  1. I missed this sentence and just assumed you were describing something that already happened. I didn't question it.
  2. The show was honestly so good since the Nurse's Ball up until last week with Natalia's nonsense and this week with the focus squarely on Sonny. The show loses all momentum when it goes back to this dude. He's boooooring. The same conversations about him are boooooring. The episode with the fire was one of the worst I've seen, looked like crap, bad blocking (Kristina could have gone out the back several times over before Marco showed up) the actors seems under-rehearsed, the dialogue was awful. Just bad TV.
  3. Not Independence Day though! 🤣
  4. Should’ve been a week of episodes recapping the first few months of the show (I think Sunset Beach did this at one point? Not that it turned out great for them but I like the idea). I would’ve checked that out, could’ve helped me understand what characters/stories truly matter to the overall narrative.
  5. I think at this point any blonde will do lmao Was Curtis ever a good character? In the 2-ish years since returning to the show I don’t think I’ve enjoyed a single scene of his. He’s so morally superior and DT talks like an anchorman who’s been at the job too long. Similar to Chad in his last few years he radiates “over it”. And I might be projecting or taking his old black Luke Spencer comment too much to heart but I get the feeling he really resents being stuck in the Black Story ghetto, hates the marriage to Portia and isn’t crazy about being Trina’s father (though clearly has a good rapport with Taby). I’m sure I’m not saying anything revelatory considering we all clock how he perks up when sharing a scene with a Port Charles blonde but every day it bothers me more and more because he’s not like Tanisha Harper who is just a bad actor, he’s pretty obviously IMO not committed to the work. Especially opposite Brook Kerr who clearly relishes finally being on a soap where she’s got dialogue that isn’t mind numbingly awful (all of the time anyway).
  6. Yeah that's the part that bewilders me. They didn't even try. Usually when you get a name actor you at least give it a go. They allowed Natalie to just...exist. There wasn't even a simmer with her, no hint of things to come, no potential plot threads to explore. Everything about her was lukewarm, even her homophobia!
  7. That's exactly what they're going to do. It's just so lame. We all know it'll be reset so it's a bunch of handwringing just because they can and I guess Spoiler Kelly Theibaud needs something to do. Ugh. The amount of time devoted to the end of this "friendship" where Mo spent the majority of it looking like he was overdue for his mid-morning nap is wild. Natalia's got to be one of the biggest headsratchers I've ever seen on this show. Homophobic mother of recently arrived gays, alcoholic (I guess?), former wife of international arms dealer and best friend of local mob boss. In town for a year and a half. Did absolutely nothing of import.
  8. God they probably are setting up that it was Britta's egg and not Lulu's. I hate it. So much. Will the game of hot potato GH plays with reproductive organs and babies ever end?
  9. Haha, I do believe we've now officially put more thought into this plot thread than the writers.
  10. But what is the conversation exactly? "Your mom had an abortion but I didn't". Unless there are other factors like he's anti-abortion or Lulu has been pro-life or they've hammered into him how stupid accidental pregnancies are or something, I can't wrap my head around why he would be upset.
  11. It's really sick the number of convoluted, violating and just plain weird pregnancy stories Lulu was apart of, all the while never carrying to term herself. I'm glad I missed all of that because it seems like for 5 years the only thing they could write for Lulu and Dante was absurd baby shenanigans. This is what your hot, young couple was embroiled in in their late 20s? I think the next baby drama we're in for is Portia or Jordan getting knocked up. We'll ignore that they've both been in who's the daddy plots already and that both should be in their 50s.
  12. Yeah, exposing the abortion would just make her plain evil and the only way the fallout from that could have any impact on Rocco is if they had built him up as deeply religious. I think GH has forgotten that Valentin's Monster even exists. I don't quite understand why they had Lulu work so hard to get her back if they weren't going to feature her. I would've had Charlotte tearfully tell Lulu she's staying with Mi Papa or whatever and just kept them on the run. Did the show feel that Lulu couldn't move forward knowing her daughter is out there somewhere? I get that. But still. There is very little reason for any of this to upset Rocco. His parents are still his parents, this was a crime committed against them, he's been on their care since he was 7 months old. They should have dug a little deeper to find something that would upset Rocco or hurt Lulu.
