  1. 4/6/92 there is remote footage of Jack driving into the Newman ranch. This is the only time I remember seeing the outside of the ranch. Anyone remember there is remote footage in other eps?
  2. Thank you @Search For Yesterday for 11/11/92! Eps from this time period are very rare!
  3. What would we do without you!
  4. 😂 Interesting that Ashley was introduced as “Scheherezade” when she looked like Barbara Eden in I Dream of Jeannie. Bill Bell liked the name Scheherezade, he used it as the name of a restaurant in a 1974 scene when Lorie spied Jennifer kissing Bruce. I had to google Scheherezade, she was originally a character in the “One Thousand and One Nights” Why didn’t Sheila interact with her in-laws Cricket and Danny 😢 Best performance hands-down was Lauren and Traci! It was an alternate universe performance, as in the regular show they can’t stand each other 😆
  5. I’m rewatching the ‘91 Masquerade Ball and realizing it’s the 10th anniversary of the ‘81 London Gala, and there’s many similarities. As each guest arrives, they are announced by the maitre d I’m eating up the small moments, like Douglas meeting Madame Chauvin… knowing that Michael Evans was on the show ‘80-82 when Melinda Cordell played quite an opposite character, Dorothy Stevens 😂 Who ever told Jeanne Cooper she has a good singing voice 👀 Wow is KSJ easy on the eyes as Dionysus 😍
  6. I’m wondering if Victor paid his respects to Lauren fall ‘87 after Neil passed and she took over at Fenmore’s
  7. 3/28/88 Lauren calls Victor for the first time to discuss business, and they meet at Gina's on 3/29/88. The dialogue doesn't make it sound like the first time they met... they mention catching each other's eye (but not speaking) at the Dec '87 Candy Cane Ball. And then of course Lauren was at the '84 Niktor wedding. So... still unclear if Victor and Lauren met and exchanged dialogue prior to 3/28/88
  8. Victor interacted a lot with Lauren in the late 80s. Victor interacted with Traci on rare occasions. I recently watched a spring '91 scene with Victor, Brad and Traci. Danny is the one where we don't know if he and Victor ever directly interacted.
  9. Season 2 leans more into multi-episode arcs, but then Season 3 retreats into more single ep stories. The Season 4 Ciji story is when the writers really commit to the long-form storytelling that will work so well.
  10. Nikki and Danny are introduced 7/6/81 and say hello to each other. Later in Oct ‘84, Danny performs at Nikki’s charity ball. Don’t know if we saw this onscreen but it’s assumed that she recruited him to perform. The 1988 date you’re referring to is 4/5/88. The writers apparently forgot that they met before, and Nikki and Danny act like it’s the first time. Good question about Victor and Danny, don’t know if they ever interacted.
  11. I don’t know, I’m still mad at him for screwing up the baby Skylar adoption… 😂
  12. Oh no, not the blob!! 😂😂 he’ll talk more as you continue your viewing 🥰 it’s such a jarring transition in ‘93 to Courtland Mead with his hammy sitcom delivery 🤪
  13. I found an update of my favorite lil Phillip from '91-93! Played by twins Scott and Shaun Markley. Neither bio mentions their stint on YR 🤣 https://cbulancers.com/sports/mens-volleyball/roster/scott-markley/457 https://nicholaslaw.org/shaun-markley/ Interestingly, AFAIK they were never listed in the cast credits. I guess it was always considered an under-5 role. Courtland Mead was credited in '93, I guess he had more dialogue.
  14. Triple-whammy for YR... 1) only a 3-month-old show 2) writers's strike 3) pre-emptions Perhaps Denise Alexander having joined GH a few months prior?
  15. For as much as Bill Bell focused on "social issue" stories, the Brad-going-blind story seems like a real dud to me. Of course someone going blind would have to experience all the emotions and go through a mourning period, but blind people are productive members of society, and Brad as a former physician would have known that. Instead he is acting like his blindness would be a curse upon Leslie, destroying her growing performing career, which just isn't true. They could hire an aide to stay with Brad when Leslie is traveling. But no... The show did it much better with Hope in the 90s. Though I would have liked to have seen Hope thriving in more settings (I think we heard about her volunteering but it was offscreen) at least the writers didn't have her miraculously regain her sight, like Brad did.
  16. Cool, thank you for the perspective - helps me appreciate the story more. Totally makes sense - we know BB was so frustrated with the state of the show after its first 6 months that he was ready to cancel it.
  17. Thanks! Was anyone watching during this time? Wondering how Peggy’s rape played out onscreen. It just seems cruel to subject the Brooks family to this trauma a 2nd time. Feels like the writers have already given up on the character of Jennifer, even though she sticks around another year-plus. She should be a passionate and fierce protective mother, but instead she seems just reactionary (and not even mentioned in this recap) This was also the case in ‘73 when Chris was raped. The writers are definitely more invested Stuart as the Brooks parent.
  18. Thanks, these are great! Joanne Curtis, another soap character punished for having an abortion
  19. Are these new?! Damn, he is in the prime of his life.
  20. Thanks. Well, if things were shaky in the beginning for her, at least she had that nice paycheck.
  21. Did Denise give any interviews where she talked about her first few years on GH... '73-75? I wonder if she had any regrets leaving Days for GH, as from what I've read, the show was in the dumps writing-wise, so am thinking she didn't have great story? Any Leslie story highlights I've seen always start with '76, after Gloria Monty took charge.
  22. The funeral was not onscreen - only the Brooks returning home after the service. Not aware of any available clips.
  23. If you ever make it to the Paley Center in NYC (fka Museum of TV and Radio), in their viewing room, you can watch Days 1/1/73 featuring Denise Alexander as Susan. It’s her last month on the show before switching to GH.
