and no, "It's a soap" isn't enough. When was Jacob going to crack that door? When all the VIPs showed up? Does he even know who the VIPs are? The writers are counting on us not to think about any of this seriously. For months we got nothing but a brick wall. The huge warehouse is cool, but we needed to see it before, with a much better story. We never even saw Grayson or Jacob go to that warehouse or talk about it. And what has Smitty done except check his phone for texts? As I've said, I appreciate production having a lot of action today to cover up the bad, bad story.

I wish you were right, but I really have my doubts. I'm not seeing any sign that Brooke is doing anything but take Xanax by the handful and disrobe for Ridge. Her reaction to being rejected as co-Ceo was pitiful. -- This show seems averse to juicy story. Every time it gets close to that with the fashion houses, Brad Bell pulls the rug and gives us a lame left turn. -- Should we judge Hope For The Future by Hope's wardrobe? Because she looks like Hope From The Prairie. -- As usual, the intro of new couture was hilarious. Eric's designs are nothing. -- Was co-Ceo Steffy at the intro of new couture? No, she was having coffee with her mother. OK then. -- Is Charlie back to play a role in some story, or is this a lame attempt at comic relief? Because watching him interrupt a meeting isn't funny at all. -- LOGAN should close its doors. Katie hasn't had a designer in over a month, and now she's sitting in front of a laptop reading resumes. This woman is running a fashion house? 😂🤣

Nothing to this point shows Derek being a hero. Maybe that'll come, but it hasn't happened yet. If Derek dies while criminals like Lia and Ren live, I won't be happy. Meanwhile, Joey -- the guy in charge -- calls his MAIN ENFORCER Randy to check on things. Huh? Randy couldn't even get into the warehouse without cops pulling him. What were the police waiting for regarding a move into the warehouse? Seems like only gunfire told them to go in 😂

-- Very ambitious episode, much of it successful, some not so much. -- Wardrobe continues to shine, and as others have said, the choreography was outstanding. I appreciate the time and effort put into all of it. This cotillion has been so much better than Winterfest there's no sense comparing them. It's been really good stuff. -- I do wonder about the choice to add the contemporary dance moves for the group and for Jessica. I know they had reasons for it -- bring the cotillion into the modern world included -- but I'd prefer a ceremony honoring tradition remaining traditional. Those 2026 dance moves added nothing. The cotillion traditions were covered and portrayed SO well, and I wish the show had stayed with that. They clearly wanted to show us that the Duprees -- again -- are progressive and awesome while everyone else is staid and stuffy. I just don't think using the cotillion to pimp the Duprees was necessary. The same thing was done by having everyone in charge get sick so the Duprees could take over the entire event. I mean, really??? And Deanna showing up in all black was just plain weird. -- I loved balancing the bright cotillion with the dark warehouse, but I'm really meh on the warehouse execution. I'll give them credit for all that movement which covers up a really terrible story that makes little sense if you think about it. -- Why was Randy picked up and thrown into the cop car? Wouldn't they let him go into the warehouse since he might be part of the operation? And what the hell did Joey send him there to check on anyway??? Made no sense. -- Why would Lia show up at the warehouse at all? This woman has been in power and control, yet she'd show up for a "VIP meeting"? Whatever that is. And why is this free clinic seemingly THE key to the entire operation when we saw ONE locked plasma container at the clinic? -- What is supposed to be going on at the warehouse? A VIP meeting? Or Jacob and Grayson delivering plasma in small carrying cases? Are they the only ones delivering plasma? Why is Ren the only one walking around until the very end when we get gunfire? And why didn't the cops stop Derek from entering? -- The huge warehouse set works in a "Hey, look over here!" way to distract us from a story that is really a mess. I can't wait until it's over, but I think they're going to drag it and not tell us who the Impaler is.

Black representation on the soaps is a problem. You know what else I don't like about this Isaiah injury? Another Black surgeon being sidelined. Didn't we see this happen with Nate Hastings on Y&R? He was never able to return to surgery. If that happens to Isaiah, I'm going to be pissed.

DAYS: May 2026 Discussion Thread
I so agree about the music. About a month ago, I started binging DAYS on weekends instead of watching daily, and that highlights even more how bad the music is. Sadly, they're committed to it and see it as a trademark of the show. It's off almost all the time.

I still can't get over Curtis saying that to Isaiah. I mean, it's absolutely bonkers. I started seeing their chemistry on their first scenes together. Honestly, it's the most chem Eden McCoy has had with any actor. -- They really intro'd the Jonathan Bennett character by having him cuff a guy after a fight? I don't understand portraying him as such a hardass to Curtis. Acting-wise, it was a solid first day. -- Bennett looks like he could be related to Josh Swickard. If they played brothers, I'd buy it. -- And what is this? Not Without My Daughter 2?

Brooke's reaction could not have been lamer. She sweetly kisses Ridge after he says no??? All she asks is that he consider reinstating Hope For The Future, and then sends a congratulatory text to Steffy, followed by throwing her body at Ridge? Talk about a complete THUD. -- The kid playing Hayes is really bad. -- Not that anyone works hard on this show, but Dylan takes the cake. I mean, the girl does NOTHING.