  13. The ONLY thing I don’t like about Brook Lynn’s revenge against Lulu is that Rocco is a minor, a kid. And he’s not even one of these wise beyond his years kids or a smart aleck. He is a perfectly normal 16/17 year old. This isn’t Spencer vs. Ava, this is a boy who is about to get his world turned upside now by a woman who is typically kind. It makes BLQ look petty not engaging in righteous retribution. I’m not even sure this should result in the reaction she wants. Dante and Lulu are still his biological parents and it should be perfectly understandable to the sweet, sensitive Rocco why they might not have wanted to reveal this to him, the circumstances sound very traumatic. Does Lulu not have something else in her history to pull from? And does BLQ realize that this will make…everyone hate her? Beyond Lulu and Dante wanting to kill her, Gio especially will be pissed.
  14. This show is physically painful to watch as a fan of the genre and a person with eyes. I thought I’d check out some of the fallout from the reveal of Cane as Aristotle Dumas. Big mistake. First of all what is this France set? A bunch small tables surrounded by fake tall bushes? But here’s what got me: We cut from an allegedly restless Lily (Khristel, let’s work on this whole “acting” thing) in bed flashing back to a conversation with Cane where they are…sitting at a table arguing with each other. And with that? I’m out. Not that I was ever in but Jesus Christ, was there a sale on small cafe tables or something? What happened to blocking? This is the laziest show on television.
  15. Counting the minutes until someone is pregnant again. This show can’t go long without a pregnancy, there were only about 2 months between Kristina losing “her” baby and Sasha getting knocked up. Who’s next?
  16. Something about Friday's episode felt like a throwback. Maybe it's because we were outside and there was a dog. Idk it was nice. I'm really not one to go gaga over a hot guy but Rory Gibson is distractingly hot and talented. They got his shirt off as quickly as possible lol logic be damned! I wonder if Chad didn't expect his safety net to hit recast gold. Sasha's about the dumbest person in town and I've been saying it for months! She SUCKS! A judgmental little malcontent who makes no sense but wants to act all superior and serene. The audacity of her to act all "Poor Willow" when she was actively rooting for Willow to lose her kids two weeks ago! She's spent the past year treating Willow like she's a demon but now suddenly she has to deep well of sympathy for her? Get bent you marble mouthed @sshole. You know what's crazy about her still after the hoops they've jumped through to tie her to every corner of the canvas? She could disappear tomorrow and nothing would change. In fact it might be to the show's benefit. Michael doesn't need THREE children.
  17. It would be kind of perfect if Nikki started emulating Kay in style and mannerisms actually. Kay was her surrogate mother and her example of how a society lady of a certain age should carry herself. The reveal of Aristotle Dumass as Cane and Cane as Billy Flynn is so fyucking stupid that I don’t have the words. Every time I catch a glimpse of this show it’s a scene of two people sat at a table. Does this not drive you all mad? Mariah and Tessa had this big emotional scene on the patio of CL. It’s deranged. GH manages to have sets for a dayplayers in a single episode but Y&R can’t be bothered for contract players and an important story climax. This is more than budget issues, this is a show produced by people who don’t care about what they’re transmitting.
