Just watched the utterly stupid conversation among Ashley, Naomi, and Shanice, comparing guys to ice cream flavors. Ashley claims she'd been stuck on mint chocolate chip but now is loving raspberry sorbet. Wait -- so Andre wasn't a different flavor than Derek??? Are we supposed to pretend she never went into heat over Andre???

"New day, new Ashley"? Very cute, writers, but so far this is just more of the same -- Ashley wanting some guy. She's now on her THIRD man in a year, getting stars in er eyes after one "date." Is that all this character is? One who moves from guy to guy to guy? I guess all Ashley's dreams about international travel are over, now that she's falling for a lab tech. I like Jordi -- so easy on the eyes -- but we do not need another laid back, mellow guy with no energy. Carlton's already failing at that.

I won't watch that interview, because I think the character is such a mess. JT is a good actor, but he never fit as Billy. Then you have years of bad writing on top of it. Billy Miller was always going to be very difficult to follow, but this was a complete casting miss. I have no desire to watch a video where Thompson talks about how much he loves Billy and Y&R and kisses up to his bosses and the garbage head writer.

-- My God, the repetition today was worse than it usually is. The Will/Electra/Dylan and Brooke/Ridge/Donna conversations were almost word-for-word the same we've heard before -- multiple times. -- I love Katie getting her own fashion house, but hearing her tell Eric that she has no idea what she wants her fashion to be is just ridiculous. -- I also like Eric going to work for Katie, but putting a guy who's 95 years old in charge of design is laughable. Oh, that's right, Katie will counter that by hiring Deke -- a guy with no track record anywhere.

-- Good to see Cady M back. I've grown to appreciate how over-the-top and affected her performance is. -- "It was all a dream" is a soap staple, but I don't think this one worked. I have no idea why, with everything going on in her life, Dani would think of Hayley approaching her with test results. -- Did someone tell Robert Christopher Riley to play Carlton like he's somnambulant? It doesn't come off as mature and professional, but as boring and soulless. -- I get the soapy reasons for keeping Dani in Bill's life, but I wish she didn't return to Bill time and time again for support. I just can't forget all this man has done to her. -- I continue to be amused by comments declaring the breakdown a mess, followed by over a dozen comments about how awesome every aspect of the episode was 😂

DAYS: January 2026 Discussion Thread
It's just more proof that these writers are terrible. DAYS is no longer on the list of the most watched Peacock shows. Viewership is clearly down. So what do these writers do? Give more air time to the characters who have been appearing during this downfall. I'm talking Leo. If they think Leo is the future of this show, just cancel it already. I don't think these writers know what they're doing.

-- Not crazy about today's show at all. Way too much cancer. -- While I appreciate the beats being played -- and that the show can't ignore any of these family repercussions -- I don't think this plays well for an extended period. It's always a gamble when a show introduces a potentially fatal disease. In this case, it extends to others. -- Writing this story is above my pay grade, but I still know when it's "too much." -- Danielle Page's script writing was filled with cliches and idioms, as usual. Her characters speak differently from those of other writers. I was going to post a list here of all the cliches I heard today, but I gave up after 20 minutes when I already had over a dozen. -- I didn't like the way Nicole behaved today, drunk or not. Having trouble with the cancer stuff? Yes. Acting like the Dani we've known for a year? No. -- Carlton as Nicole's steady hand? Zzzzzzzzzzz. Sorry, he's boring, no matter how tight his pants are. -- I continue to dislike the PDA between Madison and Chelsea right in the open at the hospital. It's not cute. -- I'll give Ashley and Grayson a shot. I like Jordi Vilasuso and Jen Jacob is a better fit with him than with Ben Gavin (who got terrible writing). But chemistry? That jury is out. -- I do think it was ridiculous for Ashley to turn down a kiss because "Naomi is watching" but she's ready to hit the sheets at home with Grayson before they have even one drink. It just came off as more immaturity and fickleness from Ashley.

ARTICLE: ‘Days Of Our Lives’ Fires Four: Carson Boatman, Raven Bowens, Leo Howard & Ashley Puzemis
This makes no sense to me. I really think this show is in deep trouble. Getting rid of two major couples in their age group is ridiculous. How much more budget cutting can this show do before we're left with The Leo Show?

I'm fine with this show getting rid of Carlton any day now. He's boring and uninteresting, and the make-up session with Ted didn't work for me at all. I know bro code is a trope, but come on. You lose the love of your life, you best friend steps in, and a couple months later "We're good"? No.

