  1. Um, was there anything good about Marcy Walker's 1993-95 stint as Tangie Hill on Guiding Light? A certain Facebook friend of mine has told me that he enjoyed seeing Marcy on GL even though the actress herself has admitted that the stint didn't turn out so well.
  2. Can someone tell me about Robert Stack's five-episode stint as Roland Saunders on Falcon Crest in 1987? I grew up watching Mr. Stack on Unsolved Mysteries.
  3. https://open.spotify.com/episode/1X7C1NHkFjrXy3eyvaWfhq
  4. Um, would it be a good idea for a Peyton Place reboot to include a new version of the Kim Schuster character that Kimberly Beck played during the 1965-66 period?
  5. Does the 1976 TV miniseries Rich Man, Poor Man qualify as a primetime soap opera? How the 1976-77 TV miniseries Rich Man, Poor Man Book II?
  6. @SoapDope78 Do you think Robin Mattson would have fared well as Julie Clegg on Capitol? It is worth noting that Ms. Mattson left General Hospital around the same time that Kimberly Beck left Capitol.
  7. Um, was the late Nicolas Coster ever considered for a role on Capitol? How about Robin Mattson? Kin Shriner? Considering the sheer number of daytime soap operas that each actor appeared on, it wouldn't surprise me if I were to find out that they were considered for roles on Capitol. Would Robin Mattson have fared well as Julie Clegg on Capitol? It's my understanding that Ms. Mattson left General Hospital around the same time that Kimberly Beck left Capitol.
  8. @Chris B Why? Remember that scene where Kim Schuster secretly witnessed Joe Chernak (Don Quine) getting fatally injured in a fall?
  9. Should a Peyton Place reboot feature a new version of the Kim Schuster character that Kimberly Beck played on the original TV series?
  10. @John I have recently said the following: @DRW50 @SoapDope78 Can someone possibly tell me when Kimberly Beck's final scenes as Julie Clegg aired? By the way, I came across this 1982 video interview with Kimberly Beck and Debrah Farentino today.
  11. Did Susan Richardson act like a total brat as Susan Bradford?
  12. @FrenchFan @MissPalmer Which actress was hired to play Samantha Livingstone first: Kimberly Beck or Marla Pennington? How long was Ms. Beck with General Hospital? Was Kimberly Beck just a temporary replacement for Marla Pennington? Did Ms. Beck even have a contract with GH?
  13. @Vee Jamey Giddens, who at least used to do stuff for Daytime Confidential, thought that Patch and Kayla's 2006 return to the Days canvas stunk big time. Patch's casket had been switched at a 1990 funeral, had it not?
  14. @Vee Has One Life to Live been your favorite daytime soap opera of all time? Can you possibly tell me if any OLTL storylines had horror elements? Do you remember A Martinez as Ray Montez?
  15. @FrenchFan No offense, but this article basically indicates that it was Kimberly Beck, not Marla Pennington, who initially played Samantha Livingstone on GH in 1975. However, it's my understanding that Pennington did replace Beck somewhere down the line. I don't know Beck's reason(s) for leaving the show. Yes, I am aware that Pennington was let go along with a bunch of other GH cast members (including future Hill Street Blues regular James Sikking) in early 1976. The 1975-76 period may have been a particularly rough one for GH, but I still find it unfortunate that most (if not all) of the GH episodes from that period have been "wiped." *sigh*
  16. @Broderick When you get a chance, check out this article.
  17. @Broderick You mean the writing for Capitol was painfully mediocre overall? Do you think it's just as well that Kimberly Beck appeared in the slasher movie Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter in the spring of 1984 instead of on Capitol? (Um, when did Beck's final scenes on Capitol air?) It's very much worth noting that Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert hated The Final Chapter back in '84. In fact, Siskel and Ebert hated the Friday the 13th feature film franchise in general during the first half of the '80s.
  18. What did David Mason Daniels do as Jerry Baldwin? What type of character was Jerry Baldwin?
  19. Here is a link to mugshot-type photo of Carrington Garland related to Santa Barbara: http://santabarbara-online.com/Kellyn3-52.jpg For the record, Carrington Garland appeared as Kelly Capwell on Santa Barbara from 1989 to 1991.
  20. Um, how long did David Mason Daniels last as Jerry Baldwin on Days of our Lives in 1986? One episode? In any case, it's my understanding that Mr. Daniels didn't act much after he was let go from Capitol in 1985.
  21. @SoapDope78 Have you seen a 1991 episode of the Michael Chiklis TV series The Commish known as "Behind the Storm Door"? I can't say I have, but Kimberly Beck's in it. A certain Facebook friend of mine has told me that she essentially plays "a crazy woman stalker." When you get a chance, check out this relevant link. By the way, I legitimately own Making of a Male Model on DVD.
  22. I wonder what the legendary Michael Logan, who at least used to write about daytime soap operas for TV Guide, has thought of Capitol. I wonder if he has had an opinion of Kimberly Beck's work on the show.
  23. Um, how come Santa Barbara's Cruz and Eden aren't on this list? How come All My Children's Jesse and Angie aren't on the list? I can't say it doesn't bother me that the entry about AMC's Greg and Jenny doesn't bring up Liza Colby.
  24. @Broderick Are you at least somewhat familiar with Santa Barbara? If so, do you think it was much better than Capitol overall? John Conboy did have a stint as executive producer of Santa Barbara in the early '90s.
  25. In this 1985 article, John Conboy admits that David Mason Daniels was a wonderful human being. However, Conboy also essentially says that Daniels was a stiff actor. No offense, but is it safe to say that Daniels and his Tyler character were forced down viewers' throats? The actor was given three years to catch on, for crying out. Um, is it too harsh to say that David Mason Daniels was the Roman Reigns of daytime-soap actors back in the '80s?