  18. Haha, welcome! Thanks to @Vee I can't think of her as anything but a crime against nature. It's funny to see Setton criticized right now when the past few months are the first time she's impressed me. She's sunk her teeth into this and it shows IMO. The way she's played her simmering rage at Lulu is the first time she's felt like Tracy's lineage. Her wardrobe is insane and I don't understand it. A linebacker masquerading as a glittery tuxedo cat is not the look I would have chosen for the big reveal of Gio as her son but what do I know? This plot has made me like Chase for the first time! I love a wife guy on a soap! That's his woman and he's on her side no matter (until they inevitably divorce at some point in the future). It's nice to see a guy be ride or die for his girl, on this show it's the women who spend their free time acting as cheerleaders for the men. This plot has also made me dislike Dante. I found his reaction to Rocco's alcohol poisoning to be wildly out of character and his stance in regard to Chase isn't in step with who he is either. They clearly want him to have a certain perspective to amp up the conflict but it's not working in those instances. Only his reactions to Brook Lynn and Lulu (especially) rang true. I don't think Dominic buys it either which in resulting in some of his weaker performances.
  19. My GOD I want Brook Lynn to punch Lulu in the taint. Jfc she’s a menace! ”She hit me!” Yeah, stand still so she can do it again. Hey, let’s let Chris McKenna wear something other than a suit at some point. He looked ridiculous at the pool. Willow and Drew and the ripple effect of their affair is the best thing to happen on this show in years. I don’t like them but I love them. Unlike most of Sonny, Carly and Jason’s foils Drew isn’t easy to dismiss or kill off. Which is why this story works. He’s the town bad guy. Good! I’m not saying he comes close to an Adam Chandler or Victor Newman but soaps need a rich jackass who everyone treats like the boogeyman but isn’t actually evil, just totally driven by his own self-interest. For years the bad guys on this show have been interlopers you knew weren’t going to last a contract cycle (if they were lucky!). For so long everyone was so effing nice minus the disposable Cyrus or Victor or that reptilian in the ascot raising his mutant test tube baby.
  20. I had to stop watching early last week because I could not tolerate another interminable scene of Genie Francis valiantly attempting to keep pace opposite a disillusioned and confused Maurice Benard. Nevermind that the scenes largely consisted of Laura kissing the ring for some godforsaken reason, how is his performance acceptable? He’s painful to watch.
  21. Some country club revelation thoughts from a casual watcher no one asked for. The Great: Daphnee Duplaix gave the best performance we've seen yet. Nicole's dialogue was also well thought out and felt character specific. TJ Maxx Ted was also pretty good. Trisha Mann-Grant steals every scene she's in. Often without even trying. Carrying multiple episodes worth of exposition heavy soap dialogue with starts and stops and recapping and drama and humor is no small feat and she nailed. Vernon telling Lesliana to STFU. The Bad: So much of the dialogue for the rest of the cast was overly written. Martin said "You are a vile human being with a hole in your heart!". Marty, what are we doing? It's SO dramatic and sounds so silly coming from this grown man. Do Bill and Hayley do anything but talk about the Duprees? And the nerve of her to get so excited to find out Ted is a cheater when she and her husband are too. There should be a hint of shame mixed in with your glee, ma'am. The Questionable: Coffee and a rendition of Amazing Grace after finding out Nicole was betrayed by her husband. The Duprees are an odd bunch. The stinger of one segment had Anita prepared to lambast Lesliana, when we came back someone else was talking. When Anita eventually said something to Wig, it was a lukewarm at best. And then of course she thought singing a song about something that should absolutely not be extended to her son-in-law. The entire family allowing this deranged woman to speech at them in their own was...nuts. I know she said something about what would the neighbors say but my GOD. Is she just going to be allowed to trespass whenever she feels like it now? The focus on Leslie and her wig usage as an oddity is...odd. I think Chelsea said something like "and she wears wigs!" (while wearing a buss down middle part). Okay? It's just not that odd for a black woman to change up her hair. It's the different names that's the problem. I know it's meant to be humorous, in a throwback soap kind of way, but it fell flat for me. I'm sorry I find the whole family to be WEIRD. It's like they want us to see them as ruthless yet benevolent, open yet furtive, snobbish yet tooth achingly sweet all at the same time. I cannot get a lock on the family dynamics. Everyone is just there. I'm gonna cry if this show doesn't start giving us ages (or close to it!) for these characters. Because if Eva is 21-22 then Martin was being given crayons, a soda pop and blinders when he was 15-17 years old. Martin had to have been under 8 for me to buy this story, which would make Eva and Kat late 20s (Martin is at least 35 since he wants to run for president), which I don't think they're meant to be. It's honestly minor but it bothers me. I've mentioned this to @Vee but I think the optics on opening the show with both sisters discovering their husbands of over 30 years are cheaters should've been considered. I doubt there was any intention behind it, no one's rubbing their hands together as they scheme to say the married black men can't stay loyal but how does it look? Maybe it's just me. Honestly it's probably just me!
