  1. I always thought that KV was the more attractive one, but i always had a thing for cute round-eyed red-heads.
  2. I only recall them doing Founders Day once. The following August, General Hospital would do something similar with period costumes and such with the Wedding Train plot.
  3. This day in 1984- Founders Day begins in Springfield.
  4. IIRC, Blake became a minister (via online course) in some short of hair-brained scheme to trick Ross into marrying her again.
  5. I think if Reva wasn't there they we would've had many of the same plots, but with Harley instead. OTT plots to get attention.
  6. The SORAS inconsistency was crazy. Late 80s child Daisy/Susan was stunted in her aging while being leapfrogged by Jonathan, Elizabeth, Coop and Shayne. Don't forget Leah Bauer leapfrogging over Harley's boys because they refused to age any of her kids up under any circumstance- even after BE was gone.
  7. @P.J.Clear case of sexism, where they wanted someone more "conventially" attractive for Michelle while Buffington is kept for about three years or so more.
  8. @alwaysAMC if you think you hate Michael Burke now, just wait until 1998. 😆
  9. At least she had those 14 months where Blake was in a coma. FYI, Blake was also a real estate agent, ordained minister and mayor.
  10. I remember Billy holding a Lewis Oil meeting in the park during the final years. He was mentoring his future daughter-in-law Lizzie in business as she was seeking independence from Spaulding. Lizzie was like Mindy 2.0
  11. RH's Paul made me take notice of the character. Of course, I relish in OTT scenery chewing. SH's Paul was dull, he should've played it "bigger." It's what I expect and love about the daytime soaps over Primetime. Same thing with Deas on GL, but it got tiresome after the first couple years.
  12. Mike was Alan's former father-in-law. His daughter Hope (last seen in '83) is Alan-Michael's mom. He's the "Michael" in Alan-Michael.
  13. I just read on FB that the Blake Marler channel was taken down.
  14. I keep trying to post a NEW video link, but the one I posted a month ago keeps coming up instead. I was trying to post the 2002 "lifesavers" intro and the 1987 50th anniversary promo. https://youtu.be/zNfUq0f9b4A?si=Z2zLnWlD7BqAE8Zs https://youtu.be/MNsv31l5l9g?si=UpeHqHbwPzqEdxeV
  15. There is a destiny that makes us brothers None goes his way alone All that we send into the lives of others Will come back into its own
  16. GL 2002-03 Intro "Fifty Years on Television"
  17. Tomorrow is Guiding Light's TV anniversary. Debuting June 30, 1952.
  18. I was so tempted to go with my mom to the farewell tour when they stopped in Pittsburgh. We Pittsburghers were always a loyal fan base for the show.
  19. Reminds me of when Alan was putting hits on people under the Wheeler era. When Harley was being framed by Alan for Phillip's murder, Alan had a guy killed that Harley/Gus were onto. At least RR's Alan knew enough to hire people to do his dirty work by then.
  20. So your mom was the one person who liked Pilon as Alan! LOL At the time (I as 10) I thought DP was fine as Alan. Looking back on it, he was kinda surly but I'd still take him over Ron Raines in a heartbeat. RR Alan was a joke, a cartoon. It's a wonder he wasn't paired with Carmen Santos who was also a cartoonish "mustache-twirling," villain.

  22. Len Tucker anchors this 1984 afternoon news break that followed an episode of the popular daytime drama "Guiding Light" ending with a baby-naming contest. They hoped to lure younger viewers, but like soaps, comic books were on a steady decline. Marvel had an event called "Civil War" and they had a 50-State Initiative with state sponsored super-heroes in every state. The Guiding Light character looked very similar to then Ms Marvel Carol Danvers appearance. Frankly, I was more of a DC reader myself.