-- It will never not be hilarious that Hayley does her poisoning right out in the open, or that she hasn't come up with a decent story about her past and her family. -- I have no problem with Derek treating Grayson as he has. He was right all along. -- Am I missing something? Why is Lia giving ANY kind of orders to Derek about who to work with at the free clinic? Why does she hv any say at all? -- Jacob had the line of the day with his street "Fo sho." -- Good stuff on the cotillion prep today, although I thought the men looked better than the women as a whole. The tuxes were all classic and elegant. -- For the women, I thought Dani's dress from Naomi's cotillion was much better than the one for Samantha's. I didn't like all that fringe. -- Anita, Kat, and Nicole looked great. I didn't like Naomi's dress color at all, but did like her hair. Chelsea's dress was too much, and needed to get rid of at least one accessory. Ruth looked great, although I don't get the big deal about changing wigs. -- Samantha and Jessica both looked incredible.

Re: the mac and cheese. I prefer the crusty version, but I was OK with what Izaiah served, although I would have liked seeing a side of greens. That was weird. What bothered me MUCH more was that JOEY taught Izaiah to cook -- not his mother Darlene. Are you kidding me with this??? I expect this show to celebrate Black culture, and that was an easy way to do it. I am so sick of Golden Corral Casino Mobster Joey being shown as the mentor and savior for Black people. Will we hear that he taught Tyrell how to dance for the cotillion?

-- Matt's time on the show should be about up, but Griffith is such a terrible writer that we know Matt will be around longer than he should be. I'm already burned out on Matt Clark, so RH can go tomorrow. -- Josh Morrow has ben doing really nice work, I agree -- his strongest in years. He's better than the writing in the addiction story, I know that. -- Cane and Lily continue to be a highlight for me. BF and CK have really strong chemistry. -- Shemar Moore's return kicked off a lot of story for other characters, but now we're left with not seeing Malcolm, the focus of all this story. -- The Newman company fights with Phyllis are still a snore. I just don't care about any of it. -- The show looks good and it feels like they're doing better with sets, but it's still not good.

I see a lot of opinion online that the Impaler is either Carlton or Kial. Greg Vaughan appears far too infrequently, so that's a shrug if he's named. Carlton? Eh...I wish I could get excited about that reveal. Ideally, this disclosure should be shocking, and Carlton wouldn't be. The truth is that the entire plasma story has been so badly written that I don't care all that much. If Carlton is named, doesn't that mean he's off the show? MVJ seems to show a lot of loyalty to actors/characters whether they're working or not. Characters on soaps have been getting away with crimes for decades, I know, but we already have Joey and Leslie getting away with a ton. I just want whoever this Impaler is to be off the show.

I don't think it's love for Jamey Giddens. I think it's the absurdity of reading that Giddens' breakdowns are all horrible but the other writers are wonderful and amazing.

-- Eva's wigs are out of control. She has more hair every day. -- Shanice also needs a new wig. She's too attractive to allow that long straight hair to swallow her face. -- Monica went in WAY too hard on the "Go for it 100%" to Shanice regarding her deal with Ted. It practically ignored Shanice protecting herself and considering all that's gone down. Throwing Monica in this scene feels like what they do with Mona -- give us a character and actress we like and then write something that doesn't work. -- A 20-second lecture from Eva gets Samantha to realize she belongs at the cotillion? Uh....ok. -- I wish Samantha were half as nice to Tyrell as he is to her. -- Elon and Marcel's involvement in the plasma storyline makes it clear this should have happened MUCH sooner. The entire story would have benefited from it. -- It's clear we're going to get the plasma story climax at the same time as the cotillion. I'm not sure I agree with this decision. We'll get a lot happening, but it feels like neither will be fleshed out the way they could be. -- This week was pretty laid back. Why not devote more of this week to one major story element and next week to the other? -- All of a sudden the free clinic is VITAL to the blood plasma operation, to the point that Grayson's life is threatened. This is after months of scenes in front of a brick wall, followed by a hospital stairwell. -- And now the "VIPs" of the operation need to all meet at some warehouse? Jesus, just end this already. -- Is Derek's life in danger? I'm not a huge Derek fan, but if he's knocked off to service this lame plasma story, it'll be a mistake. -- Seeing the previews of the cotillion has me optimistic. Wardrobe looks great and it looks populated with a ton of extras.

Exactly. I would think religious/spiritual viewers would be offended by this portrayal. Every line is about Jesus, church, the Lord, prayer....it's ridiculous, especially when the character appears so infrequently. I don't know what they're doing. Yep. Devoting all those scenes to this and feeling nothing at the end of it? Just a waste. I don't fault any of the actors. This was all on the writing which was WAY too soft and demure on Nicole and Samantha's end. We've seen Nicole become fiery before this. So why not now? And Samantha has a nastier mouth with her own brother than she does with Francesca.

😂🤣 We can always count on hearing that the Jamey Giddens breakdown is awful -- but always saved by the incredible script writer! -- I don't mind a PSA for a serious issue, but the PSA for Anita's cancer treatment went on far too long. Carrying the message across multiple scenes slowed down the entire episode. -- I'd rather we get more cotillion prep. That's really been lacking. -- Vanessa continues to act like she's been some mother of the year as she reminisces about her past. If they wants to soften her and show us how warm and thoughtful she is, it doesn't work for me. I think she's delusional and lacks any sense of self-awareness. She needs Donnell and Joey to get along? Jesus. -- I like Mona as a character, and the actress is good. However, giving us Mona once a month and making every other line about Jesus is too much. Nothing about it is organic, which is what is needed. I can't disagree with this. Even with the Anastasia/Francesca scenes with Nicole and Samantha, I didn't feel much heat. It was fine but I wanted more than fine. The entire episode was pretty meh to me.
