Was it true that she dumbed most of the characters down during her tenure? I know that she was the one who wrote Samantha locking Marlena in a sanitarium and taking her place, which I don't understand how they pulled off. Identical or not, Marlena and Samantha (Deidre and Andrea) can clearly be told apart.

Just watched the Coronation massacre. It was crazy and OTT but it was directed really well. And all the cameos from all the popular soap stars were fun to see. I miss when soaps had money. Also, was Stefano originally gonna turn out to be Chloe's father? The writers really seemed to have established a good relationship between the two of them.

Yeah. Ben Masters played Vic Strang. He was going to direct the movie based on Jamie's book. He had flings with Cecile, and then Julia. I think the problem with Pete and Diana was the writing as well. From what I've read, it seems like there was no pacing for them and they were just rushed into a romance which is probably why they were a bust. According to the synopses, they met in December 1981 but by February, they already wanted to get married. That's way too fast even for established characters; with brand new ones, there was no chance.

1) Robert was said to have married Olivia after he left Bay City, after he divorced Iris. 2) Robert had an affair with Carol Lamonte. And I think Carol started investigating into Walter's past, which is why Lenore decided to leave. 3) I think Clarice kept her pregnancy a secret from Robert at first because of Iris' threats and she eventually told them. I don't think they were a couple for that long either. And you're correct about Cory and Wally. Why they didn't age Cory at the same time that they aged Nancy, I'll never know.

It's just seemed so surprising that after headlining AW for most of the 90s; even writing an episode of AW that showed what life would have been like in Bay City had Vicky died, she just gets killed off like six months after the show ended. You would think they would have kept her on ATWT longer in order to help with the ratings.
