  1. Well, if he reads this thread, I hope these videos put a smile on his face.
  2. Do it! And since I was just listening to this, may I suggest this song as well 😂
  3. Yep. The sabotage was unbelievable. Half of the suits wanted AW gone, the other half wanted it to be a DOOL clone. Throw in Jill, who hates older women and has an obsession with turning soaps into primetime shows and it's a recipe for disaster. I was rewatching the show for a while. I got up to the whole Cody Mercer saga. Overall, I didn't necessarily hate 95-96, but it didn't feel like I was watching AW at all.
  4. Which is where my memories of AW begin. I was only 4 years old but I can still remember the lead up to Frankie's murder and then my Mom telling me to go in the other room and watch something else lol she probably knew it was gonna be violent and she didn't want me to see it. I'll still watch. It's always nice to see AW get remembered.
  5. Well, let's hope Jill doesn't make a surprise appearance. The Nick/Maggie/Sofia triangle is one of my clearest memories from that time
  6. Hey @Gray Bunny, how did this turn out? Are you and your husband still friends with her?
  7. I'm over Van lol but I still think about him from time to time. Let's just say he was my first guy crush that had nothing to do with my teenage hormones 😂😂 But I agree, Chandler is hotter.
  8. Just one look and he had you, right? I get it. The same thing happened to me with Van Hansis back in the day 😂
  9. He does have a great smile. If you don't mind me asking @Soapsuds, how did your admiration for Chandler begin?
  10. I'm curious as to what he thought about Hugh Marlowe. Lemay was so vocal about most of the actors who were there before him, but he never really went in to detail about how he felt about HM, or Michael Ryan either.
  11. I never stood a chance. He's all yours @Soapsuds 😂😂😂
  12. Yep. Walter didn't cry into the scarf as much as Lemay said he did, right? 😂😂
  13. I think when Stefano kidnapped them and held them hostage at Ridgecrest was when they started to become friends. But hey, right now she's bffs with the man that she thought killed her grandson.
  14. Thanks! Seems like a strange way of thinking, but I'm glad they used it to make Liz a completely good character.
  15. For a while they did. They actually got married, but then Tony showed up claiming that he and Liz were still married so her and Don's marriage was invalid. Idk why but they broke up after that and I think Liz went back to Neil briefly. But then Tony and Stefano threatened to kill Neil unless Liz went back to Tony. Neil then turned to Marie.

  17. I love that book! Lemay's attitude and personality may leave a bad taste in your mouth lol but it's still a really good read. Here's an episode that managed to survive the purge. Eddie Drueding also posted some audio clips on his channel from that time period as well.
  18. I don't get it. It seems like such a lucrative opportunity, but P&G just won't do it. Even if it has to do with royalties/residuals, they can't be that expensive. And besides, don't you have to get it in writing in order to receive them? I think that's what happened with The Honeymooners. Audrey Meadows was the only cast member to receive them every time the episodes were shown because she had it written into her contract.
  19. Not sure. It might have been done by Youtube itself as opposed to an outside party claiming copyright.
  20. Nope. Sorry.
  21. Agreed
  22. Well... I think I need to take a trip to China
  23. Hey @slick jones, I'm pretty sure he also made a brief appearance on AW as a fireman in 1981, when the mob blew up Cory Publishing.
  24. The Laemmle era strikes me as something along the lines of, if you watched it every day you might as well have been glued to the TV, but when you thought about it in retrospect, you'd think, "Oh wow this was terrible" Maybe Laemmle actually did just pitch a show to the networks and failed every time, only to use all the ideas for that show when she got to DAYS. And it also seems like she used primetime show story pacing on a daytime show, which almost always fails.