  22. MJ always gave 90s NBC daytime to me so no great loss. He certainly wasn't impressing me much in those scenes with Daphnee where they both finally got something to do.
  23. Nina and Portia are generally presented as entirely too savvy to not think this ketamine (don't even GET me started on that) nonsense wouldn't immediately blow up in their face. Drew, the ex-navy seal and congressman, wouldn't get a drug test immediately after acting wildly out of character? Portia allowed this to so easily be traced back to her by roping in Brad, a man who can't stand her? Nina didn't think Willow would Stand By Her Man? Girl, PAY ATTENTION! I also find it disturbing how BOTH of them are gaslighting Willow. It feels gross. They should have presented Gio as anything other than a responsible, genial and affable guy if they wanted us to buy any of Dante's ranting about him. You've known this kid since he was a baby and suddenly you're yelling at him like he's the devil incarnate? It was so forced. Every one of them, including Dante, know that they all would have done the same thing in Gio's shoes. Teen gets drunk, friends cover for them. Gio's only 5 years older than him, barely allowed to legally drink himself. How was he to know the kid had alcohol poisoning? Alexa Havins crying every day over keeping a baby secret. Ahh memories. Molly and Kristina are just the worst to their mom and Alexis allows it. Kristina does need to be committed, she's a danger to herself and others. I wish Alexis would just tell her that she knows. I can't wait until Molly finds out about her almost getting Ric and Liz killed. I need her to body slam Kristina. Sasha thinks she knows EVERYTHING. She's always giving advice and painted as right no matter what. And so holier than thou while carrying a married man's baby.
  24. Minus all the nonsense with Portia, Curtis and Trina acting like Drew paying for Kai's surgery is akin to signing a deal with the devil and Joss and Ken Doll secret agent guy, Friday was excellent. Diane laid it all out for Alexis: Your daughter is insane and you are an enabler. So stop that. Carly was infuriating in the best way. She shines when her hateful hypocrisy is called out, as it was immediately by Willow and Drew, as opposed to the Earth Mother role they've shoehorned her into the past few years. She herself is an adoptee, as is her brother and so is her son yet without hesitation she told Willow that Wiley isn't her son. That was so nasty, my god. I love what they're doing with Emma. The specificity is so rare in daytime. And they're building her as a legacy character taking after a fan favorite without making her a carbon copy. Hmm what else? Trina's top was really cute. I kind of wish they would've made Gio and Emma boyfriend and girlfriend by now, they spend all of their time together anyway, just make 'em a couple. Anyone notice that as soon as Jason and Sasha started heading toward coupledom that she exclusively wears all black everything? Btw I can't believe I'm saying this because I've found her useless for so long and Jason is mostly a test pattern to me when he appears but I'm enjoying their rapport. They look good together and somehow make the other more tolerable.
  25. What an offensively stupid story. And it took 9 months to tell? Brooke's been involved in some doozy but this is...yikes. And the child isn't even a factor in either of their lives. How utterly bizarre. Edit: And I just looked him up. This scrambled egg of a baby is almost 18 years old in real time and apparently entirely raised by Nick. Brooke and Taylor? Do not care. What a mess lmao
