  1. @alwaysAMC the Alan-Annie Wedding is in the second half of January 98. It was the first episode of GL i flipped on after returning from The Phillipines, didn't know what all was going on but it was an exciting episode.
  2. @alwaysAMC The way I remember it, Budig's contract wasn't renewed. TPTB were looking for a place for Bethany Joy Lenz on canvas, after her strong performance as the teenage clone Reva. At one point they considered bringing her on as a niece for Reva via Johnny and Roxie. Budig's final scene was a Friday cliffhanger and was quite memorable.
  3. NSA was weak as Michelle. My favorite was Bethany Joie Lenz. I thought Daniel Cosgrove really gelled ás both Bill Lewis on GL and Chris Hughes on ATWT. Bill/Michelle not being endgame was for the best, Bill's best pairing by far was with Lizzie. That pair was a bright spot during the end times. Miss Sally was revealed to be the mother of both Billy Lewis and Kyle Sampson. She really served it to Reva a few times IIRC.
  4. Guiding Light on 60 Minutes pt 1.  9-13-09
  5. @alwaysAMC overall, I felt 2002/early 2003 was the best thd show's been since 1999. We got Ed back, the mob and the island were being phased out, we got a new show intro, and Bill and Michelle were finally FINALLY paired up.
  6. @alwaysAMC I always enjoy your reviews. I was out of the country on a family trip from Oct-mid Jan, so its neat reading the details of this period.
  7. Beth and Alan's daughter was named Peyton. Beth was with Rick at the same time, but the child ended up being Alan's.
  8. Thanks for the replies, solid business reasons. I wasn't born yet back then.
  9. It was so dumb of NBC not to expand The Doctors to one hour. I wonder why they lacked the confidence to do so. I know they did a test episode, but it would've made more sense than bloating AW to 90 minutes. AW never recovered and GH became a ratings monster.
  10. @P.J. FH said once (SOD?) that she was offered the role of Eve Guthrie which was contract, but took the 'short-term' role of Jenna instead because it was more interesting. @alwaysAMC Re: Nola. Nola's movie fantasies were charming delight in the 80s under Marland, but just came off as sad as an older woman in the 1990s. In regards to Trish, she was the first Lewis introduced, followed by Josh (1981?). Created by Doug Marland, Pam Long added the rest in 1983 and made them explicitly southern. In addition to Ross, she was involved with Alan. The Mindy at the funeral is Kimberly Simms, the second Mindy- the one who played out the affair with Roger. Future Mindy cameos would be by Krista Tesreau, Mindy #1.
  11. I always thought that KV was the more attractive one, but i always had a thing for cute round-eyed red-heads.
  12. I only recall them doing Founders Day once. The following August, General Hospital would do something similar with period costumes and such with the Wedding Train plot.
  13. This day in 1984- Founders Day begins in Springfield.
  14. IIRC, Blake became a minister (via online course) in some short of hair-brained scheme to trick Ross into marrying her again.
  15. I think if Reva wasn't there they we would've had many of the same plots, but with Harley instead. OTT plots to get attention.
  16. The SORAS inconsistency was crazy. Late 80s child Daisy/Susan was stunted in her aging while being leapfrogged by Jonathan, Elizabeth, Coop and Shayne. Don't forget Leah Bauer leapfrogging over Harley's boys because they refused to age any of her kids up under any circumstance- even after BE was gone.
  17. @P.J.Clear case of sexism, where they wanted someone more "conventially" attractive for Michelle while Buffington is kept for about three years or so more.
  18. @alwaysAMC if you think you hate Michael Burke now, just wait until 1998. 😆
  19. At least she had those 14 months where Blake was in a coma. FYI, Blake was also a real estate agent, ordained minister and mayor.
  20. I remember Billy holding a Lewis Oil meeting in the park during the final years. He was mentoring his future daughter-in-law Lizzie in business as she was seeking independence from Spaulding. Lizzie was like Mindy 2.0
  21. RH's Paul made me take notice of the character. Of course, I relish in OTT scenery chewing. SH's Paul was dull, he should've played it "bigger." It's what I expect and love about the daytime soaps over Primetime. Same thing with Deas on GL, but it got tiresome after the first couple years.
  22. Mike was Alan's former father-in-law. His daughter Hope (last seen in '83) is Alan-Michael's mom. He's the "Michael" in Alan-Michael.
  23. I just read on FB that the Blake Marler channel was taken down.