Heated Rivalry
@vetsoapfan I agree about your posts -- they're great, and your insights nail it. I can't get enough of Heated Rivalry or of the 4 lead actors. I've destroyed my algorithm on IG, Threads, and Facebook, so I'm fed so much HR content I should be embarrassed. But I'm not. I fully admit I'm obsessed right now with this show and especially with Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie. I've never seen better chemistry -- ever -- and I am ridiculously happy about their success. The last rewatch I've done of a TV show or series? I honestly don't remember. Even if I love a show, I'm content with one watch. I'm now on my 4th Heated Rivalry binge, and I don't think I'm insane.

-- This needy, insecure Sheila is a miss. -- Carter is such a bad character that all I can do is laugh. He asks every woman who looks at him to marry him. A guy who looks like LSV should be in such demand that...well, you know. -- I Remy gone? Christian Weissman wins an Emmy and then nothing. I guess Deke will be straight by next month.

DAYS: January 2026 Discussion Thread
I agree that DAYS has been bad. I've never been more than a day behind before. Now? I haven't watched ALL WEEK. On Tuesday, and even on Wednesday, I told myself I had to catch up. Today? I don't care. I love the soaps but there's too much good TV to watch to spend my time on this. The elements and the actors are all there, and this has nothing to do with budget. They are WASTING this cast. It's like watching paint dry. They get these great looking guys and do NOTHING with them. No one brought back since Cwikly and Ford started writing has had a decent storyline. It's all awful. Wasting Jeremy and Liam is palm-to-forehead stuff. Turning Leo into the star of the show is just fuc_king insane. What the actual fuc_k???

-- Carter is so embarrassing. A woman just looks at him, and he gets on his knee and pulls out the ring. -- Remy is more proof that a Daytime Emmy means nothing. Has the guy appeared in even 5 episodes since the Emmy win? -- Knowing Brad Bell's track record, Remy will see Deke and Tyler together and become jealous -- reverting back to who he was with Electra. This show is on a run of psychos, you know. -- As far as gay guys having sex, I'm fine with Deke and Tyler getting at it right away. These are young guys with raging hormones. It's 2026. The truth is that IRL they'd have sex before the weekend was over. I'm tired of the soaps being stuck in some fantasy romance that was big 50 years ago.

-- Good reveals today, and I'm especially glad they weren't dragged out. Seems like a better choice for storyline to give Dani the cancer gene rather than Nicole. -- I've been a big Kat fan, but she was embarrassing this week. All week. It was all about her, every moment. She thought of no one else. And today? She made her "I'm sorry I wasn't there for everyone" again all about her. I think she's been awful. -- I don't like that everyone i immediately forgiving Kat for her selfishness and immaturity to the point where some are apologizing to her for not giving her more understanding. Are you kidding me? -- And now Kat says "I'm going to be there for all of you!" Again, it's about her. Pathetic. -- It's nice that Anita got her own hotel-like room in which to get her cancer treatment. I guess it pays to be rich and powerful. -- This episode was paced perfectly and well done in all respects. Still, I have to say my mileage varies on the emotional pull. I personally don't think any of it was gut-wrenching or heart-wrenching.

The Eva and Izaiah coupling is a big miss for me so far. Feels like we get the same cliched conversation every day. I did a little research on cotillions, because I honestly thought they were a thing of the past and that the show was off base. I was wrong -- cotillions are still a thing, especially in the South AND in the Delmarva area, which is close to DC. While I appreciate getting two sides of the cotillion, I would have preferred that Jessica have an influence on Tyrell over time and not in one episode where she laid it all out and he became this expert on it. -- I agree with others here that the show needs another Black family. I know everything can't happen in a day or a week, but it is getting to be claustrophobic. -- I said it a couple days ago and I'll say it again: GATES needs to be careful about having us overdose on the cancer storyline. -- Now I have something else to bitch about regarding Joey. His influence over Blacks in this town is bad enough, but now he becomes a major player with the free clinic??? I hate it. -- Had to smile at the furniture update and rearrangement at Martin and Smitty's. We needed lots of seating for today's conversations with 5 characters, so all of a sudden we got 2 wing chairs blocking the entire fireplace. 😂

I thought the show was veering away from "fake Nathan" until the end of the show today. Dante made a pretty big deal out of Nathan messing up the evidence chain of custody, and that seems like it might be a sign that this isn't Nathan -- because would a great detective do something like that? Of course, we also have to forget all the mistakes that Dante makes. And by the way, Ryan Paevey is beautiful.
