"Approximately 20 electoral ballots were damaged, along with additional miscellaneous mail," Phoenix Fire Department officials revealed, according to ABC 15. "We are waiting for details from law enforcement," Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer explained. "We encourage all voters who used that mail box in the last 36 hours to check the status of their ballots at https://BeBallotReady.Vote." "Successful delivery is usually reflected on that website within 72 hours," he added. "Voters should be aware that tomorrow, October 25 is the last day to request a replacement ballot. If a voter believes they were impacted by this incident they can learn more about how to make that request at https://Request.Maricopa.Vote."

- DAYS: R.I.P. Drake Hogestyn (John Black, Days of our Lives)
As posted much earlier on this thread, Deidre released a statement on October 2nd via Access Hollywood. https://www.accessonline.com/articles/days-of-our-lives-icon-deidre-hall-speaks-out-on-drake-hogestyns-death-exclusive On Oct. 21st, Deidre posted that same statement on her IG. https://www.instagram.com/deidrehall_official/p/DBZlBGcyZtH/ deidrehall_official For nearly 4 decades, Marlena Evans and I have loved the same man. Marlena’s John is an iconic hero, and unfailingly rescuing her from all matter of villains. My acting partner was incredibly professional from the moment he entered the studio; flawless in his preparation and ready for any eventuality in any scene. He was gracious and kind to everyone, from the executive staff to the night crew. Drake loved what he did and adored and respected everyone with whom he did it. Having said that, we always knew that his two greatest loves were his family and the Yankees. Victoria and their children were truly the center of his life. Drake is dearly loved by everyone who ever knew him and he will be missed beyond measure. We will continue, as he always encouraged us, to swing for the fences. . Many of the current and former cast commented on Deidre's IG post. comments on Deidre's IG: Many have of the cast already released statements separately. Just posting here ones I hadn't seen yet: morganfairchild1 I’m so very sorry, Deidre💔💔💔 mollyburnett ❤️❤️🩹 kevinspirtas 💔❤️❤️- The Politics Thread

I don't want to see BTG preempted by the usual live soccer match premptions in the Mountain, Pacific (also Alaska and Hawaii) timezones .... preemptions that usually happen a few episodes per month during Feb/March/April every year. (Four dates in February, two dates in March, plus four dates in late April or early May.) CBS already does this to B&B and Y&R every year, and also "The Talk" was affected. CBS doesn't think the western timezone viewers matter, "oh those viewers can just watch the show online", but still, it matters when you're premiering a new soap. Those "partial preemptions only in some timezones" are weird. I'd rather that CBS completely preempt the soaps in all timezones on the soccer match dates. That way viewers who watch soaps on broadcast TV don't miss the episodes. I hope they delay the debut of BTG until after the February soccer dates. If they start BTG in January, then I hope the show is completely preempted in all timezones on the February soccer dates.- BTG: History, Behind the Scenes Articles & Photos

Loren Lott's role as "Young Ominara" was in a Star-Trek-like film. Nichelle Nichols (Uhura!) played Ominara. https://girlsunited.essence.com/feedback/news/loren-lott-star-trek-nichelle-nichols/ pilot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9GZ8kTMD6s- ARTICLE: Loren Lott & Chene’ Lawson Return To ‘The Young and the Restless’
In that May 2023 arc, Devon announced he was changing his surname from Hamilton to "Winters" and asked Harmony if she was okay with that, and she was. More than a year later, in mid-August 2024, the closing credits finally began showing Bryton as "Devon Winters" instead of "Devon Hamilton".- The Politics Thread

I don't know why, but Errol changed the policy on Sept. 24, 2024 so that posters can edit each of their own posts up to 59 minutes after they first posted it. After one hour, it cannot be edited. Thread on that here: https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/67508-cant-edit-my-own-posts-from-yesterday-or-prior/ (yeah the thread is titled "can't edit my own posts from yesterday or prior" because I didn't know the limit was one hour. By the time I learned the limit was one hour, it was too late to edit the thread title). Still don't know why the policy was enacted, but I guess we can ask Errol again on that thread. ---------------------------------- Back on topic, @slick jones , thanks for finding ways to update the profiles on fb or via messaging, etc. This must be unwieldy but we are grateful that you try. Senator (and Navy veteran) Mark Kelly campaigning for Kamala Harris at an IHOP (pancake house) -- to get veterans out to vote in Arizona: https://www.azcentral.com/story/news/politics/elections/2024/10/16/mark-kelly-boosts-veterans-knocks-trump-at-harris-campaign-stop/75694553007/ Here's a clip of Mark Kelly having a conversation with a vet who supported Trump, and Kelly explaining the actual facts -- I think Kelly may have convinced him. I will try to embed the tiktok. Then I'll post a twitter copy of the same tiktok. I do agree that, in general, some of of the so-called "town halls" on various networks have planted people from a political party asking biased questions and/or irrelevant/ignorant questions. There was an Oct. 15 event in Georgia billed as a women's town hall asking Trump questions. It aired on Fox but it was edited. According to CNN: https://edition.cnn.com/2024/10/16/media/fox-news-women-town-hall-supporters/index.html “I want to thank you for coming to a room full of women the current administration would consider domestic terrorists,” a woman named Alicia said to laughter from the audience before a question about foreign policy. But a portion of Alicia’s question was edited by Fox News to remove her admission that she was voting for Trump. “I proudly cast my vote for you today. I hope they count it,” she added, according to an audio recording from a CNN reporter in attendance. While it’s common for a pre-taped event or interview to be edited for time, Alicia’s short remark came in the middle of her question, which remained intact on the broadcast. During another moment missing from Fox’s broadcast, Trump asked the crowd who they were voting for, leading to a chant of “Trump, Trump” breaking out by the attendees. Fox News did not respond to CNN questions about the missing remarks. Yeah I agree there definitely needs to be more fact-checking on both interviews and on town halls.- The Media/Journalism Thread
Univision's live town halls (with Harris on Oct. 10; and with Trump Oct. 16) had audience members asking relevant questions. youtube links: Harris Oct. 10 (Spanish feed) (Link) Harris Oct. 10 (English feed) (Link) Trump Oct. 16 (Spanish feed) (Link) Trump Oct. 16 (English feed) (Link) Some of the audience members asked better questions than some news reporters tend to ask. - DAYS: R.I.P.
