  1. If they talk about your wedding(s) decades after it/they happened, you might just be a supercouple.
  2. Speaking of SMG, my headcanon is that here she's the daughter or granddaughter of Mrs. Johnson, Carol Burnett's first cameo character from 1976.
  3. I finished the other episode. Now, granted, I'm watching with the benefit of hindsight, but I assume the audience knew that sooner or later, Joe & Ruth were going to leave the friend zone.
  4. That same channel has two other early 1970 episodes. For all the Ruth Warrick fans, this one has Phoebe.
  5. Seeing that the second episode aired Wednesday, June 3, 1970, I wonder if that means that the Friday cliffhanger for May 29 was Phil's discovery.
  6. I still hold out hope that one day, we'll finally see Alan & Monica's 1978 wedding.
  7. How exciting, @All My Shadows! Thank you.
  8. Does anyone know when the Alan & Monica elevator scene in this promo happened? Also, did this ever actually air on TV, or was it video-only?
  9. Based on the voiceover promo under the fourth episode's credits (the QEII episode) and the commerical teasing the June 19, 1984, edition of the Enquirer, and assuming the last one didn't jump ahead, these are from Friday, June 8-Thursday, June 14, 1984. Interesting that CBS Daytime had another big wedding two weeks after the last one (Steve & Betsy, ATWT). At least there was more than a month between Victor & Nikki, Y&R, and Steve & Betsy.
  10. *smacks head* Yes, that would make more sense for the Fords to donate their salaries to the charity they were there in support of, as opposed to Betty's cause. Again, assuming that they did donate their money.
  11. Ah, gotcha. I'll wait until the conclusion, then.
  12. @Maxim, I forget, what is your policy on spoilers? I ask because I wanted to show you the "NBC Daytime Update" promos from early 1989, but I also don't want to take away any fun you're having from being surprised. I also think it's interesting that AW was apparently the only show to get those promos. Looking back, it feels like an insult, that NBC was a-ok with jamming in as much recapping as possible.
  13. Interesting that John basically directed traffic in Blake & Krystle's moment with the Fords. Linda, Betty, and to an extent Gerald are all extras. I can't remember if it's true or just folklore, but Joan supposedly ad libbed the punchline to Alexis & Henry's moment. I don't supposed Betty donated her and Gerald's money to the clinic?
  14. For all his faults, JER at least never went there. Maybe it was on Ron's to-write list?
  15. All this talk about Marie, plus my finding a clip of another catfight, this time with Mary (see below), makes me glad that we never had a situation where she had a knockdown-drag out while in her habit.
  16. I apologize if this has been posted before, but it's always fun to see a Clarence promo. I'm also fascinated that it's catering to people who used to watch Santa Barbara at 3, as opposed to trying to pick up any General Hospital fans. I guess CBS figured one step at a time.
  17. The caricature of Bea Arthur looks a bit drag-ish. Great find!
  18. I've said it before, but Gloria Loring must have had one hell of an it factor, since Liz's storylines from 1981-83 are complicated as hell. One other detail I forgot to mention: At the time of the shooting, Marie & Neil had been married for less than two months. Yes, spring 1985. Days already had a wacky couple with Eugene & Calliope, but I wonder if they were considering a more grounded version with Howie & Marie.
  19. He's the one I always want to see more of.
  20. Funny you should mention that: 8/31/81-9/4/81: "Mary conceded defeat to Marie for Alex and teased Neil about rekindling old sparks." At the time of the shooting, Liz & Neil had been on-and-off for nearly three years. Marie & Neil had been together for about six months (minus early flirting and her doing the Florence Nightingale thing when he had pneumonia). On the whole, I'm glad they didn't pair the spares and have Marie get with Don.
  21. Thank you for the tag. "Is this from the Daniel Reubens benefit?" DUDE, WHAT DOES THE HEADLINE SAY?
  22. Aside from the hair, and Richard Steinmetz looking hot, the highlight was the Clay-Stacey interaction. It's interesting to watch in light of what's playing out between those two in @Kane's recaps.
  23. I love it! Thanks so much, @JAS0N47. Over the years, we've talked about how Days lost something when the older, lived-loved-lost crowd got pushed to the side. Even these glances say so much.
  24. Thank you! I'm guessing that the fight started on Monday, May 2, and wrapped Tuesday, May 3.
